  1. My dd is 3 1/2 and she loves the Yummi Bears from Hero Nutritionals. I give her the Mulit-Vitamin and the Calcium with Vitamin D. I've also given her the Yummi Bears Vitamin C as well. The Multi and the Vitamin C taste like gummy bears. The calcium has a softer texture but is bear shapped. They also have sour flavored, vegetarian gummies if you're into...
  2. Thanks so much for the information and sharing your stories with me. I've had so many different symptoms of celiac disease over the last few years and I didn't even know it. I remember being puzzled and frustrated that my Dr.'s didn't want to look at the whole picture. Every Dr. I saw wanted to treat a specific symptom. I really pushed my dd Dr. to test her...
  3. Hi, My dd was diagnosised with celiac disease about 6 months ago and I was diagnosised a couple of days ago. I've had digestive problems since I can remember but about a year and a half ago I started having pain. I can make a connection between the pain in my muscles and joints with I eat gluten. I also have had back pain as well. Last summer I saw a chriop...
  4. Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows if Blue Sky sodas are gluten-free? Thanks P.S. Looks like I type a before d in my title. Can I edit the title to fix it?
  5. Thanks Katie, I know I need to be gluten-free because I feel better!! I just wanted the blood work to help keep me honest, isn't that horrible. I have two other family members that have conclusive blood work and my dad was tested this week as well. I think celiac disease is just in my genes!! I'm so thankful that we had my daughter tested or I would still...
  6. Hi, To make a long story a little shorter...I've cut a great deal of my gluten out after my dd tested positive to anti-gliadin antibodies. I no longer have gluten in my kitchen but sometimes I eat out. I've found that I have more energy when I'm gluten-free and it seems to take days to recover after eating out. I was diagnosised with relux and IBS years...
  7. You might check out wholeapproach.com they have an approach of diet and rotational anti-fungals. I have used both Nystatin and Diflucan but I developed resistanct strains too both. I used Whole Approach, Caprylic acid for three months as the first phase and GSE for three months as the second phase. The have a forum where you can post questions, get recipes...
  8. We like the Enjoy Life cookies. The cookies are small but I like to get the snack packs to keep in my bag and the car. I haven't gotten to try their other products yet but they're free of the 8 top allergens. You might also want to check out Namaste mixes at www.namastefoods.com. On their homepage they list the following items, "contain no wheat, gluten...
  9. I understand how hard it is to be waiting for test results. I had the tests done last week and I'm probably call tomorrow if I don't hear anything. My dd was tested months ago and I've put so much into her diganosis and recovery, I put my own health on the back bunner. Now that we can see a difference with her, I'm trying to examine my own health as well...
  10. I'm sure this is also a problem for those of us who are suffering from candida as well. The worst reaction my dd had was from an organic, gluten-free juice. Looking back on it now, it must have been the citric acid. I don't know much about "acids," as you can tell. Are acids like ascorbic, fumaric and lactic, made with mold as well? Thanks Stephanie...
  11. Congratulations!!!! Try to "baby" yourself and get as much help as you can from those around you. Madelyn Grace is beautiful.
  12. What a blessing for Amanda and your family. This gives me chills and chokes me up!
  13. Oh my word Stephanie...you've just given me a revelation. My dd gets sick everytime she eats something with citric acid. I've been puzzled for a long time because she isn't allergic to citrus fruits. However, she's VERY allergic to mold!! Thanks so much for the information and NO more citric acid for my little one.
  14. My dd has a gluten type reaction from non-organic turkey as well. I contacted Tyson because she got sick every time she ate their ground tureky. They use an herb as the natural flavoring and don't add gluten but it still seemed to bother her. Like Nisla, we just love Applegate Farms products and we like Shelton as well.
  15. Yeppie!!! Merkia, I'm so excited to hear about the soy free cake from Pamela's, let me know how yummy it turns out. Do you know the name of the mix so I can start looking? We don't have a support group in my area. I've got to get a group started....free samples would be wonderful.
  16. My dd has dairy and soy issues as well. The other day I made broccoli with "cheese" for my family and we really liked it. I used frozen organic broccoli, Vances DariFree beverage, potato starch and pureed organic carrot. The carrot gave the color of cheese and the DariFree & potato starch made the broccoli creamy. I steamed the broccoli first and added...
  17. I've made a pony cake, pig cake and a cow cake and they all worked great. I like to line my cake pan with parchment paper and the cake comes out of the pan really well after it's cooled. After the cake comes out, I can cut & pc. it like any other cake to get my desired shape. I have also oiled and dusted my pans wtih rice flour and that has worked as...
  18. Thanks everyone they both look good, I'd love to have them both. Too bad about "Allergy." Jen, this is a great article. We're dealing with many, major food issues in addtion to gluten and we don't want any more. Looks like "Living Without" also has info. about food allergies etc. I'm I right???
  19. I was wanting to know what celiac and or food allergy magazine you like best? I pulled up the Living Without website it is looks nice but I didn't know of any other magazines..... Thanks
  20. Yea!! I found them...for some reason I've been dense on this one. Bob's has a bunch and I think I just found Arrowhead Mills does as well.
  21. I've been giving this some concern as well. I'll give you an example of what we found. After my dd stopped nursing we put her on organic cows milk. Then her Dr. suggested we try organic soy milk and we did. She didn't tolerate soy and I became a little concern about some of the things I had read so we switched to almond milk. Now after being tested she is...
  22. Thanks Jen!! This iinformation is really helpful. It seems like more of us are finding dairy and other foods are causing problems for us as well. I really appriciate the soy list you've posted in the past also. The list made a light bulb go off for me!! I finally found that soy was hidding in one of my dd supplements.
  23. I've been using a lot of Bob's flours but I didn't realize they have organic flours. I'm looking for brown rice flour, potato starch, millet flour, buckwheat flour and tapioca flour. I think that my tapicoa flour was from Ener-G. By the way I've been adding Ener-G rice bran to some of my baked goods and my dd has gotten sick each time. I wonder if she's...
  24. Just wondering if anyone knows of any organic gluten-free flours?
  25. Do you have a family Dr. or does you son have a pediatrician? You might try to go another rounte if you can't talk with his endocrinologist. We went through several specialist and practioners before we got my dd's allergist to test her. Kindof funny when our pediatrician called and asked me, "who ordered the tests." We have to travel out of town to see the...
