  1. LOL, I hear ya Bea! Last night searching for something for dinner I was thinking, 'yum, pears and green beans.' I actually grilled a pear and it was good! Yes, I did read about the dumping and the supplements. I don't realy look fwd to anymore detox-like symptoms but I think I have to try. I see my urologist today and I am going to ask him about a plasma...
  2. GFinDC, thanks for the links. I have started on my low oxalate diet and so far I am not finding it as hgard as I thought it would be. My diet was heavy on potatoes, avocados, and spinach so for that this will be a bit more difficult but well worth it to find out. When you start reading, like Bea mentioned, what damage oxalates can do to the body it is surprising...

Thank you very much, definately not too much info and I appreciate you explaining. I have recently looked into this because of continued issues I have had. I actually have started cutting out my carbs and sugar and did get the intense cravings for sugar like you mentioned. So during this time though you did not take a probiotic.....and wanted until you completed...
  4. Very interesting! When I met with doc this week he told me he thought I had an over-active baldder which I have to say, I don't think is the case but I do have a referral to urology. As far as peanut butter, it is on the high oxalate food list. No sure if that could be giving you issues or not. I am taking them out of my diet.
  5. Bea, I am assuming the citrate is the problem with salicylates and did not give that a thought however right now I am going to not take any supplements, take out both salicylates and oxalates and see if the itching will go away. My joints already feel better howevr, I also have not been taxing myself with walks as these stones have really been giving me a...
  6. Thanks for that link. Info in this broke it down even better than what I had been reading but it tells the importance of magnesium, potassium and calcium in the diet to eliminate the stones and this is what I have been reading. I think my doc is old-school and does not know the latest. I have an appt with urology next week. Yes, the gluten-free diet has helped...
  7. Bea, I have been reading on salicylates and oxalates and oh what I found on oxalates surprises me. I think this may very well be my issues and it has for years but the way oxalates work in the body. I think my body finally had so much inflammation it was starting to show in my evry day health. This alone can be why I am having troubel with my joints and why...
  8. I was plagued with nose bleeds for years. I thought it might have been the dry climate I was in and would try to keep my nose moisturized, not sure it really helped. I stopped blowing my nose as hard and I think that did help. Infact, I try not to blow my nose unless I have to because of all the nose bleeds. I now live in a humid area and still am very careful...
  9. Yes, I have had cancker sores. When I asked doc if there was anything I could do for them he told me there was not. Online info said to avoid toothpaste with a certain ingredient which my toothpaste did not have so I figured it wasn't the toothpaste. I found another site that said to take 1000 mg of l-lysine daily, treid that and it worked in just a matter...
  10. I did the paperwork to request a new primary health provider and found out that I can go off-base to a German doc and get part of the expense reimbursed. I think I need a set of new eyes. When my primary doc deplyed and his stand-in stepeed in was when I was dx w/celiac based on all tests and my medical history. When I was seen initially by my primary...
  11. This blows my mind! I've been sick the last 2 weeks, was treated for a bladder infection, had pain in the kidneys; 26 year history with kidney stones. Go back to doc today he tells me that he believes the rason I have been so sick is that he believes I am passing stones. Get that, makes sense, it always makes me real sick when the stones give me issues. ...
  12. It does help Cougie, thank you! Repeatedly I hear of the hot flashes and night sweats, something I am not having. I do have the skletical pain but I am wondering about my vit D levels as doc cut me back and it may have been too much. I have recently cut back again on my dairy wondering if this could be giving me issues. And I have to look at the possibility...
  13. Thanks Lisa, I really do appreciate your reply. I stopped going to docs years ago and stayed away for probably too long because docs wanted to blame female issues on everything I went to them for. I recently stopped taking the Pill to see if there are any changes going on. The list really amazed me though. So then I was wondering if my GP could be right....
  14. Like many of the ladies here, I do not have the "gold seal" diagnosis. I was given a "careful" dx based on tests results, improvement on gluten-free diet and symptoms. However, one of my docs disagrees with the dx. I am not going off the gluten-free diet regardless and because of past history I see alot of links throughout my life to indicate celiac. My...
  15. I feel terribly stupid at this point. My bladder pain and kidney pain came back about a week after being off antibiotics. I went to an online symptom checker and it came up with vitamin toxicity. I have red so much on vits and I am very careful. Unfortunately I think I made a mistake without even thinking twice and I thinks it is what has been costing me...

Very interesting! Besides have a fungal infection on the sides of your lips, did you ahve any other signs?
  17. Good for you Adalaide, I don't know why some people wnat to close their ears but you are opening to options, options which are all good to investigate. My husband's health is not as good as it could be, has had a life-long issue with allergies and just keeps taking meds. I have repeated aske him if her thought about actually finding out what is causing hime...
  18. Egg substitutes really are not bad tasting at all. If it is the yoke that you are having issues with perhaps sticking with the white is a good idea. I personally don't care for yokes and will eliminate them many times and I think they taste fine. You mentioned doing a test thur Elisa Labs, did your Holistic doc agree with the results and have you been...
  19. Katie, you are so not alone and I hope others will share in their own experiences here as what you have posted is quite common. We have been told since small children the importance of wheat in our diet and then for us to realize this is not true, some cannot grasp. If you start reading how damaging gluten is for the body you are going to wonder why more...
  20. If you have not asked to have vit levels checked I would highly recommend you do so. A & D are vits that taken in too high amounts can cause toxicity in the body and that will only compound the issues you are currently dealing with. Knowing what your husband needs is really important.
  21. I am also reaching a 1 year point after gluten and have also found I am troubled with the same symptoms. I am reacting to sugars and getting shaky and at the same time almost craving them. I have also been tested twice for diabetes in this past year and have another doc appt this week. Let us know how your result turn out.
  22. I would definately ask to see your lab results. I question the high B12.....is it high as in normal range high or hyper? That could make you sick there if your B12 is out of normal range but the question would then be, why is it that high?
  23. Yes, after I went gluten-free, my muscles and bones ached and still do from time to time now. I had the stiffest neck for a long time. Since diagnosed I have had problems with the planter's faciitis in my left foot, podiatrist said that with celiac he was not surprised as it effects the muscles, joints and connective tissues. I have been taking extra magnesium...
  24. Good timing with this post. I have been gluten-free for 10 months and have never had this symptom until this last week. I have had many bladder infections before but this was different. I have never had actual cramping in the bladder before and this time I did, and bad. I had a culture done and doc gave me a week of antibiotics. However, I am positive I did...
  25. I think it was a very popular name for awhile. I live with husband and my daughter who is not gluten-free but I cook gluten-free. I have found it easier that way and actually they have no complaints about the gluten-free products I have bought and made.
