  2. Minestroni soup has small pieces of pasta in it!! It can be hard eating out - and if you really want to know if you feel better gluten-free you've got to be totally gluten-free. 'If in doubt - leave it out' Maybe next time you eat out you can call ahead and see if the restaurant can provide a gluten-free meal, or get one of those dining cards...
  3. Hi Liam, I'm in the UK too. We had our first holiday abroad (since hubby's dx) this year to Tenerife and took a printed off dining card which I laminated in Spanish. 4. I have 2 coeliacs out of 5 in my house. I always rinse every thing off under the tap before putting it in the dishwasher. If it's a saucepan that's had gluten pasta in for example I wash properly with soap and and a scourer before putting in the dishwasher. ( what's the point of a dishwasher )...but it works for us
  5. Insert the name Terry (hubby) for both of the above!!!

  7. Perfect!! (sounds kind of naughty too! - I'm conjuring up a mental image of swinging dingoes!! ) Susie on backing vocals and harmonies then! Carla on the flute! (NO SINGING PLEASE!) I'll have to ask Daniel if he can have a go of the harmonica - but no vocals (he can't sing for toffee either ...will have to break it to him gently...

  17. I think that CUK article was referring to Kellogs cornflakes being taken of the gluten-free list in the UK as newer tests revealed the levels of gluten (barley malt) were in fact higher than the codex limit (200ppm) However, in the UK there are several brands of cornflakes/rice crispies that are deemed 'safe for coeliacs' BUT contain Codex levels of...

Great idea really - you can get something you really want (maybe in the January sales) My hubby and I don't usually exchange gifts ( as we've usually run out of money by the time we've sorted the 3 boys!) but he suprised me by getting me a watch I had commented on months ago.(he managed to lose my old watch whilst...
