  1. I would lean more toward anxiety. Either way, it is great that you are aware that you are experiencing this and can describe it. Hopefully, your doctor will be understanding. Regardless of the label you have identified the cause as being glutened. That is the biggie. Good luck with these feelings and staying gluten-free.
  2. I just shared this with my sister. I am sure she will be inspired. Thanks for sharing.
  3. After receiving my daughter's test reults which were over the top positve for ttg and gliadin ab, I had my son tested. These are his results and I believe these are all good. Please let me know if I am wrong. Iga serum 227 Reference Range: 57-300 Gliadin AB IGA 5: Reference Range <11 negative, <17 equivocal, >17 positive TTG AB (IGA) 3: Reference...
  4. This seems to one of those symptoms that I have that isn't going away as quickly as the rest. I think I may have been glutened this weekend and I am still having issues. Thanks.
  5. I highly reccommend the primal diet as well. marksdailyapple.com is full of wonderful info, encouragement, and recipes.
  6. Oh dear me. I was so happy about his results eventhough it was just the ttg. Evidently, the others are not back yet. I will have to wait until tomorrow for that. My daughter was just diagnosed last Tuesday. Well sort of: ttg>100 gliadin>100. Sorry, I don't have the results in front of me. My daughter is all for the new way of eating. She is amazing...
  7. Why do you mention your son's Asperger's. My son has that and I just tested him because my daughter and I have celiac disease. Is there a connection with celiac disease and Aspergers? I was only told his ttg numbers which were negative. Thanks.
  8. Well, so far, I have lost 12 pounds since January. I still have a lot (35 to go), but I think it is because I have thrown out the processed foods. Blueberries are my friend. I think too that now my body is just letting go of the wieght. I hope it continues. After the first week or so of gorging on the gluten-free cookies, because I can, I slowed down. This...
  9. After I typed a nice long response I accidentally deleted. Maybe that is a message in itself. Anyway, I am sorry to hear that you have this also. I don't really have any experience with this, but I can share what I read. The flours we gluten-free folks use as replacements for the evil wheat flour, tend to be higher in carbs. That is defintiely a concern for...
  10. Dear MEH, I understand your frustraton and anger. I hope that as you remember what a difference gluten-free made in how you feel as opposed to how you feel with gluten, you will feel more encouraged that this is a condition that can be treated with out medicine. We do not need drugs to improve our issue. We can prevent and improve so many of the symptoms...
  11. Sorry, I missed the other similar post. I don't know how, I have read so many and gleaned much wisdom. Thanks.
  12. I realize that many of us are sensitive to other things in addition to gluten. For instance, nightshade veggies do not like me. With respect to celiac and intestine damage, is it only gluten that causes damamge and the others just make us feel awlful or does everyhting we react to cause more intestine damage? I am not looking for a loop-hole in eating, just...
  13. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgis just last September. I went gluten free in January of this year. 3 days later I started to feel better. I am off of my meds. Your list of other illnesses is all related. These others will improve with a new lifestyle of healing eating. Try it for a while, just a couple of weeks and see what happens. You will prevent further...
  14. Thanks, you all are making me feel better this morning.
  15. Celiac, gluten-free and all that is a lot, but I can handle it. The thing that scares me now is the last couple of sentences of the main page here about the huge increase in cancer risk. I am wondering what you thoughts are on how long do you need to be gluten-free before you can start to worry less about this. I have had celiac symptoms for at least a year...
  16. So my daughter's positive >100, when the reference range is <5, is probably fairly certain a positive for Celiac? We are waiting to see the GI doc. She is gluten-free as of yesterday when we got the results.
  17. Well, since my daughter's blood test indicate Celiac, what is next? I knwo we need to go to the GI doc. Aside from the possibility of an endoscope/biopsy, what blood tests should I ask for? Vitamin and mineral deficiencise? Nutritonal related? Vitamin D? I haven't been diagnosed officially either, but I go to the endocrinologist soon for a thyroid check...
  18. Thank you both for your responses. I was thinking that would be the thinking on these numbers. Her first thougths were, "What about college?" University of Maryland at College Park is her first choice (not for 2 years, but she is a planner). I spoke with the head dietician today and she was wonderful. She even answered her own phone. She said that they have...
  19. My experience and understanding is that with food sensitivities, it can take any where from a few hours to 3-4 days to have a reaction. Since this isn't an allergy which usually happens right away (hives, etc.) it is often difficult to determine the cause. Sounds like it to me. I will be interested to see what others say. I hope you feel better quickly.
  20. Your fiance is a lucky man. You may have just discovered his "cure." What does he say to your thoughts now that he is on the shake?
  21. My 15 yo dd just received blood test results. We are waiting for a referral to a GI doc, but of course, I can't wait for info. She has juvenile rheumatoid arthritis in remission and Hashimoto's thyroiditis. I am gluten intolerant, but I have not been tested for celiacs because I have been gluten-free for a while. I asked to have Elizabeth tested becasue of...
