  1. It helps/ed me. Whatever you can do, do it. Even if it's a short walk, or just pulling weeds or whatever. Do it. Your body is meant to move. Helps me in so many ways. Yes, it's hard. But just start doing anything to build a habit if movement. Don't go overboard - just light stuff.
  2. Jowza. 400??! You're an over-achiever! My last labs came back with a tsh of 8+. Never ever had one that high before. My TPO was up, inflammation up. It was a mess. Just had saliva cortisol/estrogen/testosterone, etc. run and estrogens were low normal, progesterone low, ratios off, dhea low, cortisol low. Estrogen/progesterone correlate to blood draw...
  3. My dentist is experienced with fielding gluten-free issues. I'm not their first patient. They know what is/isn't gluten-free. If your dentist gives you push-back, find another.
  4. Don't panic. Realistically, a lot of food is processed on shared wheat lines - food you may eat daily. This is a standard CYA line. Yes, some manufacturers are better at preventing cc than others. Standard procedure is to clean equipment between runs - so they would have cleaned it before making the gluten-free product. If you are super sensitive,...
  5. I would think not eating would make the pain worse. Can't you hey anything down? Liquids? Sorry you are in so much pain, and I hope it improves quickly.
  6. Subway only has themselves to blame for that one. They could train employees not to use hands to dip into the bins but evidently choose not to. Or, they could have a protocol for using new bins for gluten-free. The presence of so much bread still would make me nervous but if they developed a good reputation I would try it.
  7. I'm jealous beyond all description. Please tell us all when you return!
  8. I'd like to know what does play well with ai. Seriously. Because I'd schedule a play date. Like, yesterday. Ok. I'll stop being grumpy.
  9. I don't have neuropathy, as far as I can tell (except, maybe from horse injuries ). I do have some shaking in my hands which I think is related to vitamin deficiencies. I haven't been dx'ed with diabetes - in fact I've been told I am NOT diabetic. I am requesting t1 antibody testing, though, because I wonder if my hypoglycemia symptoms are an...
  10. I don't know what's in the skin...other than iodine.
  11. Technically, the iga antibodies are still in your skin if you have a rash. But they do start to fall when you stop eating gluten. In the UK they say you must eat gluten. Here, I don't see it. My personal experience was the antibodies fell quickly, based on tgecrash I had about 5 mOnths gluten-free. It was much much less severe. So, no one really...
  12. Exercise helps get rid of the excess sugar or something like that. Resistance is better than cardio. Im going off memory here, sorry....on my iPhone. I found ditching grains in general helps. Eat veggies out your ears. Fiber fiber fiber with protein. If you eat a sugar eat it with fiber and protein - so bake with nuts and beans. When my sugar swings...
  13. If you are losing weight you need nutritious food, not soda. So eat more food, more often. If you are hypoglycemic you may need a bit of glucose to correct blood sugar; however, you should eat first to keep blood sugar normal - not fast and then drink a soda to correct. All of this is beside the point, though. We all have our habits and yours is soda...
  14. No telling. Have you considered testing something simpler to see if you react? Maybe a nut-based cookie, no chocolate, low sugar? Elanas Pantry may have a recipe that fits. You may find a bean- based recipe that's simple, too, on the web. I have a problem eating large quantities of sugar, now. Makes me feel as you described, especially when I first...
  15. Looks encouraging. The "Dow Chemical" part gives me the heebies; however, I'd get over it. I think.
  16. You may also try to get your restaurant to stock rice flour to convert battered dishes gluten-free. A Chinese restaurant here in town does it, and my crowd thinks rice battered is better than wheat battered. Doesn't get mushy. I'm the only gluten-free person, but we all order gluten-free and eat family style there.
  17. The only advice I have is to wean off the prednisone slowly. And by that in mean 2x as slow as your doctor tells you to. Most people have an immediate DH resurgence after going off steroids. Dapsone is the usual rx for DH. You need to be monitored when you start, since it can have side effects. Good luck, and I hope you get some relief.
  18. Their training procedure is to get your cheese/lettuce from a new bin. But you have to watch - not all employees do it. I must say, out of all the restaurant food I've eaten (ok, not much since gluten-free but I've eaten at one particular Chipotle the most of all) they are by far the best at gluten-free. Ironically, I wonder if it's a small-town thing...
  19. You may find she develops glutening symptoms as she goes along. In the beginning I had zero, now I'm getting them. Anyhow... If you have in-n-out burger, they are gluten-free except the bun. Ask them to press the allergy button for the bin and do it protein style. Five Guys does gluten-free - I think they are safe except the bun, also. Chipotle...
  20. Brown Snake and Rabies (round steak in gravy or steak etoufee) Green beanS white rice I forgot, tonight is the NCAA championship..... Was planning on going out but here we are (and I'm cooking). Today's benna hella day.
  21. Exactly. Which is the scary part.
  22. Can you get a gluten-free/cf version from a compounding pharmacy? Many of them have online shops and ship.
  23. So you were gluten-free, then ate gluteny sausages and got sick, stopped eating gluten for 2 weeks, now doc wants you to start eating gluten again?
  24. I'd do some reading on the site. It's best to try to keep her on whole, simple foods; however, in the name of sanity I'd try to find some "favorite" substitutes. Milk can be a problem for some people going gluten-free, even if it wasn't Pre-gluten-free, so keep an ear out for complaints if she eats cereal with milk, etc. Chex is gluten-free (except...
  25. Can you find a gluten-free/cf version of Tylenol? It isn't in the same class and supposedly does not provoke DH. I used it an was fine. Sorry you had a rough night. I think I'd slam down a few shots of something next time and hope for sleep.
