ARCHIVED Odd Aching, Anyone Else? Oh And Raised Tattoosrgarton replied to rgarton's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Thanks, it actually makes sense, i will ask my doctor again just to double check, but i think it could be a result of holding myself in a certain way whilst my lower abdomen was going through healing... thanks again!

ARCHIVED Odd Aching, Anyone Else? Oh And Raised Tattoosrgarton posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Okay i've been gluten-free since end of January this year. I initially went to the doctor last year because i had a very odd aching, its right of my belly button but its exactly 4inches across then 3 inches up (checked with a tape measure ). She kept checking for appendicitis but obviously your appendix isn't there so she basically shrugged her shoulders...

ARCHIVED Intense Period Painrgarton posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease I finally have my period back which is good news but my god ive never felt so much pain with it in my life. I am on Contraceptive Pill Cezerette. Yesterday evening i was really hungry but my stomach was cramping and making really loud sounds so i ate a normal amount and had a hot water bottle to be on the safe side. Oh i had baked potato, with a touch of...

ARCHIVED Annoying Friends!rgarton replied to Victoria6102's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff That is just outright bullying, and shouldn't be tolerated at all. All my friends are really understanding and caring fortunatly, my partner has even made our whole house gluten free to keep me safe and makes me lunches if i have to go anywhere, gets me hand gel incase i touch anything that someone else has had and writes my name on water bottles! I feel...

Oh and they itched the hell outta me! I had so many scabs on my back from scratching them, she said that was just harming my back more and to put plenty of moisturizer on

I started to get little bumps on my back after i went gluten free, i have always had an exceptionally clear back so i was slightly concerned. I asked my doctor to have a look the other day and she said that because my immune system was recovering i was more susceptible to minor heat rash from sleeping in a tshirt. And from using shampoo/conditioner/body wash...

ARCHIVED Negative Blood Test, But Have Regular Celiac Symptoms?rgarton replied to mikacurl247's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms I'm sorry your feeling so lousy, i don't know the sore butt feeling but general achiness yes! My mum has been celiac most her life but has only just got a dignosis, at 43! Shes had countless blood tests for celiac that all came back negative so when i got diagnosed she opted to have the biopsy, painless! And it came back positive! So ask for a biopsy and...

ARCHIVED Is The Abdominal Pain A Symptom?rgarton replied to mommyto2kids's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease I used to get that until my month four, its part of being a celiac, all that poison trying to get out of your system, and its still in there destroying your villi, so very normal!

ARCHIVED Is This Normal Now? Whats Your Expereince?rgarton replied to rgarton's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Thanks guys this is quite reassuring, gives me sense of peace for next morning I guess when you don't really know its hard to ask other people face to face! Not the best topic of conversation. They don't quite hold together but im guessing thats because of the amounts of fruit and salad i eat?

ARCHIVED Is This Normal Now? Whats Your Expereince?rgarton posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Okay I got diagnosed in late January this year. I've been gluten free since with 2 hiccups at the beggining. In month four i found out i wasn't seeing a difference to the gluten free diet because i was reacting to soy, worked this out thanks to you guys btw! So after that it all started to turn around, finally. But the problem is all my life, unknowingly...

I found out why i was losing weight so rapidly and its because i didn't have enough protein and my iron levels were rock bottom. I agree with everyone else definatly get a new doctor, you need to be taken seriously. I went through 5 doctors before i found mine and she got me diagnoses within 2 weeks and found my iron levels were really low and everything...

I am five months gluten-free and still have spells like this, some people they normalize after a week and stay that way some people it can take years! Weird thing is ive been drinking ice tea last couple of days and had the 'flakiness' the last couple of days too, wonder if its related? I'm not a huge ice tea drinker either, it was a treat. Hmmm. I think...

Yeah I have to reapply for disability too... They aren't very understanding of our disease i must say. Especially in the early stages of diagnosis. I'm lucky to have such a supportive mother, she brought me a bulk of things that cost about

ARCHIVED Detox Symptoms?rgarton replied to thefreespirit's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms i got an increase of migraines until my fourth month gluten free, my doctor agrees it was probably withdrawal symptoms, and possibly soy allergy. I have had no migraines since which is reassuring though. Hope your okay.

ARCHIVED Crave Sweets All The Timergarton replied to CruiseWriter's topic in Related Issues & Disorders I found when i was very anemic i craved very sugary things like you, i found a neat trick of whenever i got that craving i'd brush my teeth, and if that didnt seem to work i used to eat a banana, small ones are sweeter, or strawberries. Exercise is never a waste of time, it increases your happy hormones, so if you think your cravings are due to emotional...

Thnaks guys. I live in England and there is a shop called Body Shop and most of their stuff is gluten free which is reassuring, but buying everything again in one bulk is a little daunting on the money side of things of course! I used Botanics Body Lotion, with the name you'd presume it would be okay but good old wheat protein makes an appearance... And my...

I think i got glutened by my body lotion, no i didnt check anything like that until i had a random gluten type reaction to something even though I am so careful. I realised it was my body lotion. This was three days ago and after being super careful i am still irritable, feeling faint before i need to go to the bathroom, the day after using my body lotion...

ARCHIVED Gluten Problem? Affect Thyroid Functionrgarton replied to norazoey's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms Aw i really feel for you. definatly try and be tested for Celiac Disease, even if you have a negative ask for a biopsy (painless!) to get a proper result. I can relate to the shakiness, palpitations, weight loss, shortness of breathe, being soooo cold all the time and pale! Everything really before i was diagnosed.

I occasionally get this, but ive asked my doctor and she claims its because im a vegetarian, eating more veg etc. And yes defiantly get the D whilst im on my period, which is unfortunate, like we celiacs havent suffered enough already! Its common with women, apparantly as the uterus is bigger before we come on is sits against our colon so usually before a...

ARCHIVED What To Do After Accidentally Eating Gluten?rgarton replied to GabrielleM's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease To help ease stomach cramps, well the pain, i use rose massage oil, i was slightly skeptical but it really helped me, i just rubbed it (warm!) clockwise on my abdomen until it turned slightly pink then replaced my heating pad

ARCHIVED Please Help A Newbie! (Glutened On Holiday?)rgarton replied to snowbug's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease It does sound like you have indeed been glutened, where abouts are you in Europe? In italy they don't seem to understand that it can't even have been sitting next to normal bread, actually he didnt believe me when i said i couldn't consume wheat or gluten... So italy is probably the worse place to eat anything that may have wheat or gluten in. I would avoid...

Yeah I soon realised my favourite lip balm from MAC has soy and traces of gluten in it and it was making me so ill! Within hours, I thought it was kinda a myth about make up and stuff but obviously not!

ARCHIVED Rumbly Grumblyrgarton replied to Greentealady's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Aw i feel for you i really do. It will take a while and you do have to be super careful (cross contamination is hell!), i do get the sweats before needing a bathroom visit, also feeling faint! I'm underweight so i don't think its to do with your size. I also don't go anywhere at the moment because i feel so 'yucky'. You may find going for a short walk around...
