I've found many things can trigger DH if the antibodies are there and you are prone to it. MSG, high salicylates would do it to me in the beginning. I don't know if you'll see it, but I posted not to use aloe or prickly pear unless you know you don't have a problem with salicylates. That MAY be a problem for you, if your soda was sugar based instead...

Gluten-Free-of you have a problem with salicylates don't use the aloe! It's very high, the prickly pear would probably be, also since its a plant. If not, try it. Both are very soothing.

Funny you should ask... I have a weird thing on my pinkie. I find covering it helps, even a simple band-aid. I put a bit of Shea butter/olive oil salve on the band aid and it helps even more. I bought some latex kitchen gloves the other day for washing dishes since that seems to aggrivate it. The waterproof bandages work great if I can get them to...

Try Talenti gelato. It's pretty clean. Also Haagen Dazs five ingredient (or is it 3?) is very clean. I make it at home. Very easy and much less expensive. Big hug. Remember, Sals are in lots of things. Natural, good things. You can't eliminate them just reduce them. So try eating what you like, first. And you may find just ONE thing sends you over the edge. What I sincerely hope is that iodine will be less of a factor of you cut down on the sals. -

I'm pretty sure you can order it from an online store. The appearance and texture is amazing. Unlike anything else gluten-free. I like it for French toast. I know...why ruin it like that, right??? I think a self test is if food sits in your stomach, too little acid. Other than that I don't know. As far as how long to take vitamins - did you have your levels tested? Mine tested low and I'm testing every 6-4 months. Whey is milk protein. Do you need protein? Can you eat meat or beans? -

Withdrawal and hormones. Wow. Glad I'm not at your house. She may be going through withdrawal this time, or she may be acting like a 12 year-old. Withdrawal can make you mad mad mad, moody, and emotional. Personally, I went into the bathroom at work and kicked the wall. And bawled. I suggest a good stiff martini for you. -

That's interesting about the milk. When I had stomach ulcers and a hiatal hernia the doctors and pharmacist told me to lay off milk. I refused because a milkshake calmed my stomach down. They always gave me a weird look about that one. -
If you are buying table salt they will clearly state if it is iodized or not on the carton. Sodium does not naturally contain iodine, unless it's sea salt. Sea salts have varying levels of iodine in them. Some manufacturers list it, others don't. As for prepackaged foods you won't know unless you ask the manufacturer. Most pickled items won't use iodized...

Some nuts (if not all) are high in sals. Almonds are. I did eat a salt-free cashew butter when I was li and it was ok. But I wasn't as sensitive to all sals at that point as I suspect you are. -

Some of the stuff you're eating can make for nasty burps, at least. Can you handle mint? Make some mint water (just put mint in your water) and drink. It may help. I use Weleda salt toothpaste and it's great. I like something that gets the hair off my teeth and tongue and it does the trick. -
You will need to apply the lotion/Vanicream several times a day. Once isn't enough. Keep it moisturized and soft. When it swells and weeps, gently wipe with a soft cloth or put dry wash clothes under your arms. Then more lotion. You may try sleeping with socks on your hands. Cut your nails down, at least.
