  2. Have you tried quinoa Open Original Shared Link or amaranth Open Original Shared Link My understanding is that they are not actually grains but seeds.Both are gluten free. Both are high in protein and are a complete protein.

  7. Beans seem to be OK, and I do get some protein from dairy and eggs. I have been trying to eat more veggies too..,,I have never been much for vegetables. I feel lost sometimes and very frustrated, Anyone know where they hid the handbook

    Well that just stinks ,,but I do appreciate the information.. I would rather know what is going on so i can avoid as much iodine as i can, or at least know why my DH is worse at times .. I wish i knew how to balance it all

When I has first diagnosed it took me a bit to become strict with my food,,going gluten free was very overwhelming for me at the time,, Once i became gluten free and i was feeling better I though "well it might not really effect me as much as i though" I cheated ONCE, never,never ever again !!!My reaction was Much WORSE than i remembered.....

    I have found that High Fructose Corn Syrup is a BIG problem for me so i have eliminated it ,,,man that is hard and i pretty much limit my corn to plain corn and corn tortillas

    Mine were all most gone but now seem to be as bad as ever.. Mine are only on my back and butt,,Is that unusual?I am currently eliminating soy from my diet ( I seem to react to soy as intently or possibly more so than gluten ) could it be the soy?? Fish ???

  16. I live in Northwestern PA. and i found gluten-free bisquick at my local Walmart for $4.12 a 16oz. box,, I have made the pancakes with it,,,,HEAVENLY,,, the biscuits are Ok, i have also made the Impossible pie,,it is very very good

Thanks everyone for all your input I am going have my doc do another round of blood work , I want to know want my magnesium,B 12 and vit D levels are now ,,I also am going to ask her to prescribe physical therapy for my back/spine so i can be sure i am doing the correct exercise for my spine I am leaning toward putting off meds for the osteoporosis until...
  22. I feel like such a newbie,,I knew about my B12 and Vit D levels but i never would have though to ask about magnesium .. Doesnt help that my doc has never seen a case of celiac's (diagnosed) before ,The only reason she ordered the biopsy was because i insisted after my daughters were diagnosed .. I am concerned about taking the meds for the osteoporosis,and at this point and still considering it ,,I also do weight bearing exercise but am at a lost of what else to do((exercise wise)) because of it being in the spine ..The rest of the scan showed my hips ect... still in osteopenia ,,but to be honest i am concerned because of it being my spine

I take synthroid for my hypothyroidism and I recently was diagnosed with osteoporosis in my spine and the doc wants me on medication for that.
