  1. I had been diagnosed with celiac about 5 yrs ago after loosing alot of weight and things have been good since until last Friday. I ate out and think I may have been glutened. Since then my stomach has been upset and I have had diarrhea and loose mucus stools, sorry to be gross. this has been going on now for 7 days and I thought I would be over it by now...
  2. Try to accept the fact that you will not feel very good but DO NOT let this take over all your thoughts. Find something to keep you busy and try to live instead of letting all your fears take over.
  3. It's happened to me more than once and I have learned that the more I worry about it the harder the weight is to put on. Relax and don't stress yourself out, it will happen. Other than that, try working out and drinking some protein shakes to build your muscles. Start slow though.
  4. Having been gluten free for over 3 years and recently alchohol free, I am looking for ideas for something good to drink at a few holiday parties I will be attending soon. Nothing too fancy but something other than a soda or water. Does anything go good with 7 up or ginger ale? I appreciate any suggestions, Merry Christmas.
  5. Before going gluten-free I was 205 lbs, very fit and muscular and worked out three times a week. I then got sick and lost alot of weight, down to around 150. After being told I had celiacs (18 months ago) I have felt alot better and am up to 180 lbs. Now the problem, 4 months ago I was back to working out three times a week using my old routine but have...
  6. Yes, just when they stopped asking all the same questions all of us have answered again and again.
  7. Dominos just made alot of celiacs' lives more complicated, in my case a co-worker was very excited and told me "from now on when we order pizza for lunch, we are definately going to Dominos so you can eat with us again". When I told her I wasn't quite sure it would be safe, she just stared at me and said "but they say its gluten free so you can eat it"....
  8. Try the Kirklands pulled pork at costco, tasty. I also like to get a few bags of (kirkland) mission chips which are cheap and are great to munch on between meals.
  9. just brainstorming. Yes, looking for more cals in my diet as I am looking to gain a few pounds after losing alot b4 going gluten-free. thankyou for your responses!
  10. I could use your help with ideas for new side dishes I can try. I have always been a meat and potatoes guy b4gf and still enjoy my steaks, chicken, turkey..., but am growing tired of the same sides, (rice,3-4 days a week, potatoes 2-3 days a week) and maybe oreida fries or gluten-free pasta (very $$) once in a while. I also have my share of veggies and...
  11. There are some gluten-free beers out there including redbridge which is made by budweiser and seems to be the most popular. Most whiskey, vodkas and brandys are fine, I personally have never had a reaction to any of them. Google gluten-free beverages to get a complete list.
  12. Its funny you bring this up because 2 days ago the same thing happened to me, for some reason I took a smell of this milk and it was awful, (exp. date in july), and I have not touched it since. I don't have an answer but after reading your post, I am guessing this must just be the way it smells. Hopefully we will get an answer.
  13. I tried the cookie and brownie mix on two seperate occasions and had a reaction both times, so now I just stay away.
  14. no, but I want to thank everyone for your responses, it was probably a stupid question but I am still abit paranoid about what goes in my body. I think I will try it first with a small bowl of cerial, thanks again Mike
  15. After starting the gluten-free diet a few months ago and not seeing any immediate changes, I stopped drinking milk and avoided dairy. Now a few months later I feel much better, but looking back maybe I should have given the new diet more time to work before eliminating the dairy products. The cost of lactose free milk is very $$, I don't realy have alot...
  16. I lost about 40 pounds in only 3 months, going from 200 to 160. I was very concerned with my weight loss and in a hurry to put the pounds back on after going gluten-free, becoming obsessed with how many calories I was eating during the day, writing it down and trying to get myself to eat more day after day. Nothing changed and I was frustrated and still...
  17. My wife bought a Archer farms ham for easter and after alot of time searching thier website, can't find anything about gluten, so I turn to this forum again for help. If anyone knows if they are gluten free or not, please respond. Thanks.
  18. I had lost about 35 pounds in about 3-4 months but finally starting to level off and not lose anymore. I eat alot of meat, rice, veggies and fruit. This forum taught me to increase my protean and not worry so much about cals, that helped me feel much better and the weight is starting to slowly come back. Throw in a couple ensures and high protein snacks...
  19. Being a budweiser guy, I tried redbridge recently and found it to be ok, nothing great. The price was abit high for me, around $10 for a six pack of bottles. I am curious what others opinions are of the gluten-free beers. The best tasting, best price, worse overall... Its tough out there for a gluten-free beer drinker.

Glutengladi8or, what types of protein shakes would you recommend?
  21. I have only been gluten-free for a couple months but had alot of anxiety in the evenings and on other occasions. I got some help from some meds (which I am still on) that a psychiatrist gave me. Even with that, I still have abit of anxiety but nothing close to where I was. Hope that helps, good luck.
  22. The cookies were very good also except after eating a couple the first time I had some stomach pain, tried again a few days later and wound up with bad cramps. Made sure everything was on the up and up with gluten-free and pans, unless something else caused the trouble. Sorry to be a downer, I will try the brownies next.
  23. I was referred to a dietitian by my doctor and it was no help to me, everything she told me I already knew from this site and other research I have done. I was actually suprised how little she knew but that was just my experience, it may be helpful for others.
  24. Another newbie question, I've been gluten free now for about 3-4 weeks and did not feel much better until early this week when I started to feel very good again. I have lost alot of weight in the past 3 months and finally I was starting to eat better, around 2000 cals/day and more protein, (bms getting back to normal). Today I woke up, had my usual ensure...
  25. Yes, I have seen a hemotologist and my wbc and plts are down abit but she said not low enough to worry about. I do feel better today and havent gone in a couple days. I have been told my intestines still may be confused about the gluten-free diet, not sure how long before it settles down. Thanks for the concern and response.
