eatmeat4good replied to eatmeat4good's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks Ravenwood! Go get yourself a box for Mother's Day! They are in Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, and even 7-Elevens! That's my favorite and you will love them. Hope you tell me bout your reaction... to the chocolate treasure I mean! It actually says they contain wheat in the allergy information section, but I think the wheat protein is not present... -
We used to have cockatiel and parakeets. We switched them from bird seed to Bird Food Pellets and I was the happiest woman in the world! No more dust or discarded shells. The pellet food is fortified with the vitamins and nutrients they need. Can't remember the name of it. It was kind of expensive but WELL worth it. You mix it with their regulat...

ARCHIVED Interesting Information On Website
eatmeat4good replied to 11475's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I read his stuff. That is what turned me on to eating meat for good. I think all grains cause me inflammation and uggish feelings. I never would have figured it all out. But with people like him and the Paleo people, and some experimentation of my own, I feel better than I have in years. I gotta have meat. Love the carbs and gluten free treats now... -

I wondered about processed foods having iodized salt. Sometimes I reacted to them. So I didn't eat them while I was trying to heal DH. I heard organic dairy doesn't contain as much iodine. Here is what I figured out about dairy and DH...If a product has carageenan in it, my DH reacts. Carageenan is made from seaweed and seaweed contains iodine. So organic...

ARCHIVED Toffifay
eatmeat4good replied to eatmeat4good's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Oh my gosh...it is a yummy wonderful little candy made by the Storck Company of Germany. It is shaped like a half circle...and it has a super thin caramel shell filled with chocolate cream with one whole hazelnut inside and dollop of dark chocolate on top. It's all the good stuff wrapped in one bite. Melts in your mouth and warms your soul. Hope... -

eatmeat4good replied to eatmeat4good's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

ARCHIVED Has Anyone Here Ever Developed Chronic Dh After Going Gluten Free?
eatmeat4good replied to George Knighton's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
DH can be activated by iodine too. ham is salty. When I eat salty food my DH breaks out. You have to limit iodine temporarily to get rid of the antibodies. Iodine keeps the IgA antibodies active. What ingredients were you referring to Rosetapper? I am interested in knowing what those hams contained so I can watch for it. I haven't read anything on hams... -
ARCHIVED Question About Dh Testing...
eatmeat4good replied to salexander421's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
You can get false negatives with the DH rash biopsy if you are gluten free. And sometimes it is a false negative even if you are consuming gluten. I don't they can biopsy unless you have a rash...and the biopsy would be taken from the clear skin next to the lesion. Hmmm wonder if IgA antibodies could be detected in the clear skin where a rash used... -
ARCHIVED Toffifay

I got a box of Toffifay for my B-Day. I have eaten it a few times in my 7 months gluten free. I popped one in my mouth as I turned the box over to read as it has never had wheat in it before. This box says contains glucose syrup from wheat or corn. So I didn't eat any more. But I didn't feel sick and never have from them. I don't wanna give... -

Open Original Shared Link They called it Bread Madness I found it very interesting. Open Original Shared Link Unfortunately Clinical Therapists and Psychologists are not trained at all regarding the neurological effects of gluten and the resulting profound depression and anxiety that can result. I got 2 degrees to treat depressed people and then got... -
ARCHIVED Allergic To Everything. Help! What Can I Eat? Anyone Else Like This?
eatmeat4good replied to MargoS's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Yeah, it is really really hard to realize that fruits and vegetables can make you sick. My problem is the salicylic acid content. I eat mostly meat, chicken and only a little bit of rice or else I have a problem. I felt my absolute best on a meat and water diet....but I keep hoping to eat more and keep trying to introduce foods but end up not feeling well... -

ARCHIVED At A Loss For Recovery - Guidance Needed

I love all the information you got. I can't improve on it. I just want to throw SIBO infection out there. If you have it, it is easily treated by antibiotics so just keep it in mind in case. Hmmm I might go keto.... -
Very good question. I have wondered too. I haven't taken fish oil for that reason. If it is iodine free, I'll take it. I suspect it has iodine. I use flax oil.

Dapsone worked great...for two weeks. Then I broke out all over head to toe with raised red pinpoint dots. So no Dapsone for me. You are right to be concerned. Make sure and do the blood tests if you do take it. I was strictly gluten free for 4 months with minor healing...and flares. Only when i eliminated iodine strictly did I start to heal. It took...

ARCHIVED Guar Gum, Xanthan Gum, Carragenan
eatmeat4good replied to jstwnttbhealthy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I think they help the bread to rise. It would be a denser loaf, but doable. I just recently learned of the carageenan connection myself. It makes me sick. I always used cream in my coffee and had headaches. Less headaches gluten free, but MSG and carageenan do give that headache back to me. Interesting to see it does that to others too. Thanks for... -
ARCHIVED Dh And Iodine And Thyroid Poll Curious
eatmeat4good replied to GFinDC's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis

ARCHIVED Where To Source gluten-free Flours That Are Not Contaminated With Oats?
eatmeat4good replied to gfbakingmom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
NutsOnline.com has certified gluten free flours. I think they have all the ones you mentioned but I didn't specifically check. I have never gotten sick on their gluten free products. I like all their stuff that I have tried. My son and I are very sensitive and we haven't had any reactions to anything we got there. -
ARCHIVED Red Skin And Fatigue?
eatmeat4good replied to MrMatchStick's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
That kind of fatigue and weakness and falling down is consistent with the neurological symptoms of Celiac. It can get worse..if you keep getting contaminated -whether it is from cheating or cross contamination..it can definitely get worse, mine did. They diagnosed it as "fibromyalgia" but it was Celiac muscle weakness, dizziness, and fatigue. The fatigue... -
ARCHIVED If Someone Has No Symptoms...
eatmeat4good replied to Marie1976's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
If family members are postive, the rest of the family should be tested. But that is in the medical literature or on Celiac.com. It hasn't hit the medical community. Dr.'s know very little about Celiac. Your Dad would have to tell them that he wants to be tested because a family member has Celiac. Depending on the Dr. he may have to be very convincing and... -
ARCHIVED Dh And Iodine And Thyroid Poll Curious
eatmeat4good replied to GFinDC's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
so I just read that Hashimoto's can cause sores to be unhealing or slow to heal. Hmmm another layer to this thing called Celiac/DH/Hashimoto's conundrum. What if my inability to heal is caused by Hashimoto's and the lesions are caused by DH/Celiac. And iodine causes them to react. The sores went crazy when I ate shellfish. or...Since Celiac...
