  1. I am 54 years old . I had my latest DEXA scan this past summer and it showed osteoporosis in my spine. My doc IMMEDIATELY started trying to push Boniva on me. I declined to go that route. I am taking supplements and doing weigh bearing exercises.And will closely watch the progress of the osteoporosis to decided wither or not to add drugs like Boniva...

  3. It has been almost a week since I started. Lamb,sweet potatos,peaches, peas and rice have been on the menu. Other than withdraw from coffee(( I had ALMOST cut it completely out before starting))I am starting to feel PRETTY GREAT At first I was very eager to start adding back foods,, But to be honest I am very apprehensive now that I am feeling better...

I woke up this morning CRAVING eggs and milk sooooo I am kinda thinkin I know where i am headed with this When you reintroduced eggs did you do egg whites one week and the yolks later?? or all at once? does it matter with eggs ?? ** this is important for me because I need to keep as much non-meat protein in my diet as i can**
  7. I make soups on the weekend . I place them in individual containers and freeze so I have something in a hurry/spur of the moment . I add a salad and it's dinner. I know it doesnt sound exciting, but where I am with food right now knowing I have something I can eat and that is safe is IMPORTANT
  8. If he is totally gluten free ,there may be other intolerance/ allergys that he is noticing now. A gluten free diet is not going to make him ill,, if he is eating alot of replacement (gluten free) breads,ect those flours may be suspect.Tapioca flour is a no-no for me.   11. I was dairy free long before I went gluten free,,BUT I did add it back about 6 months into being gluten free...Dairy does seem to be a hit or miss kinda thing. Skim milk doesnt bother me but cheese OH BOY. I will be really really sad if dairy has to go
  12. I was able to find Lamb and at a reasonable price(( it was on sale )) I have eliminated alot all ready,,gluten,,soy , corn, nightshades and most grains,, but there is still somthing and hopefuly doing the elimination diet will pin point whatever it is Thanks everyone
  13. I have questions for those that have done an elimination diet. Something is still an issue .If i am being honest it just feels like food ,in general ,, is an issue .. I am considering doing an elimination diet. 1.. can i use lamb or turkey ??,, chicken is not agreeing with me so I am wondering about the turkey ,but am not sure I can get/afford lamb...
  14. I am still using bits of white rice/rice flour in my cooking but other than that I am grain free and doing soooo much better. I am able to consume legumes and am getting most of my carbs from them. I am not planning on adding back grains anytime soon IF at all
  15. Dont tums/most over the counter antacids have soy in them??? Do you have issues with soy? Do you have issues with your gallbladder ??

  17. like chocolate ,lol, the taste is excellent but they do have a bit of a chalky texture,probably from the cocco,, my daughter suggested using bakers chocolate instead of cocco but I havent checked to see if it is soy free yet.
  18. I have been sooooo sensitive lately that when I want/need chocolate i make these Open Original Shared Link I am afraid to eat anything right now unless I am POSITIVE it wont be harmful I use coconut oil and leave out the chocolate chips Keep me posted if you find something good

Thankfully I can still eat beans Inexpensive cuts of meat ,beans ,sweet potatoes , berries and rice make up the majority of my diet.I try to include what veggies i can tolerate but they are questionable right now When I first went gluten free i went a little crazy with the gluten free breads ect.... but now I make black bean brownies or some other...

  22. For me having any amount of gas means I have consumed something I should not have. Soy gives me the WORST gas ever but no abdominal discomfort until the D .

  25. I know you right,, but it is so hard to see him waste away and be so ill. I am afraid he will not even consider a gluten free lifestyle with out a diagnoses. He wants to see it in print before he will believe it
