  1. My sister is getting tested today. I just sent her the list of things to get tested for along with vitamin deficiencies too. I am so glad she is being tested. She doesn't have gastro symptoms, but she has others and she has hashimoto's. I just had blood work done yesterday for Vit d, B12, ferratin. and folate along with my thyroid stuff. I am really hoping...
  2. Wow, thanks Quincy! I am having bloodwork this week for thyroid and vitamin deficiencies. Thanks for the info.
  3. I would like to think that the pain in my abdomen is my intestines healing. I have never had it before the last couple of weeks. I have been gluten free since 1/17/11, except for a few mistakes. Above my belly button, below my sternum. I hope that is what it is. It comes and goes. It ususally goes after I do. sorry for TMI. Any opinions?
  4. My skin is better on my face. It is was tough to have a Mary Kay business if you skin around your eyes looks terrible. Turns out it was the gluten. Business is better.
  5. I am wondering what is in your etc.? I was diagnosed with fibro in September 2010, but since going gluten free, most of the symptoms have gone away. I am nightshade, MSG, aspertame, milk (not cheese and sour cream) free.
  6. You may be onto your own publishable diet with those foods. I can do all those as long as I make sure I don't have any skin from the chicken. I would be much better off if I followed this list. I have said often in the last few months that I don't mind that I can't eat a long list of foods, just please someone give me the list, no matter how short, of...
  7. My main symptoms of celiac have been muscle pain/neuropathy, gerd, and constipation. I have been gluten-free since the middle of January. It was going great until a few weeks ago when I had serious glutening issues. My reaction was a return of the muscle pain and neuropathy. That had pretty much cleared up after a week and a half when I went to eat a "gluten...
  8. That is great news. GLuten free has definitely helped with my anxiety. Good luck and stay safe.
  9. Okay, I am trying to figure out the intense abdominal pain and D since yesterday. I had ice cream.I have been eating cheese and sour cream since my elimination diet, but no ice cream. I have had pudding and have been fine. My question is... does cooking the milk, as in pudding, affect the lactose reaction. I am not sure if I am lactose intolerant, but haven...
  10. Susie Q, you are too great of a girl to take this. Real, true friends would not do this to you. Stay strong and be good to yourself.Stay well. THis is really frustrating, but I am sure there are more good people in your life. I don't know where you are, but you are always welcome for a gluten free meal at my house.
  11. I am glad to hear he is being tested. I hope the gluten-free lifestyle will help him feel better.
  12. Funny about the reports, sort of. I am confused that you say don't have a nightshade issue, but your joints hurt and you have gas and bloating. I am curious what other problems people have with nightshades if these aren't problems. I get intense shoulder pain with potatoes and tomatoes.Do you think it is a fructose malabsorption problem rather than a nightshade...
  13. I miss potatoes. My waist and hips do not, but my mouth does. Hopefully after some healing I will eat them again.
  14. Once you completely eliminate the gluten, you will begin to feel even better. The problem is that just a bit starts reactions. As far as the sinus stuff, it cold be related to dairy. Many celiacs are lactose intolerant until their intestines heal. Congestion issues are often responses to dairy. I don't know that you really need to name your diet, but you...
  15. That is great news. May not for the old goat, but certainly for you. Wishing you continued health and happiness.
  16. I am sensitive to rice too, I think. I was enjoying gluten-free rice cereal each morning, but then I was getting that stomach feeling which I now know is from glutening. I stopped the cereal and my tummy is better. Grains and I just don't get along.
  17. Unos has gluten-free pizza. My daughter is 15 and we just discovered her celiac. You can do it!!!
  18. I really feel for you with all of your symptoms. If you have found that a gluten-free diet helps so much, I would really just keep with it. Especially if insurance is an issue. I am sorry to hear what a bad time you had with that doctor. How ridiculous to make a separate appointment for each symptom. How bizarre. Of course, it depends how important an official...
  19. I had a "nervous" stomach when I was young. I was diagnosed as hyperthyroid at 9 and medicated for that until I was 23 and had it removed. Now replacement synthroid. I had always eaten a lot and anything. When I was 35 we moved (dh in the navy we moved a lot,but this was difficult), bought a house, added an addition, had an extended visit from mil, and I...
  20. Oh my goodness I am so sorry for the pain and suffering you have experienced at the hands of incompetent doctors. I am praying that your new gluten free lifestyle will bring relief as quickly as possible. I am curious about the fevers. My father used to have them and then they went away after several months. I do not know if he has celiac. He is 86 and hasn...
  21. Open Original Shared Link I just found this and it had some helpful info.
  22. I am convinced the latest issues are cross contamination from my kitchen. I know the gluten-free lunchmeat cut on the store slicer gave me gluten for a week 2 weeks ago and I am still recovering. I haven't done a lot with my kitchen, but today is the day. I did rearrange the pantry, but today it shall be cleaned. The fridge and the cooking utensil drawers...
  23. I'm 3 for 3 also. Lucky us eatmeat4 good. My skin is a problem that hasn't resolved yet from being gluten free for 3 months, but I am still having some neuro issues (burning, tinglung muscles) from my lunchmeat gluttening fiasco almost 2 weeks ago. It is improving, but not gone yet.
  24. Domesticactivist----Where are you that you can buy raw milk? That would be great.
  25. Good for your daughter being safe. I would hope that if she explained she just can't eat it because of medical reasons the person who brought the cake would understand. I am sorry that your mother thought her being careful was rude and that this was more important than her health. Does your daughter's celiac come from your husband's family? How long has your...
