  1. Sharon, Here's another gluten-free drug list that has been helpful to me. homepage.mac.com/sholland/celiac/GFmedlist.pdf Do you happen to know the manufacture? I just called a drug company on the last med. I got filled. I had to search a while online but I was able to get a phone number for customer service. Hope you find out soon
  2. Yum, Thanks for sharing, this sounds really good. I haven't had corn dogs in many years. Oh and pickles....that would be tastey! I've only been 100% gluten free for a few weeks but the other day I was craving onion rings. I'm not sure why I wanted them because I only ate onion rings once in a blue moon before going gluten-free. I decided to...
  3. I used to make homemade yogurt before I started having a problem with dairy. Now I'm resorting to taking a probiotic but I'm hopeful I'll be able to re-introduce dairy as well. For my starter I used plain, organic, yogurt. I always used organic whole or 2% milk. The whole milk makes a little thicker yogurt product. I just love the mild taste of homemade...
  4. My dd and I both get mouth ulcers. I've had them for years but my dd is 3 and started getting them a few months ago. I find that it really hurts to brush my teeth when I have a sore. I started using toothpastes without Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and it's really helped the occurance of sores. SLS can be irritating to the lining of the gums and mouth for those...
  5. My dh and I would like to have a night out together and our gluten-free rest. are limited in our area. I've eaten gluten-free at Carraba's but I've recently started noticing that I'm have trouble with dairy when I eat it at home. Has anyone with dairy issues eaten at Carraba's and done OK. Can you make any suggestion? Thanks!!
  6. Thanks Peter....just wanted to double check!
  7. Hi, I'm getting ready to take a chlorophyll supplement that contains peppermint extract. The lable lists alcohol, water & peppermint oil. When I contacted the company they said it their product doesn't contain gluten. Does this mean that the gluten was extracted or something? Thanks, I'm still new to this and a little confused!
  8. I usually shop in the evenings but I went to get groceries the other morning and I thought the smell of cinnamon buns was going to over take the store. I felt a little nausea but I wasn't sure if it was because I was breathing in flour or if I was thinking about how I would feel after eating one!! Thanks for sharing the pumpkin pie recipe. My mom &...
  9. My dd and I have reactions to dairy as well. We had her tested through YORK several months ago. I'm waiting for my YORK test results to arrive. In the last few weeks they have changed their tests to include a European and a North American profile. The North American profile tests for 96 foods with a few different cheeses, casein, goats milk, gluten and...
  10. Hi, I remember reading a post that Sotch Tape was gluten-free. I was wondering if anyone knows about duct tape, packaging tape, electrical tape & laminating rolls? Thanks!!
  11. redheadheather, I forgot are you doing CF with your soon as well? When my dd eats a food she's intolerant to she get very easily irritated and impatient. She has a hard time sorting through her feelings and taking control over her emotions for several days after eating an offending food. She's been gluten-free for several months and her behavioral...
  12. I haven't taken Alavert myself but I did try to look around on a couple of gluten-free medicine sites.... I didn't see Alavert on...... Open Original Shared Link or homepage.mac.com/sholland/celiac/GFmedlist.pdf However, Alavert is posted on delphi forums as a confirmed gluten-free medicine list. I guess it's possible that the inert ingredients...
  13. Karen, Does the Preparation H Cooling Gel help with dark circles. Also, I'm starting to get some fine lines under my eyes as well.
  14. Thanks so much Karen. From the ingred. list it looked OK to me but I'm still new to gluten-free. I'll try to call Tylenol on Monday and post back what I find out. I probably end up giving it to her if her temp. gets too high. Thanks again
  15. I'm in the US. I had some Children's Motrin in the medicine cabinet but it has exp. I may need to try to get some. My dd fever is low grade right now and I'm hoping she'll sleep tonight. I've called her Dr. and he said to bring her in on Monday AM. I've been trying to pour in the liquids and vitamin C..... Thanks
  16. Hi, I checked the delphi list and I saw that children's Tylenol was gluten-free. I thought I recalled a post the other day that said the inert ingred. might not be gluten-free. The delphi list didn't have the Children's Tylenol Meltaways listed. I have the grape flavor and the website has listed the ingred. Does this look like it would be OK? Thanks...
  17. This is what happened with my dd's medicine. The pharm. said that she had contacted the drug company for someone else and they didn't know about their fillers. I made the coment that I didn't want to give her something that would give her diarrhea and damage her intestines. She responded by saying she'll probably get diarrhea anyway. Not really comforting...
  18. Here's the link to the press release if anyone hasn't read it yet. Open Original Shared Link
  19. I've been buying unbleached coffee filters for some time now. I like coffee but I'm allergic so I only treat myself on occasion. A couple of the companies that make unbleached filters are IFC (If You Care) and Beyond Gourmet. I found some unbleached coffee filters at my local suppermarket as well. One of these small "green" companies might be able to explain...
  20. Ohhhhhhhh my. I think I'm in love!! Chebe and Kinnikinnick will be the first things I try when I start adding foods back. The YORK booklet mentioned taht some people with chicken egg sensitivities could tolerate duck eggs. I think I need to move to the country and get some ducks. The Chebe bread actually looks like "REAL" bread. Thanks
  21. For UMCOR we did health kits. For each kit we included the following items, that were sealed in a zip lock bag. 1 Hand Towel 1 Wash Cloth 1 Bar of Soap 1 Pair of Clippers or Finger Nail File 5 Band-Aids 1 Large, Heavy Duty Comb 1 Large, Tube of Toothpaste (6months or longer on exp.) 1 Toothbrush **Aslo we would want to make sure the...
  22. My dd Dr. suggested that I give her chlorophyl drops for low iron levels. He said she would probably not like the taste. I did however find a company that makes a mint flavored version and they confirmed it is gluten-free and soy free. Here's the company that has the mint chlorophyl..... Open Original Shared Link I haven't been able to confirm...
  23. Thanks for the post. I realize I have these things around the house, I just haven't assembled things in kits. I'm going to make a kit for my dd as well. gluten-free nutritional snacks bars would be great to have in the emergency kit. Also, it might be handy to have a light-weight, styro-foam cooler. Also, I have bought cereal by the case. I thought...
  24. I've never tried the Chebe bread before. Do most of the Chebe recipes use eggs and or dairy? Thanks
  25. My dd had really high Igg but the rest of the blood work was normal. We have a family history of celiac disease. I recently was tested and had low anti-glidian levels but I had high levels of ttg and EMA. Along with my dd Dr. we decided that a gluten free diet was important to try. She has responded remarkably to a gluten-free/CF diet!
