ARCHIVED Trying To Concieve--How Long Did It Take To Get A Positive Pregnancy Test After Celiac Diagnosis?
jswog replied to addis001's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
1)did your flow change before starting celiac diet? I had been off of Depo shots since May before going gluten free in Sept and my cycle hadn't started back up yet. 2)how long did it take for your flows to return to normal after stating diet? My cycle started again almost exactly one month after going gluten free. 3)how long did it take for you... -
ARCHIVED Sooo Thirsty, Frequent Urination, Celiac Related?
jswog replied to hspichke's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I'm 12 weeks now and have been doing the same for a while. I know I lost some, but I'm not sure exactly how much I lost with my morning sickness and just plain not being able to eat. I'm also a member at babycenter.com and many others have also experienced the same. Yesterday during the 30min or so that my husband and I were in the grocery store picking up... -
ARCHIVED Going To Start Trying Soon!
jswog replied to abaker521's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Where did you read that? Many of the women on here have/are taking the Rainbow Light successfully. I am fairly sensetive and have been taking them without any gluten reaction. As for tips, just eat a healthy, well-rounded, gluten-free diet. Make your house gluten free as well. Chuck all potential CC out of your life. I went gluten free back in Sept.... -
ARCHIVED High Fsh And Celiac Disease? My Story.
jswog replied to lostinvast's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
While I can't specifically address your questions, I can say that I believe with 100% certainty that I would NOT be pregnant right now if I hadn't gone gluten free. I'm 35 and went off of Depo back in May, a month before my husband (who's 40) and I got married because we knew we wanted a family and given our ages that we needed to start trying right away... -
ARCHIVED Possible Celiac And Probable Pregnancy
jswog replied to Blondie34's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
When are you due? My EDD is August 19, my nephew's first birthday (who, BTW, was due on my parents' anneversary). If this kid waits a week, he'll be my parents' 40th present! Jen -
ARCHIVED Possible Celiac And Probable Pregnancy
jswog replied to Blondie34's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Your doctor WILL NOT do the procedures if you are pregnant. My husband and I had already been trying prior to mine and they would not proceed until they had done a blood test THAT DAY that was negative. -
Does anyone have any suggestions for morning sickness? Obviously, saltines are out, but I'm not sure what good alternatives would be. Thank you! Jen

Thank you everyone! The reality is just beginning to sink in. The positive home test is still sitting on the bathroom counter. I know I should throw it away, but it helps me to look at it to know that I'm not just dreaming. I did get a positive confirmation from the blood test at my doctor's office yesterday. They want me to have my first maternity appointment...

Personally, I would not be willing to take that risk. But you have to decide for yourself what you feel safe doing/not doing. Jen

I'm so excited to share with you all that my husband and I are finally pregnant! I give all credit (well, most, we did do a *few* things to contribute lol) to kicking the gluten out of my life. My husband and I decided back in May (before we got married in June) for me to discontinue my Depo, knowing that it could take a while to get out of my system and...

ARCHIVED My Hand Goes Numb? Why?
jswog replied to heidi g.'s topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Have you been to a chriopractor? I was having the same thing and finally went to one last week. I have 42 pinched nerves. -
That's exactly what I get if I need to catch something quick when I'm out. I have them leave the potato whole (I could just see them using a dirty knife to cut it) and use a wrapped plastic fork to cut it and put the chili on top! Great, filling meal when I need something in a hurry.

ARCHIVED Frustrated With Nausea!
jswog replied to sandsurfgirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
While I cannot really help you in regards to if either may or may not be causing your nausia, I am curious what the 'high dose' of L Glutamine is? And I agree, I also hate being nausiated (which, BTW, is what you are, not nauseous, look each up...lol)! -

ARCHIVED Was I Diagnosed?

Mushroom, can you please call the GI who did mine and tell him that? -
No, the salad area is pretty much the same as it has been for the past five years (when I worked at OG for the first time), with crutons everywhere, people (employees) walking along and dipping crutons into the open container of dressing for a quick snack, etc. If I get a salad there, I only get a caesar as those are prepped in a totally different area.

About the same time I went gluten free, my mother's (at the time) brand new doctor told her that she needed to be gluten free as well. He diagnosed through a hydrogen breath test on which anything below 10 was ok (0 is ideal). She was 20. She had been 'attempting' to go gluten free, but still INSISTED on doing certain things (fast food, buffets, etc.) where...

ARCHIVED New To Gluten Free. Advice And Serviving Thanksgiving
jswog replied to Duncanne's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Unless they are CERTIFIED gluten free oats, you can be about 100% certain that they DO contain CC. Oats get CC in the field, through the harvesting process, through the processing, etc. -
Talked to the GM this afternoon. Not sure at this point if it is going to help or not, but I did tell him that we REALLY need better education on how to do it right. I mentioned several different ways that this could have happened and he said with several of the scenerios that he would have never even thought about that. I'd LOVE the opportunity to try to...

Most definately plan to, but I have to work a double shift, so I'm still worried about being able to make it through the day. D was still going last night along with the extreme fatigue and brain fog.

It does all depend on which cook is on the line at the time. Some REALLY do know and they do a GREAT JOB! One of our cooks who really 'gets it' and I are fairly close. If she's back there, she will personally make any food for me and I've never had a single problem with it. Tuesday night, if I hadn't been standing in the kichen watching, I would have for...

I was hungry as I was leaving work (Olive Garden) yesterday, so I got some of our gluten free penne with marinara and chicken, all should have been gluten free. But today I had diarrhea, vomiting, bloating, gas, etc. Grrr... So I had to call in sick today because THEY glutened me! I hope I'm feeling bettr tomorrow... Jen

I'll have to look for Canyon Bakehose arond here to see if that's better for me. Do you have a recipe for the bread your hubby is making? Prob getting a breadmaker very soon. Thank you, IrishHeart! I always look forward to your advice.

I have found the same reaction with eggs. I absolutely CANNOT eat straight eggs any longer (scrambled, fried, boiled, etc.) which was a HUGE disappointment for me as eggs have always been my go-to protein source. While I do LOVE Udi's bread, I do get a minor reaction from it. I still eat it from time to time anyway.
