  1. The 'Find Me Gluten Free' Ap and website i think was working on a Gluten free product identifier feature. Basically you scan the bar code on the product and it tells you from reviews or a central database of product info. if it contains gluten or not. However, its been in beta for over a year now, which frustrates me. What a useful tool that would be for...
  2. uh, no that one has never occured to me. I make it a point to never drink tap water unless its boiled first. I always drink bottled water. I learned that lesson the hard way from traveling out of the country. I know its in toothepaste but do they even make a flouride free one? Also, do you have a link to this study? I'm curious, but it seems worse than...
  3. Definitley. I've heard the longer you go the more sensitive you get. But each person's level of reation is different, so only you can tell if its good or bad.
  4. ok, that's what i thought. I just wanted confirmation. I'm trying to figure out why my doctor would want to run the test again. I tried explaining to him that I haven't eaten gluten in over 2 years but he seemed to not hear me. He wants to diagnose me again for whatever reason, or at least figure out why i'm loosing weight, and have constant stomach pain...
  5. What's the story with the Celiac blood test. Is it accurate? Do GI doctors live by this result? I had one done in 2011 that showed I had it apparently, and now just had another (new GI) and it shows normal levels. I'm not sure what to do with that. Should i call my GI and ask him?

Just started taking them yesterday. I'm cautiously optomistic.
  7. Overwhelmed, angry, frustrated, and yes hopeless at times. These are all normal feelings. You can always come here, day or night, and there is usually always someone online that is willing to listen. Sometimes thats the best help you can get.
  8. It's extrememly frustrating to me that every social gathering or function has to be based around food or alcohol. The whole act of eating or consuming food has becoming this social experiment. I need to relax while I'm eating, and adding a ton of people to it just stresses me out. Eating out in a resataruant, worrying about poor service, bacteria from unwashed...

It does. But I haven't drank it for a long time and wasn't feeling any better, so I figure I need to get some type of nutrition since I cannot eat anything right now. Or not much of anything. I've asked before if anyone new of something better and never got any responses, so I'm stuck with this. I will ask my GI about it next week probably. I imagine he...

No, I've never tried one before. But I actually have seen that Culturelle one in the pharmacy I go to. I'm going to get some. I just wanted to hear that someone else with Celiac had tried it. Here's a pic of my dog http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y468/dasfunk/385398_10150330794211324_1899655000_n_zps72007471.webp
  11. They will discharge you. I was discharged for this and numerous other medical reasons. Some of the things I've seen people turned away for or discharged: Allergies, diabetes, scoliosis, flat feet, plantar faciitis, asthma, bone spurs, chronic nose bleeds, overweight/obese and failing PT, and a lot of other stuff I can't recall right now. The worst was a...

Thanks everyone. I'm still not feeling myself, but at least I'm functioning. Been on FODMAPS for two weeks now and I need minimal improvement. I'm going to stick it out a little longer until I see my GI next week. Maybe they will have some suggestions about it. The only soy i'm getting now is from Ensure shakes twice a day. But other than that I've had...
  13. it seems to be helping so far and I'm tolerating it as well as I tolerate anything now days. It helps to fill in those gaps. I'm simply just not ever really hungry. My constant nausea and pain in my stomach overrides my need to eat. I've tried explaining this to Drs. but they just don't seem to get it, they always say 'just eat more'. If I could live off...

You are quite welcome. Sweden!!?? wow. I didn't know they had a tick problem there. I would have thought the cold would have killed them off. I have a cocker spaniel. He is 7 years old. He likes the walking for sure, but sometimes its nice to go by myself. Half the time he ends up dragging me to where I feel like the one being walked, not him. I...

Well they are really good. You for sure have talent. I've had to cut out a lot of old friends for various reason, Celiac being one of them. But I've tried some new things in that time. I'm not the most social person as it is and with health issues now I sometimes have to force myself out. I've played softball and kickball up until last winter. Yes adult...

"CT scan was negative for mass, fluid, or signs of inflammation. Positive non obstructing kidney stone, no swelling of kidney noted. Continue plan for you to see GI specialist" From my Dr this morning. Good and bad I guess. But I'm taking it as good for now. I'm sure the GI will want to probe further. Now everyone can tell me how silly I was.

Wow Dani, your work is really good. I especially like the picture of the old race car. Is that done on computer or are you drawing/painting by hand? it reminds me of water color. You are very talented. I feel your pain with the Celiac's. Its can be a lonely life, but its part of who you are. If someone can't accept that, then you should work to surround...
  18. Not normally, the symptoms besides that sound like it. It sounds more like an allergic reaction and/or some anxiety type IBS mixed in. Usually Celiac wouldn't trigger that fast as it would take a bit to reach your intestine. I suffer almost identical problems. Eating out can be stressful for anyone in our situation. Even reassurance from the places staff...

I took it upon myself to cut out everything and see a dietician a couple weeks ago. and with little or no cheating I've eliminated everything with FODMAPS but i'm still feeling horrible. Its frustrating. I will for sure let everyone know when the test comes back, and hopefully you can all poke fun at me and tell me how I was worried about nothing. I'm...
  20. myfitnesspal does that. I use it to track calories, but it does a tone of other stuff too. and its free!!
  21. wow, that sounds more like food poisoning, but yeah. I've had that happen before. One of the last times I tried eating out I ate a Mexican place that same thing happened to me. They even had very limited items with Gluten in them, but I still caught something. it was slower to come on to me, but exact same symptoms. Sometimes your body just needs to get...

thank you both. I'm trying my hardest not to be a hypochondriac but the internet is evil and someone should take it away from me. I'm going to play some games and walk my dog later to try and relax. This whole thing has me completely nerve racked.

I went and had a ct scan with all the dye today. I don't know why i'm so cared of the results but i'm kind of freaking out. I've had so many tests and things done in the past i'm not sure why this one is bothering me so much. I've never hoped for IBS, but I am now.
  24. what would testing for Crohn's include? I've had blood work and scopes in the past as weel as xrays and scans. but no one has every said that's what it is.
  25. ditto on the gallbladder. Dec 2010. I had a malformed bile duct. whatever that means. some type of birth defect. then got an infection after the surgery. One thing I know now. there is no such thing as a simple surgery. recovering from that was one of the hardest things I've ever done.
