  3. Oh Patti - don't stress yourself out!!! You've got to learn to accept help in whatever means possible - and if it means that it isn't done to 'your own' standard so be it!..otherwise you will make yourself ill and you won't recover. Lecture over Carla, you are so lucky to have Morgan and I think it's great that all the kids help out. I'm...

The term 'lady' was added to Lucy as she clearly thinks *she* is aristocracy and we (humans) are bumbling fools who should...

  6. Snort!! ,Guffaw! , Snigger ! PATTI !!! - I can safely say I've never been accused of being a clever cook before. I only read it out of a gluten-free xmas cookbook. Hee hee!! I told my cat (Lady Lucy) that I have a new friend *Stinker* - she is not amused, she says I have betrayed her and is now sitting with her back to me My cat...

  8. Unfortunately (wouldn't you know it!) it would seem that products with Codex (especially bread ) seem to taste better. ..but if you are wanting to avoid codex I'm sure you'll get better results making your own bread.( pretty sure Glutafin do a codex free prescription bread mix ) Even better - invest in a bread maker!! I've got to say - making...
  9. Bev, - I'm not sure you'll be interested now we've established that oddly (sweet) English mince pies have no meat in them !! ..but Beef Wellington is divine (and there are NO wellington boots in it!!)
  10. Oh Stinker you clever girl - welcome to the boards (you are on my friends list Sweetie ) LOL!! ...err this is another one of those cupboard moments !! A cultural difference between us peeps. 11. Hi Mike, The 'is codex safe?' debate rumbles on and on in the UK. Some coeliacs seem to react, some don't. Have a read of this old thread Open Original Shared Link Confusing I know!! It's a personal thing. All I can say is my hubby and son have it occasionally without any upset.
  12. How come I don't receive e-mail notification that someone wants to be my friend??? ( If there are any of course!! ) EDIT: Ok, I checked my email account and it does tell me I am on someones 'friend list', BUT I don't get any notifications?
  13. .... You see Susan...we CAN cook! ...just in an uncomplicated way!! I myself am recovering from a mince pie fest (although in my avatar they look like mini frisbees I can assure you they were plump and juicy!! )
  14. Well of course he can!!!... but maybe he could wear some 'puppy pants/ diaper when he comes over!!
  15. Suzie, I would consider getting him tested again as this was what my son most complained of. My son's first coeliac panel was neg, but came up high positive around 11 months later. My hubby was dx 2 yrs ago and it was only this that made me look for symptoms in my kids. My middle son never complained of stomach ache but did have pretty loose stools...

  17. Excellent title!! ..but you should put in a small disclaimer that it's not for beginners I mean WHAT IS QUINOA???. I have a box in my kitchen untouched - I was put off because you have to SOAK IT before cooking Exactly!! I do feel that for those of us that are challenged in the culinary arts a glass (or two ) of wine is essential...

  19. GOOD GRIEF SUSAN!!! That is a recipe and a half. 22. I love the name Tyler!! I wanted it for my youngest - but hubby wasn't keen We couldn't agree on a name until my Mum suggested Martin (with Tyler as a middle name ) ..But, I like Charlie as well!!
  23. Hi Liz, I'm in England. Can you not get prescription (from your GP) gluten-free foods in Ireland ?
  24. It is possible. My hubby had negative bloods (at that point he'd never been gluten-free -we'd never even heard of celiac disease..total gluten ignorance!) but went on a few days later to have biopsies which showed villous atrophy.
