  1. Did they do the Celiac blood tests on you? You have to have been eating gluten regularly to have positive tests. Also, if there wasn't obvious severe damage in your intestine it can be kind of hit or miss with the biopsy samples they take. Damage can be patchy, and if they only take a couple samples they could miss the villi changes. Your symptoms...
  2. I found it safest to just make sure my cosmetics don't have gluten or soy. Eye makeup especially seems wise to have gluten-free? I tend to rub my eyes when I'm tired or stressed, and then there's seasonal allergies that have me rubbing too. Eyes are mucous membranes. Shhh...don't tell anybody, but I've been known to get so tired I go to bed with what...
  3. I hope it works well for you Sora. It seems like when the PPIs came out the Pharmacy reps courted all the Dr.s and they switched people to those? It sounds like the Zantac is more in line with what you need?
  4. Oh no :( what is wrong?

  6. I'm SO glad you are doing better. You were having such a hard time for a while there and we were worried about you. It's amazing what those supplements can do? Keep going...each day a bit more healing should happen?
  7. You sound like so many of us here with the 20 years of no diagnosis/misdiagnosis. My Dr. had me pegged as a hypochondriac and kept telling me there was nothing wrong with me. A LOT of your other issues go right along with Celiac disease. Most Dr.s don't even think to check for Celiac. Many still think of it as a rare disease. Stay the course of...
  8. Add me to the list of those with Ovarian cysts. As it was explained to me...in a woman's cycle a little cyst forms on the ovary and bursts when the hormones tell it that it's time to. That sends the egg down the tube to the uterus. Sometimes that cyst doesn't burst when it's supposed to, and continues to grow. Sometimes they cause symptoms..and sometimes...
  9. I can understand doing the endoscope to see the state of the intestine since she's been gluten-free. I DON"T understand what could be gained by putting her back on gluten? I would want a bit of clarification on the reasoning here before putting her back on gluten.
  10. LOL!!! I like the way you think!
  11. Hi miss lady. Just checking up on you to see how your doing. I read your post about your stress too with your husband. I finally got genetic testing and it came back positive for the gene. I think I'm going to go on Zoloft to help control my anxiety because I have felt horrible lately. Let me know how your doing!

  13. Oh sweetie..it sounds like you are having such a rough time. From the site you linked it seems like you fit the description? What is your Dr. telling you? If your Dr. can't help you..maybe you should see if you can get a referral to someone else or one of the major health centers like Mayo or Cleveland Clinic if you're in the US? If you're not in...
  14. Well..it could just be a bug? Or maybe you got gluten somehow? Could also be your system working out the bad stuff in it? It's a bit confusing at first. Are you keeping a log of what you eat? I advise it to everyone starting the gluten-free diet, because sometimes we find we have other food sensitivities that have been masked by our gluten symptoms....
  15. I agree with Karen. Get an appointment for a follow up visit as soon as you can. Have the Dr. explain what the findings were, and what your treatment plan will be. Also, be sure to get copies of the reports. Keep a file of your medical info/test results. Sometimes we are told things by an untrained person who happens to answer the phone, that aren't...
  16. I'm so sorry you are having such a difficult time. This is still fairly new to you, but as you gain confidence and heal I'm sure you'll do much better? You will learn that there are some foods you can safely eat when out of the house, such as grilled meat or fish, lentils, rice, etc. The important thing is to have at least one place you can safely go to...
  17. LOL..I'm one step ahead on that. I have copies of all of my test results since July, but not the Dr.s referral or cover letter. I was told they wanted the records sent right away, because they want to look them over prior to the visit. I was in the process of switching PCPs and had to pay for copies of my older medical records. I haven't delivered them...
  18. So, it's confirmed my appointment is in Florida. I asked if they got the faxed medical records. They put me on hold for quite a while, then came back and said they didn't get any medical records..and they MUST have them! I was given the fax # and was told to have the Dr.s office send them to that #. I called and asked them to do it and they said, sure no...
  19. Congratulations! What a great reason for the "tired" symptom.
  20. Hello..and welcome! It's all very overwhelming at first. Having to give up foods you've enjoyed is hard, and a lot of us go through a bit of a greiving process. Our bodies go through a withdrawl too, which adds to the depression of it all. If your vitamin/mineral levels are off they add into your mood too. Just be sure to check the ingredients carefully...
  21. Well..hubby has always been a bit selfish, and doesn't seem to have any "protective instincts" in regards to my safety? He thinks nothing of asking me to go somewhere on my own late at night, etc. He also travels for his job during the week. He's gotten so he looks out for himself because he has to, but not for anybody else. He's also used to maid service...
  22. I get really hyper, followed by bloating, nausea, a gnawing pain that starts in my upper right side, and moves to the lower right, and GERD. This is followed by a cycle of D and C. AND I get real emotional...mostly angry, and have a foggy brain. It also throws my sense of balance off.
  23. It's so good to see you've hit on the right combo of things that gave you relief. Your post is sure to give hope to other DH sufferers as well?!
  24. Hubby was real snotty when I realized that he had just spread poison all over and said we had to get it cleaned up. I know he felt bad, but he asked me if the people on this forum are married because he can't see how a relationship can work between celiac and non-celaic people! I told him it will take time to learn everything. It's all new to BOTH of...
  25. LOL..all cats think they're Royalty? They say dogs have owners..cats have staff? Hubby called the seller and asked about the straw AFTER spreading it around. They confirmed it was wheat straw. If it starts to grow, it will get mowed right down with the rest of the lawn. Little booties for the 3 dogs..our Blood Hound had a wound on one foot last...
