Leaky Gut And Joint Popping/pain
foam replied to spirit-walk's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I've often had popping jaw, clicking neck when I talk and knees in the past. I did at times have knees so sore than I struggled to walk but that all stopped ages ago. I haven't eaten gluten in 4 or 5 years and I guess it stopped about then. By the way I started getting regular B12 injections about then too. I'd recommend you start having the injections especailly... -

spirit_walk, as soon as you can get dairy back, you can put on weight. Cheese, Kefir and Yoghurt can all make you gain weight pretty good. I've gone from 55kg to 62kg (176cm male) over these last months since I've healed somewhat and started eating cultured dairy again despite still having a serious immune system disorder on top of a broken gut. I'm also... -
ARCHIVED Please Help Me, Help My Mum
foam replied to megz6989's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hey I wouldn't read much into the acid alkaline theory, the gut needs to be acid to work properly. I lived on the most alkaline diet of all time most of my life and it sure didn't help me. I'd bet she got gluten from something somewhere, it's sneaky stuff. Anything processed from anywhere is likely to have gluten hiding in it. Zero processed food, all made... -
ARCHIVED Soooo, I Don't Have Eosinophilic Esophagitis But......
foam replied to MoMof2Boyz's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
You see normally you would have a much higher blood count than that if you had an Eosinophilic condition. Where you have .1 in the .0 to .6 normal range. Mine is 2.3 or even 2.4 (For times over the reference limit) without any drugs. Like you say it could be cyclic so it's worth having the simple White Blood Cell count done a couple more times. Even mine... -
ARCHIVED Soooo, I Don't Have Eosinophilic Esophagitis But......
foam replied to MoMof2Boyz's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
How high are the eosinophil levels in your blood?. You always need to add the biopsy together with other tests to get a diagnosis and even when you have a name, every case is different and every case will require different treatment -
ARCHIVED Do People Try To Make You Prove Your Intolerance?
foam replied to Juliebove's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
When I came back negative to everything on allergy skin tests my doctor commented that it just shows you how useless allergy testing is because you are clearly allergic to almost everything lol . Immunoligsts almost think Allergists is not a real profession it's so dodgy. -
ARCHIVED gluten-free For 6 Years, Worse Than Ever. Help! New Person Here: )
foam replied to gluteymommy's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
gluteymommy, just about vitamin D. Vit D is one of the major factors in balancing your immune system (T cells). The problem is if you take bulk amounts of Vitamin D it will push your immune system towards the inflammatory side almost instantly and it'll keep doing that until you have enough vitamin D to balance the T cell maturation. I find real sunlight... -
ARCHIVED Ketotifen Fumarate And Other Mast Cell Stabilisers
foam replied to foam's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Gottaski, I haven't been tested for any mastcell disorders but it's part of Kimura's disease by default so there's probably no point chasing it up. At the moment I'm being tested for gene errors to see if there's something hard coded wrong that can be found, I had some bone marrow biopsys a few weeks ago to get material to test. Over these last months... -
Julie cracks in the tongue are usually caused by inflammation in the gut and or other parts of the body in general. I think it's to be expected in people with gut problems. Mine isn't really great but is improving with time it's definitely relative to how my gut is at the moment.
-
Corn is hard of the gut. I avoided it for about a year and now I can tolerate it enough that a few corn chips wouldn't hurt me. I think it's important not to eat it initially though because it's pretty bad news. Second worst after Wheat/Rye/Barely imho.

ARCHIVED Ketotifen Fumarate And Other Mast Cell Stabilisers
foam replied to foam's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
cycling lady, the nystatin didn't hurt but it didn't show up any immediate improvements on my blood work. However... I haven't had any pain in the gut for a month or two and I'm back on fruits without any problems. The Ketotifen definitely changed my white cell count, I wouldn't say in a bad way but changed it and it not that way I was hoping . So now I'm... -
ARCHIVED An Interesting Story And Introduction
foam replied to foam's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
So where was I up to?.. Oh yeah. ok so since I last wrote here I've tried a few drugs, seen a few doctors and had some more testing. As for my gut itself it's generally slowing improving, I'm no where near as sensitive to grains and sugars as I was this time last year, now I can eat limited amounts of corn and rice and sugars and my tongue is for the most... -
ARCHIVED Ketotifen Fumarate And Other Mast Cell Stabilisers
foam replied to foam's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I did my trial on Ketotifen, it made my gut feel great and changed a few things in my white blood count but not the things I wanted to change !. My doctor has prescribed me montelukast to try now. -
I've been getting smashed by the rash/sores for 20 years, I don't know if it'll ever totally clear up and I've been strictly gluten free for 4 years. But granted I have other problems that have developed that also cause the same symptoms. Bulk antihistamine use keeps me 90% clear

