  1. I've linked joint pain to soy myself. My son reacts to high fructose corn syrup like as if he was glutened-running to restroom!
  2. I get pain under my rib but GI doc says its gastritis. I had an endo and all I was very worried.
  3. I'm currently trying it. My doctor recommended it and she uses it. I do feel baby hairs growing, but my hair is still filling out. I'm also taking biotin and vitamin B. and I bought gluten-free shampoo. Maybe it all just takes time.
  4. My son cried when he had to put the hospital gown on. That was the worst part!
  5. I called Knorr and they said they are NOT gluten-free.
  6. Biopsies in our families were similar. But our GI says even if it's the beginning if celiac, it's still celiac. Our bloodwork and genetic testing is enough to verify. And how we feel gluten-free. But I still struggle with doubts it's more emotional. I have to work through letting it sink in. It's only been a year since we began the process of testing etc...
  7. I eat eggs and corn tortilla or tostada. I crave protein.
  8. I have a hard time too wondering if I'm just crazy. People ask questions a lot and sometimes that throws me off like will i always have to answer questions my whole life ? Then a part of me thinks I'd rather them ask than not care at all. I'm not sure if my family believed me at first either. Some have said that so many things we eat are bad for us and can...
  9. I'd be upset. I have to give people the Benefit of the doubt. This Is strange for me too! All the questioning makes me second guess myself so I have to put it in its place.
  10. I will try out a recipe for gluten-free oreos. The gluten-free ones in store are $5 a bag! I do like them Ive just only bought them twice. Today I tried a doughnut recipe. What a mess! And they weren't pretty. But they tasted great!
  11. Can anyone recommend a website to purchase the test to check for gluten in food at home? I know it's pricey. I ask because there's one food I have often that is from a cc facility same oven but different baking sheets and different processing days- my Moms kitchen! I'd hate to reject her efforts to bake cookies for us- me and my 5 kiddos- ( I buy her the...
  12. I'm gluten-free only 5 months now and also trying a low carb diet to help with that.
  13. Yes IrishHeart I take gluten-free communion myself and share with 2 other gluten-free families!
  14. That's funny! Thanks. I am not alone!
  15. This is a huge help! Thanks everyone!
  16. Yeah I use Burt's bees tinted lip colors. I have not called the company but the ingredients sound nice! And it feels very tingly and fresh. Im not one to react though to cc. I'm on the lookout myself for more options on lipstick.
  17. I've done that! I spit out a mouth full once! Lol!
  18. My pedi GI says i must train my kids to eat only raw foods -fruits n veggies-when they're out so they can get used to that. I try my best to not buy shared facility foods at the grocery store but yes when out and about there's times that's all there is to choose from. I don't react either to cc but my son has many times. I think maybe it's doing the same...
  19. Mazola has a chicken boullion. I called them and was told its gluten-free.
  20. Oreos. I feel sad about Oreos.
  21. I can relate. I thought it was because corn, potatoe and white rice are so starchy so I'm trying a low carb diet but I'm still learning it. I've gained 10-12 lbs and dont want /need to keep gaining. I go to bed hungry at night! But I know I've eaten plenty.
  22. My GI found scalloping during my endo. I didn't have a chance to ask him much but go back in next week. My husband ran into another GI and asked him some questions. He says the scalloping is an indicator that I've had Celiac for years pehaps many years. I find that interesting. Does anyone know much about scalloping? I know I'm Celiac because I've been positive...
  23. I explain my needs thoroughly to people I'll be spending most my time with. But with occasional acquaintances I don't go into much unless they're asking. I have been training my kids though to not eat stuff that people offer them. And telling them that even if they're told it's gluten-free that they need to ask me still. I don't make ieople wash hands.
  24. Thanks everyone. I find it very interesting.
  25. I know celiac usually improves on a gluten-free diet. Is Crohns related to celiac? Im reading that the intestinal damage looks similar. Just wondering if Crohns is something we should be tested for. I had my endoscopy late in the game 6 months after the gluten-free diet and the doc could see scalloping in duodenum. Will that heal in time? Makes me worry also...
