  1. This is a hard one, especially with family. We can give the facts, encourage testing but denial is so grand scale. I come from a family with all kinds of food allergies and most don't listen or make the connection to possible celiac. The times I have said anything, they just say, "I am glad I don't have that problem." When infact, I think they do and they...
  2. The trip was fabulous! It was so nice to get away and relax and soak up some sun. Germany lacks sunshine year round and is quite rainy so the 75 degree temps and sunshine were a welcomed by my family. The people were very friendly, there was alot of history there to see, no problems comminucating....much of the area were were in had British store/restaurant...
  3. I had a terrible pain in the ball of my foot that started in Sept and docs would not listen when I thought it was connected to Raynaud's. I could not find any info to support it but as soon as the tmps got warmer it went away.
  4. I have been to both Poland and Czech. The people in Poland will knock themselves out for you, speak great English. There has been alot of help to improve the country and not nearly like it was 10 years ago but you still may have young boys being for cigarettes and cookies, or wanting to wash or watch your car for money. Be very very careful as theft is high...
  5. Don't be scared, I do understand but it is bettr to know and be able to deal with the diagnosis.I have raynaud's but do not have the lacy ovr-lay of skin like you ahve mentioned.I do have a very odd looking callos that runs long the white area of my foot, kind of like it is seperating the red parts which is rather strange. Is your raynaud'sdoing bettr...
  6. I have had issues with kidney stones for ovr 20 years. Have 2 lodged in my kidneys as I type. The thing here besides hydration is that you could also being having irritants that are causing the kidneys issues, like chlorination in the water. This will aggrivate my kidneys, make me sick, lots of pain in the kidney area. I also stay away from caffeine as this...
  7. Taking our spring break to Cyprus. We have never been there and are looking forward to a new adventure!

    ARCHIVED Berlin?

You will be just fine, not to worry. I live in Germany and have for over 10 years. You want to stay away from any sauces and make sure all meats are served "natural." I have found there is no language barrier, too much to speak of, in Germany as most learn English and speak it quite well even when they say they don't! LOL! I don't think I would rent a...

    ARCHIVED Diabetes

Prickly, thanks for the reply! Without knowing what was going on my body was figuring out part of what you are saying here so I am not totally lost. I think this is why I got so sick and ended up in ER last time, I don't think it was migraine auras. Do you have nueropathy due to your diabetes? I have several different sources where I could be feeling symptoms...

    ARCHIVED Diabetes

Very interesting, I will look into the diet. I used to left weights years ago and this sound like the perfect opportunity to start again and see if it makes a difference. Thank you for the info!

    ARCHIVED Diabetes

Today I had a glucose test that showed I am pre-diabetic and doc believes this is the reason for my pins & needles, all my eyes issues, some of my numbness and tingling......all of which I have been dealing with for 3 years. I don't quite understand why a reular diabetes blood test didn't pick it up, I have had 2 in the past year. I had gestational diabetes...
  12. Yes, very much so. However, as far as what the test showed I was deficient in may actually answer alot of my questions. The test showed I am deficient in B12, B2, folate, silicone and isoflavonoids. This would explain the nueropathy and while I don't understand the isoflavonoids I did find symptoms and the match my symptoms. My blood work has not shown a...
  13. Bea, what do you know about deficiencies with isoflavonoids? I have been doing some research trying to figure this out. My hair starnd test showed that my body was deficient in these and I don't quite understand it. However, if you become deficient the symptoms are linked to the rest of my symptoms including ringing in the ears. Another thing that my hair...
  14. Thank you so much!
  15. Wow! I sure hope this is not my issue. I am already avoiding citrus, chocolate, nuts and beans. I think what got me this last time was the citrate in my vits so I have cut that out. On my hair strand test (which might not be 100% accuarte) it did indicate that I have a deficiency in B12, B2, folate, silicon, and isoflavoids. I read that a deficeincy in...
  16. Thank you for your reply. My grandmother's situation was too progressed, she passed 2 weeks ago. My doc said that it can run in families and did test me, still waiting for the results.
  17. Thanks for the replies. Bubba's Mom, I will definately buy the book. Bea, I did try staying away from eggs but that didn't seem to be the issue. My scalp started itching again so i have tightened up my salicylates. The guessing game sure can wear a person down, ugh!
  18. Wendy, sorry to hear you have been thru so much. Reading your intro I could see how stress could play a big role leading to your diagnosis. I too have been on that same stress path and I do beleive that is what triggered me as well. What I can assure you about your daughter, which she hopefully realizes now, is that the guy was a crumb in the first place...
  19. Your cake could have gums (like xanthan) in it that can make some feel sick to their stomach, I know I couldn't eat it for a long time. Olive oil is on the high salicylate list....while I don't think it would cause the reaction you are talking, salicylates can cause itchy issues. I eat use canola oil instead because my stomach doesn't handle olive oil well...
  20. Anyone here find a source/remedy to buzzing in ears? Been dealing with it for 14 months with no change. Tried sulfur which did nothing. I have been avoiding salicylates & acidic foods, no difference.
  21. Thanks guys, I really appreciate the input. I think I will just try one thing at a time. I wonder why testing is so hard? Dermotology treated my scalp and basically said the same.....that allergy testing is not real accurate but it seems like sifting thru a mountain of options at times.
  22. I'm actually hoping it is inaccurate. Has anyone esle done this? Did you find it inaccurate or did you find it helped?
  23. So I got my results back from a hair strand allergy test that I took. This is not a completely accuarte test as what can show up is the foods that you eat in large quantities. However, on my list for foods to avoid are rice, corn, whey, tomatoes, plums, cod, avocados, olives, cabbage, spinach, and potatoes. HELP!!!!! I know many of you are doing a no grain...
  24. The rhuematory arthritis bloodwork was ordered by the same doc that ordered my lyme disease testing. The lyme disease is one I have been tested for previously.
  25. Just curious as my docs are digging a little deeper with tests to try and figure out what is causing me issues. I was talking to someone the other day that linked their nueropathy to corn products so I was wondering if anyone else had made any finds like this?
