I would think that it's not a good idea to eat there. They touch bread and then touch all of the toppings. These are the same toppings that would be in your salad. Could you bring a salad from home in a container? I like to bring lettuce and tomato in a container and bring some leftover taco meat and eat it with corn chips. That makes for a great lunch...
  2. So I am wanting to make some chili cheese dip with Velveeta. Is Velveeta gluten free?
  3. Thanks for clearing this up once again. I think there is a big misconception that gluten can go through your skin and into your system. I read posts about people thinking they got glutened by touching pet food or giving cheerios to a baby etc. If you wash your hands before eating, you wont be consuming gluten. Right?!
  4. Have you thought that you might have lactose intolerance? I have it. If I don't take a lactaid tablet before dairy, I bloat, gas, terrible pains etc. Maybe try Lactaid tablets and Lactaid milk. Works like a charm for me. I love the stuff!
  5. I just made a pan of the Betty Crocker Gluten Free Brownies. WOW! These are the real thing. I added Nestle White Morsels to it before I baked it and they came out so moist and good! I feel like I am going to get glutened when I eat them because they taste so much like the real thing! These Betty Crocker mixes have been a lifesaver for me! Wow oh wow oh wow...
  6. Works great for grilled cheese and french toast!
  7. I think that most restaurants with gluten free menus do the best that they can. Because restaurants have huge menus with a lot of gluteny foods on them, CC is very high. I think this is a chance we take as celiacs every time we eat away from home.
  8. I understand where you are coming from. Some of the things that I do is use a lot of canned veggies and fruits. Things like green beans and corn etc. I just bought 3 cases. They were really cheap at Target. Applesauce is cheap and a big jar goes a long way. You can make rice chex treats using the chex and marshmallows and things like Jello and pudding are...

    ARCHIVED Wendys

Hi neighbor! KC area here too! I love Hyvee! Whats BRGR in Prairie Village? We can't to go Chick Filet or PF Changs due to nut allergy. I heard Waldo Pizza was safe but the idea of them making a mistake scares me! I called Zarda BBQ after reading on their sauce bottles that it was gluten-free. I asked if the food was gluten-free they told me beans all meat...
  11. Never heard of any fruit being dusted with gluten. Ocean Spray makes juices and they are gluten free. I drink the cran grape and cranapple daily.

    ARCHIVED Wendys

I was not aware that Wendy's had gluten free options until I read on Elisabeth Hasselbeck's Twitter acct. that she ate there with her family after going to a pumpkin patch. She is on The View and has celiac disease. I thought if she eats there, it must be safe..right? I'm nervous to do so though.
  13. You could try Lactaid milk and supplements if you think it's lactose intolerance. Works great for me! Welcome to the forum!
  14. I'll have to look for that soup. It's called Gluten free cafe? Is that the brand?

Wendys chili, baked potato and frosty all on their gluten free menu..Do I dare??? Anyone eat this stuff? I haven't eaten in any restaurant in over 6 months. Sometimes it would be nice to eat out while out shopping. Anyone know of any safe places to eat in the Kansas City area?
  16. I keep some cans of Dinty Moore beef stew on hand for nights like that. That over a bag of Steamfresh rice is pretty good. Also, Hormel chicken chunks over bagged salad is good too! Progresso soups too..That with corn tortilla and ham melts...stuff like that which is so quick and easy to make is good to keep on hand! Sorry that meal didnt work out for you...
  17. Hey! It does not need to be just an ordinary day and regular meal! After all, you don't have pumpkin pie on a regular day! It's the same as any other Thanksgiving minus the gluten. I guess I don't really understand your question. Are you looking for ways to make a Thanksgiving meal on a budget?
  18. Thanks for the info. I'll have to check and see if my store has them.
  19. Thanks Karen Rowena, that pasta salad sounds delicious. I should make some!
  20. Sounds yummy! Do they have soy in them? How do you make your pasta salad?!?! I'd love some!
  21. Coffee makes me sick as a dog. Try tea or hot cocoa until your intestines have a chance to heal. Coffee is very harsh on the digestive system b/c of the acid. You will get better! Give it time. You are still healing. I felt like that for at least 6 months. I didnt gain any weight either for about 6 months. Hang in there. I have been there.
  22. Hiya! I am looking for chocolate that is made in a dedicated facility or on dedicated lines. Anyone know of any or of a place that I can order online from? Thanks
  23. Try the Betty Crocker gluten free mixes. They are made in a dedicated facility. They are amazing. I have made pumpkin bread, banana bread, pumpkin cream cheese bars and cupcakes with the yellow cake mix and I have made chocolate chip cookies with the chocolate chip cookie mix. I also made ice cream sandwiches with the cookies and a cheesecake using the cookie...
  24. I noticed that there is a several year old thread on canned soup right below this but I am wondering if anyone has eaten the Progresso Soup that is labeled Gluten Free. I have a few cans of Progresso Vegetable Classics labeled Gluten Free 2 times on the can. Anyone eat these? There are several listed on their website as being marked gluten free. THey are...
  25. Me too!
