  6. Butterscotch pie.....oh wow!!....(drooling...) I LOVE butterscotch. We are having "encores".. of the bison stuffed peppers tonight. But getting no complaints, so that's good. 8. Same here with the nettle tea and my gut. Had to stop it. I tried ginger tea--steeped it. Very good for gut, no help with bones/joints Love the tart cherry juice and seltzer with lime, but no help with the ouchies. I tried the omega oils for 2 months--for my muscles and connective tissues.....I did not notice anything. Not being a downer, just honest...
  9. I SO get this. I just got a note from my Godchild--who is having her first child soon--and I sent her what I have always sent all little ones in my life...A basket overflowing with books. Know what she told me? She still has the books I gave to her as a child....35 years later. Same with my niece and her wee ones. She saved them all too! Makes me so...
  10. omygosh....I just remembered this ...and I had not thought about it in years. It is not a sad story, honest. It's one of those pure magic ones. I had suffered my first miscarriage (on Christmas Eve of all days ) and was I very blue and trying hard to" rally" for the ex ...and I was so distraught and sad. I lived far away from my family and friends...

You should see me in the audience---5,000 kids ...and me--whooping it up and crying and yes, squealing like a little girl. SANTA!! I wanted to be a Rockette, but this is the closest I have come hahaha...
  12. Hi again Katty! You are likely having a gluten withdrawal if your memory feels off and you feel yucky right now. Hold tight--it will pass. Drink a lot of water--both of you. Walking is very good for you guys. You say it is winter now. I do not know where you live, but maybe you can drive to a shopping center and walk around inside? (you wouldn...

  19. oh boy, this just begs for a naughty response.... .and I will refrain. I know ways to make my hubs....er,...ahem...anyhoo I am very happy you will be feeding giraffes. I had the chance to feed them--and other wild animals---at the Catskill Game Farm in NY when I first moved to NY from Bahston in 1984. and I have to say....I squealed with delight...

  21. And this is why we thought it would be okay to call it Dinner and a Chat Seriously, girls....as someone who has had abnormal paps many times, a surgical breast biopsy and a mass removed... and who now undergoes mammos (the new digital mammos and ultra sound) sometimes as often as every 6 months, I can honestly say DO NOT PANIC or lose any sleep--just...
  22. I can relate to being thrilled by a mom's kudos on our cooking. Mine was here for Thanksgiving. Her amazing apple pie was legendary and always my Birthday cake ---and I actually cried at the prospect of never having that flaky deliciousness ever again when I was Dxed. She went gluten-free after my diagnosis, so no more pie was made. Fast forward to...

  24. Thank you for reinforcing this to all of us, Patti. When I first came on c.com, it was stories like yours and Shroom's and so many others who had to persevere to find a safe repertoire of foods to heal and get well. I say it so often to others, but really need to hear it myself sometimes. Time means healing. I have revamped my diet so many times, it...
  25. I don't mind the "no grains" thing that much. Primal eating is very good. It's the inconvenience . Many of my best recipes include those grains: risottos, mexican, asian, rice pilafs, etc. It's just the idea of one more thing to have to "give up" I mean, why couldn't I have issues with eel, sweetbreads, brains, even snotty marshmallow fluff...
