  1. Lisa, I love balsamic dressing as well. I purchased a case of Annie's Balsamic Vinaigrette packs. I keep some in my purse when I dine out. The dressing is pretty good. Not exactly what you would get when it's prepared by a chef or what I make at home but I know it safe, when I dine out. Sometimes I get a plain baked potato and put the salad dressing...

  3. Claire, My dd reacts to even the smallest amount of soy. However, I can tolerate soy much better. Sorry you felt crummy. Just wanted to let you know that I often use gluten-free rice milk with Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar as a "soured milk" / buttermilk replacement. I've also used Vance's DariFree Milk with the vinegar in recipes. For one cup of buttermilk...
  4. Claire, I always use the same amount of coconut oil/butter for the amount of "Criso" shortening that the recipe calls for. I've even put the coconut oil/butter (it's the same thing) in the refrig. to make sure it's solid before I incorporate it into my flour. Most of the time it is in a solid state when it's on my shelf. JerseyAngel, I've used coconut...

  6. Thanks Katie, I feel relief already.
  7. Hi, I was wondering if anyone know of any gluten-free juice bars, sorbet or ices that are gluten-free. I saw Dole "Fruit 'N Juice" Bars and Minute Maid Soft Frozen Lemonade Squeeze Tubes on the Delpi List but I didn't know if it was up to date. I've got a sore throat and would love something cold and safe to soothe it!! Thanks
  8. They're a manfacture of canned foods. Does anyone have a phone number or e-mail address for Farmer's Market Foods? Thanks!
  9. My dd had Hand, foot & mouth last summer. She felt really bad and her mouth was really sore. It's hard with very young children because they have a hard time discribing how they feel. From what her ped. said it is highly contagious amoung children. Has your ds run a fever with the virus? Hope he's feeling better soon.
  10. KayJay, Have you thought about doing a food journal? You might to try record everything you eat and you dd symptoms to see if you have a pattern. Our journal was very helpful in determining certain food symptoms. It was also helpful for her Dr. to see the severity of symptoms. In the journal you might included the foods you consumed, the time of day/what...
  11. My dd had reflux for the first few months and then it got a little better. Her Dr. put her on pepcid and it seemed to help some. It wasn't until a few months after she stopped nursing that she stopped developing other symptoms and additional allergies. You might want to check out the Le Leche Leauge website. 12. Hi TheMomof2, Welcome to the forum!! Your dd has the same allergies that my dd does but we're gluten free as well as wheat free. I have had good sucess with The Gluten Free Pantry's, Old Fashioned Cake and Cookie Mix. They have a downloadable cookbook for egg free & for dairy free recipes. Here's a link to there website. 13. I love Bare Escentuals and I've used it for years. I've never tried the skincare line though. I while back I check delphiforums confirmed list and this is what they had listed. Right now I'm using Proactiv, but I was thinking about switching to BE skincare. Thanks for the info. One of my friends uses a different brand of mineral makeup...
  14. I was searching for some new recipes and came up with an interesting site. This site has re-created recipes from resturants etc. Some of the recipes I found are free and some are not. I clicked on "Recipes" and found several free ones. Open Original Shared Link ****This is not a gluten-free recipe site. However, I was thinking that many of these...
  15. Yvonne, You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers as well. Please feel free to PM or e-mail me anytime you just need to talk.
  16. With my dd we started with organic cow's milk and she became intolerant as well. We switched to soy and then she became allergic to soy. Third we tried almond milk which she loved however, she also tested positive for almonds. Now we do some rice milk, some coconunt milk, and some DariFree. She used to beg for milk but now she doesn't ask for it as...

  18. I contacted Cinemark about their movie popcorn and this is the reply I got. Do you think that they're referring to corn gluten? Therefore, because it's corn gluten, it would not be wheat, rye, barley or oat gluten? Any ideas? Thanks!
  19. I'm a Silly Yak member and I read a recent message from someone with celiac disease that stayed at Bellagio. They contacted the hotel ahead of time and they we're really accomadating. When they made reservations at the Bellagio rest. thay had a card on their table that had the restrictions listed. I'm not sure how long ago they went but it sounds like they...
  20. I hate you're having such a hard time. I know it's frustrating when you feel that the medical community doesn't have a clue. I started with stomach problems when I was 12 or so and now I'm in my late 20's. I only found out that I have celiac disease about 2 months ago. I know with all the medical bills things can get tight. The other day I figured...
  21. We use olive oil for potatoes, bread and things like that. For baking recipes that call for solid butter I use coconut butter or Spectrum organic shortening. At first I was really stressed about not using butter but now we don't even miss it. My dd is also soy free. Seems like most of the butter substitutes have casein and or soy in them. I love...
  22. Thanks for posting this link!!
  23. Thanks so much for these recipes. I can't wait to give them a try!!
  24. You're welcome, I'm glad it helped!! I'm not sure if being glutened can cause a fever but I think that it makes sense. I know when I've have a life threatening allergic reaction my temp. goes up. My Dr. says it's the immune system defense that's trying to rid the body of a threatening "invader." Hope your ds gets to feeling better soon.