ARCHIVED Lupin Flour In gluten-free Pasta
foam replied to starlakid's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
My wife has(had) zero allergies or intolerances to anything, she's generally resistant to anything. Well one day she had some biscuits made from Lupin flour and it RUINED her, swollen throat, itchy. Proper allergy. Really strange because it's such a rare ingredient and she had probably never been exposed to it before.. Nasty stuff in my opinion -
ARCHIVED Genetics Question - Dq2
foam replied to appletree729's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
They say 30% of the general population (I guess they are talking Europeans) have the DQ2 gene. They also say 30% of the population have gluten intolerance, stomach cramping etc. You don't have to be genius to put the two together, I wouldn't eat gluten if I had the gene (I have it) but I mean if I had it and I wasn't obviously sick yet, I wouldn't eat it... -
ARCHIVED Apparently You Guys Were Right, It's All In My Head!
foam replied to Renegade's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Only obvious thing that's a little low and out of range is your nuetrophils, no big deal. Just be aware that lactose intolerance is generally a sign of smouldering celiac disease. It may take another 10 or 15 years to show itself but chances are it's coming. Just remember that as you go forward in life. -
ARCHIVED Hla Dq2 And Hla Dq8 Test
foam replied to Ol-Mauri's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I'm having my son tested at 6 month of age, he's only 2 month old now but he's been booked in for the test since before he was born . It's the smart thing to do. Every child should have it done. -
ARCHIVED Negative Test Result, Still Think I Have It, Do I Need More Testing?
foam replied to sliebman's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
The antibody test is useless anyway. Get the gene test done and if you have the gene, don't eat gluten ever again. It's as simple as that, black and white. Almost as black and white as the fact that if you are lactose intolerant you are celiac, might be early stage but still early stage is better than giving up late stage. I'll put my money on the gene test... -
ARCHIVED Dietery Advice Badly Needed! How To Live Without Grain?
foam replied to jaywalker's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
See if you can find the 50,000 IU capsules? a chemist local to me makes them and they are just a powder, I don't know if there's any filler but there's definitely no oil. Prescription only at that high dosage though. -
Indeed what is Kimura's disease.. You could ask that to ten thousand doctors and I doubt more than one would know what it is and even the one that knew what it was would have no idea what it is... lol. The actual answer is, not a single qualified person on this planet has a clue what it is.. unfortunately. Of course I'm 100% sure it's related to leaky...

ARCHIVED Ketotifen Fumarate And Other Mast Cell Stabilisers
foam replied to foam's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Thanks for the tip. I'll save that to my list of things to try because the Ketotifen did wonders for my gut in my non blood counted test (just on how I felt), it's a really good histamine blocker. Next week I'll start it again and see what it really does with back to back blood tests. Someone sent me some Kefir grains the other day so I'm growing that at... -
My doctor and I are trying to find a cure to Kimura's disease.. So every two to four weeks we try something new and compare my bloods to how they were before the test. You need to do even more tests that often if you are on powerful drugs to make sure your kidneys don't crash, although I haven't tested drugs that strong yet, I will be soon. These two weeks...

ARCHIVED Dietery Advice Badly Needed! How To Live Without Grain?
foam replied to jaywalker's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
There's actually a lot of vegetarians or ex vegetarians on here compared to the general population, being vegetarian is great in theory so long as you can do it without processed foods and without grains.. But how are you going to do that long term in the modern world. The problem is not the meat, the problem is the grains and you can't get enough nutrition...
