  1. If you're well on the 'diet' then, like others have said, stick to it. I also agree your results will be neg when you're not eating gluten. Did the dr not check if you were eating it?
  2. My daughters bloods were very high too (she's 9). She was diagnosed on 7th June and biopsy will be 5th July. As her results are so high in blood, meds are sure biopsy will be positive. So next week is her last week of being a 'gluten'. I'm so desperate to get her off it now as she's so ill, but I don't want to mess up the biopsy. Our household will...
  3. Someone hubby works with has said, after hearing of diagnosis, 'oh, I thought it was something serious'. I have to just remember that not everyone understands, that it is serious. Untreated coeliac can lead to serious health problems. There needs to be more awareness of this out there to educate people
  4. Thing is, we don't know how long she's really been constipated. I had no idea until the scan on her bladder for another issue. She only started soiling when she was put on senokat, that's what seems to have kicked it off
  5. Mine and hubbys test came back 'normal' even though I have some of the symptoms. The rest of us will be mostly gluten free anyway because of my daughter. I might do a challenge to see if I have at least an intolerance. I read about the leaky gut bit and was told. It just doesn't make sense in my mind, if she can have a BM 3 times a day, why doesn...
  6. The odd thing with my daugher, which I've mentioned to a dr and nurse, is that she is regular, but because of soiling they say it's constipation and the xray showed impaction. She goes at least 3 times a day, but I don't witness what comes out or how much. She used to be worse by going 3 times in a row and using up tonnes of loo roll. I'm keen for her...
  7. Has anyones child been through really bad constipation that didn't clear up on meds before diagnosis? I don't know how long my daughter has had it but it was spotted on a scan for something else back in Dec. Since going on laxatives she's also been soiling. The enema didn't make a blind bit of difference and neither has her recent clearout at home on high...
  8. Thanks hun. I've just glutened myself so will see if anything happens. I'm going to pay extra close attention until I get results. It takes so long!
  9. why would gluten or corn in a soap be a problem unless you were going to ingest it?
  10. Well that was our last one anyway This week and next are our last gluten ones then we're gluten free. Bought some products to try but will still be on gluten mainly as my daughter has her biopsy on Tuesday.
  11. Thanks for the reply. I'm feeling better now. I also find I have a lot of wind in the mornings, I don't know if thats a common symptom too.
  12. I think if people knew the health risks if you are coeliac and don't cut out gluten, then they'd realise just how serious it is!
  13. PS I've been told to keep her on gluten til biopsy on Tues x
  14. We had KFC yesterday and I've had something going on with myself and my daughter. My daughter is coeliac, my tests are due back this week. I have other symptoms but don't recall this sort of reaction. We had the meal around 3pm yesterday and I was fine up until almost 7 last night. Since then I've had bad tummy pains, wind and a weird fullness, not wanting...
  15. I went to a dr yesterday about my extreme fatigue and back pain and all she could say was, 'I don't know what's wrong' and 'try exercising'. Being extremely fatigued and in pain, exercising is the last thing I want to do!!!
  16. I'm sure I will be able to add as time goes on. Already I'm freaking out about how much more money it's going to cost to feed my coeliac daughter (and poss me too). Why can't gluten free be the same price as everything else??? It feels like they're playing people who have to buy these products. The bread is the worst on price and size. I'm sick and tired...
  17. ((((((hugs))))) I get crap days too
  18. I'm another insomniac. I struggle to get to sleep and then when I do, i wake up 2 to 3 times in the night. Whats gliadin???
  19. Foods that can cause orange stool include: Any food with artificial yellow or orange coloring Carrots Cilantro Collard greens Fresh thyme Kale Sweet potatoes Spinach Turnip greens Winter squash If stool is still orange when it is eliminated, it could mean that it is not being exposed to, or absorbing...
  20. The dr today was useless. Not only did she see me 20 mins late, but she said she didn't know what was wrong with me! I went to her about the fatigue, clicking joints and extremely painful lower back. Grrrrr
  21. There's not a lot you can do although I can understand your frustration with her. I should hope that anyone who reads what she wrote will use their own minds. All you can do is educate her as best you can then leave it. There's no point arguing with someone who is adamant that they are right even when they clearly aren't. Step back, take a breather...
  22. My 9yr old daughter had blood levels of 128 and is due a biopsy next week. Her symptoms most of the time appear in the evening. She feels nauseous, headache/migraine, dizzy/faint and general unwellness within herself. Her tummy is constantly bloated and despite being off school for a clearout (constipated) on laxatives she's still soiling. She sometimes...
  23. A sensitivity to cold could be thryoid related. That's how I was, I'm now on medication. I'd also check for diabetes and anemia. Do see a dr and discuss whats been happening and if it isn't mentioned, then ask about possibilities of thyroid issues, diabetes and anemia x
  24. I was wondering about him being lactose intolerant. I think he can be tested for that or you can try eliminating dairy from his diet x
  25. Wow! Well done! There's hope for me yet! I'm 31 and feel years older. The fatigue and aches and pains are driving me nuts. I'm going to slowly become gluten free this coming week (just to ease myself into it). My blood results arent back but it can't hurt! Keep up the good work x
