  1. I don't have a list but noticed Cellas chocolate covered cherries are made in a facility free of tree nuts, peanuts, eggs or gluten!!! Yay!! I'm on my second box.
  2. For the most part, yes. I do allow gluten beer and some Trader Joe's Oatios. The beer isn't the problem, it's the Oatios ...or rather my son and the dog and the Oatios. In the beginning my son (9) was good about being neat with them, but now I find them everywhere. And this morning the dog ate a bowl of them. So no, I don't think it's working! I banned...
  3. Against the Grain is very crusty (at least the baguette, which is all I've tried). Schar is softer. Like comparing a gourmet French baguette to something you'd make a submarine sandwich from? That makes the Schar sound bad but it isn't. Just softer and denser.
  4. There's a tea shop in Tucson that does gluten-free if you call and ask. If you go to the southern AZ celiac group website you'll find it. Can't remember the name and haven't been there...
  5. I think its a phase. I hit it about 2-3 months in. It got better but my enjoyment of food and love of cooking didn't come back til a week or so ago and I'm at about 7 months gluten-free. Just roll with it...
  6. Oh, and fresh gluten-free pasta!!!! I get really peeved when they suggest I order pasta and eat the "rice substitute" when everyone else gets fresh ravioli, etc.
  7. A big juicy gourmet burger WITH A BUN. Saut
  8. I've used th and like them. Safe for high efficiency machines since they are low suds.
  9. Nut butters and Hormel gluten free Naturals lunch meat .
  10. Well, from what you listed above I'd consider finding a way to get some. Quickly converting carbs (lack of protein) can cause nausea, headache. Your blood sugar may be jumping (not implying you're diabetic) and falling because your body isn't mediating sugar. I went through a month of hypoglycemia that made me feel the way you describe, during healing. I...
  11. If that's all you had, you may need protein. Are you eating protein with every meal? A plain potato goes in and converts to sugar without anything to slow it down - protein, fat. Or, of you notice a problem with tomato, potato you may have an issue with nightshades.
  12. Lately, no. I haven't heard any ridiculous explanations for baby D from Peds. But I got my share when DS was a newborn. I vividly remember hearing thatilk protein didn't cause cramping and C. Funny, D went away when I stopped eating casein (breastmilk) and subbed with Nutirimiagen (or whatever that awful super processed formula was). Try it for a few...
  13. I'm sorry its so rough. You may also try picking up a copy of Living Without magazine. They have great hints on how to substitute and work around intolerances.
  14. I love MyChelle and Andalou skin care. I use one Origins product, you just have to read the label. MyChelles unscented cucumber wash is great. Origins Brighter by Nature pads are wonderful. I use Bare Minerals foundation and buy most of my cosmetics from Natural Solutions, particularly Earth's Beauty brand. I use Burt's Bees lip gloss. Vanicream lotion...
  15. I vote for cereal. Its one of the two gluten items I allow in the house. It generally stays in the bowl (9 year old eating it). And beer, if you like beer. Hubs doesn't generally spill his precious beer.
  16. Hey there, First, I think you're great for hanging in there as cook to a newly dx'ed Celiac. Takes guts. Second, peruse the DH forum for tricks and hints for DH - low iodone (google thyca for hints on an li diet). If he's iodone sensitive this can be a big deal. The dapsone is working, and may cover up that particular sensitivity, but it's worth testing...
  17. Skylark, when they don't specify which is dq2 or 8 how do you know which is which?
  18. Are these half of the genes? Did they reference those with dq2 or dq8? What lab ran them?
  19. I use digest gold and its gluten-free. I haven't used it with prpbiotics but if you're in doubt call the manufacturer.
  20. I am due for an eye appt. so can't say for sure but I know my dry eyes improved EXCEPT when seasonal allergies are bad. Dry eyes are a big problem for me. Gluten-free has really helped.
  21. Well, I couldn't stop thinking about it so I got passionate tonight! It was a big hit with all. They want root beer next. It is different from a float. Very light and rich.
  22. Yes. I saw the pics but not the article. I'll have to look again.
  23. Are you in AZ? Call the Phoenix or Tucson Celiac groups and ask for a referral.
  24. This is a terrible piece, with a very biased slant.
