  1. My improvement has continued and I'm still working one day every week. It feels really good to be working all day and still feel okay at the end of the day - and I now get my treatments at half-price as I work every week
  2. Aren't infused oils great? I always have a collection of them - such an easy way to add flavour to cooking. Now, get on with starting your blog with gorgeous recipes and cooking tips!! Tonight I'm doing free-range corn-fed chicken portions, once they've cooked for a bit I'll add chorizo, crushed dried chillies, thyme, tomato puree, red peppers,garlic,onions...
  3. love2travel - have you ever thought of putting some of your recipes into a booklet? I for you would love to buy it - exciting recipes and all gluten free, who wouldn't!?! 5. If it was me, Katie, I'd go gluten free right now. If you have a good relationship with your GP or,rate him/her as an exceptionally good one, then I would call for an appointment tomorrow. If not, can you change to a GP who perhaps a friend or family member has recommended? The first GP I went to about my fatigue over 3 years ago was lovely and when my...
  6. You're not being dramatic at all, Katie. You are struggling with ill-health and a six month old and getting nowhere with medical profession. No - you don't need to book yourself into a psych ward - don't ever doubt that all your pain is real. There are people on this forum much more knowledgable than I am, not only about coeliac but also about other possible...
  7. I'm also Scottish and as such had all blood tests for coeliac, thyroid, diabetes, folates and vitamin deficiences done free without having to request them and with no hold-ups. I also had dexa scan, endescopy, biopsies and ongoing GP and hospital consultant appointments free. I also as a coeliac get basic gluten free foodstuffs on prescription and in Scotland...
  8. Look forward to more posts and dutch cooking recipes! I always love having new recipes.

  10. I'd been thinking about you this past week and wondering how you were. Delighted to hear you had such a wonderful time.

  17. I've really enjoyted reading all the responses. I live in a small market town in Scotland and we have two claims to fame. Firstly it was in Lanark that William Wallace first raised his sword in his fight for Scottish freedom. Secondly, we have the oldest celebration in Scotland, called Lanimers. Click on this link to find out all about. It really is worth...

  21. I first started attending GP and hospital 3 years ago with debillitating fatigue. I'd had trouble with bowels, bloating, palpitations and joint aches all my life and just thought that everyone was the same and so never sought medical advice about these. I was finally diagnosed on 6th May this year and initially did not experience any improvement. At the...
  22. Started to feel an improvement a couple of weeks ago but for a week now I've felt better than at any point in my life! I keep thinking,' this is how other people feel, I had no idea!' I'm staying awake all day and evening, I'm walking every day, no aches, palapatations or numbness/tingling. I've even worked a day as a receptionist at the place where I go...
  23. When I started this thread I thought I may have got one or two replies. Never expected the postings that have resulted. I have been fascinated to read people roots and genetic lineage. My original youtube links were to try and convey the peculiarities of Scottish heritage (which can be very different from rest of UK). I chose them because they depicted a...
  24. I use it and have not found any difficulty.
  25. Really interesting replies! I suppose it's inevitable that Americans would have such rich and varied backgrounds. I'm chiefly Scottish but with a little bit of Irish on my paternal great-grandmother's side. So I'm solid celtic. By the way, Samie, one of my friends here in Lanark is from Tennessee. I love her accent (especially the way she says vehicle).
