  1. I think he'll go and see a doctor if i show him this, i also spoke to my doctor today and she agrees that it could definatly have a part to play! Thanks for all the info, very much appreciated! x
  2. Oh yeah definatly cross contaminated! I get that with airbounre flour if it is around, even cleaning it up gives me an attack! Maybe ask them to try making gluten-free bread, there are some great mixes out there and means you wont get zombified! They taste great too! x
  3. I only got diagnosed a couple of months ago and feel that frustration but ignoring it will make you worse over time. I became severly anemic, almost needing a blood transfusion. I am also a vegetarian and am coping fine now. I have iron tablets to boost my iron. And going out isn't always a problem, tell your husband to suck it up and be supportive! He was...
  4. I found rubbing rose oil into my stomach, massaging clockwise helped alot and sipping black sweetened tea stopped all nausea and doesnt taste as bad as ginger tea! I do not like ginger tea at all. And just relaxing! Just lie down on the sofa and chill out reading or watching something, staying warm as well! I find if im cold i feel so much worse, being anemic...
  5. Sounds awful! Such a shame its gone on so long as well. Must be exhausting in fact! You cna order a test online for celiac disease, its a prick test, so not a full on blood test, it tests specifically for celiac disease, maybe try that? And then ask for a biopsy. It strue celiac is for life and just finding out can make you breathe a sigh of relief!
  6. What a wonderful Idea! 1. Mrs Crimbles Coconut Macaroons 2. Rice cakes with peanutbutter and jam 3. Twirls! 4. Kettle Chips (Lightly Salted) 5. Popcorn 6. Olives 7. Any fruit 8. Marks And Spencers gluten-free Lemon Cake (I felt like crying when i found this and how good it was!) 9. Tortilla Chips with Sour Cream&Chive and humus 10. Tescos...
  7. I live in England, used to live in London. There is a huge range now which is comforting. Like previous users have said the Free From range is very good and Marks And Spencers have a lot of free from food, get her to try percy pigs (sweets) they are amazing Oh and Mrs Crimbles Coconut Macaroons I always find are a good travelling food to have.
  8. Twirls, by Cadbury, just chocolate they are really good, intense chocolate hit! Over in England this is what i eat and they are suitable for celiacs. Its the only chocolate i dont react too, and no soy either which is a bonus for me!
  9. It seems odd that they would create a vaccine when its so easy to not use wheat and gluten, considering the diagnosis is on the rise every year, (its more than 1/100 people now!) why would they invent a drug to stop your body telling you that it really doesn't like what your giving it. I always say go with your instincts if your body is telling you something...
  10. My mother just went through a similar thing, and her units didn't go up at all, it said negative, she has been getting negative blood work back since she was 23 (shes now 46) then she finally got offered the biopsy and had it and she most definalty has celiac disease! I hope you do go for the biopsy and have a clear idea, its always good knowing whats going...
  11. Well if you got recently diagnosed then you should definatly have her checked anyway. And have her thyroid checked it may be hyper if shes constantly eating. Good luck.
  12. Okay, I got diagnosed with celiac disease in January, just after me and my partner moved in together. He was hugely supportive and we brought all new cooking equipment and he went gluten-free with me. He didn't have any withdrawals, and said he felt good, better than he had done in a while in fact. So then he went out with his work friends to Pizza Express...
  13. I got told i had bi polar from the age of about 7, yeah i know so young. My mum refused to put me on medication and put it down to me being emotionally intelligant for my age. She started to worry when i was about 14, i got told over and over again i had bi polar or depression. My mum again didn't want to put me on drugs, which i thank her for, she didn't...
  14. One of my major issues when i was undiagnosed was anxiety, OCD, panic attacks (to the point of losing consciousness) and having night terrors, which was not good wherever and whoever your living with! After getting diagnosed and being gluten-free i noticed my anxiety wasn't present everyday and i have only had one panic attack in 5 months *touch wood* wheras...
  15. Not a wimp at all! I have had to have lots of time off, and can't even consider getting a job right now, even a simple walk into town to look for jobs sent me into a dizzy spin, had to lie down in case i fainted. Can't exactly work in that condition! My doctor said she was glad i didn't have a job because it reduced the stress which meant my healing process...

I found that problem with myself recently in social situations and a simple "I really can't risk being ill just in case" works most times, friends should not be offended and should understand. Explain about cross contamination and that ANYTHING they use to bake or cook that has been in contact with gluten (at any point in time) will cause your son to be ill...
  17. Hey sorry for your struggles at the moment! I can totally relate though! And don't say sorry for ranting! It feels good to have a rant sometimes! You basically are on the diet I am on, and was on as soon as i went gluten-free. I didn't notice any improvement until 5 months after going gluten free. I envy the people that feel better after a week! I guess...
  18. I was diagnosed at the beginning of my relationship, which was very tricky. I dealt with depression and anxiety too, I've spoken to my doctor about having anxiety management and also maybe taking some medication to help with the stress of it all. I'm not saying jump onto pills but maybe get some management of your own too? With not having a job, if money...
  19. I found eating plain boiled rice, (I know boring but sensitive on the stomach and bulks up stools!) occasionally with leeks as a main meal and eating bananas is also soothing on the stomach and can help prevent diarrhea. Also sipping plain black tea with some sugar helps ease the nausea. Like shadowicewolf said drink lots of water keep you hydrated. I...
  20. Hi, i went through loads of up and down days until my 5month after being diagnosed, then it started to slow down. I do still get random days of loose bms and crying for no reason and feeling achy all over but im pretty sure its a healing process. I mean we have been poisoning ourselves for god knows how long im not surprised! Hopefully it'll settle into a...
  21. I get a hugely loud grumbly rumbly tummy, rarely aches, just occasionally. I've found it's when i eat vegetables in the evening and if i go to bed shortly after or if im sprawled out on the sofa relaxing my tummy is often as loud as the t.v. My partner thinks its hilarious. My mum has the same reaction to eating veggies in the evening. (shes coeliac too)
  22. Man your doctor sounds like the doctor who said my mum couldn't be coeliac because she was 1 pound overweight!(YES only 1 pound) and because she ate oats in the morning (uncontaminated ones), i had just been diagnosed with coeliac disease then, she has now got a positive diagnosis. So i phoned up that doctor and let her know my thoughts, now im giving a speech...
  23. I know this may sound a little out there to some people and i was hugely skeptical but i tried Hypnotherapy to help with my panic attacks, severe anxiety and that feeling of complete hopelessness. I was so suprised, i had a few sessions and i was fine, and when im feeling a bit low again i have one session or two as a pick me up.
  24. I initially got worse, i think people put it down to gluten withdrawal! Which seems odd but i had exactly the same pains and all for about 4 months, which hopefully won't be as long for you! After 4 months i started to feel a bit better. Good luck!
  25. Hi, sounds odd! I don't have a burning sensation as such but i did develop a soy intolerance after eating it almost everyday after being diagnosed with celiac disease and possible lacto-intolerance. It now gives me almost the same effects as if i have eaten gluten! It was very miserable until i realized what it was that was causing it. I use lacto-free milk...
