  2. well I dunno that I felt much better when I was gluten-free.. but now that I have much increased the gluten (BY ALOT compared to before) I defintly feel much worse. I just dunno if its the placibo effect or for real. Pre all this, 2 or 3 years ago I started the Atkins diet which is very low gluten, and I rember feeling better... but I DID lose 50 pounds...
  3. Welp after finshing of the box of rasin brand I picked up Krogers Maple Brown Sugar Shredded wheat. Ive never heard of it before, but its tasty. That and cininamon rasin begals is what Im been eating. Man I am realy feeling sick though. If its not celiac disease I might break down and cry.. cause that means theres no end in sight. Got an appointment...
  4. My baacon does not have ingredents Well besides.. get this.. bacon Sreously.. if i am buying somthing like beef, that should not have ingredients.. and it DOES... I just dont buy it. Bacon usally has nitrates and one other thing that Im not recalling right now.. but never anything like soy sauce, I perfer to never buy it with all those additives.
  5. Out side of a very small close circle of faimly/freinds I feel exactly the same way. Some ppl CHOSE to limit their diet, based on moral, ethiclaa or other CHOICES. If they mess up, its no big deal, heck they may never know. Those ppl can not understand celiac disease, or even food alergies. Other parents are used to the concept of "only a little cant hurt...
  6. Lots and lots of things can cause that, too much salt in your for examlpe, diabeates is another. So realy hard to blame it on anything.
  7. You mean your not sposed too? I thought thats why there were package that way, you know 1 can = 1 serving...RIGHT???
  8. I agree, I als think its a bit unfiar to he other kids. They should not be prevented form haven what ever treats they parents think they should. As long as reasonalbe precautions are taken to keep it seperate, let them have thier cake and eat it too.
  9. And ppl keep yelling at me everytime I say that I have never had a good experence with McDondals fries, and that I suggest anyone with celiac disease avdiod them. Ppl say thigns like "your the only one..." etc, yet contanstanly ppl here report problems. So yell away, but I will not waiver in my warnings to everyone to STAY CLEAR of McDondals fries (and I...
  10. Wow each parent sends in a snack??? That would freak me out. I have told my childs school that my son can not eat ANYTHING unless its in his bag. Nothing. I bought colorations gluten-free playdough for them, and offered to provid any snacks they need if theres a specail event. I do not make them try and figure it out, I take all that off thier hands.
  11. As far as we can tell they are NOT okay. I too called them and they said they had no idea if any of thier suppliers used gluten or not. This was not a CYA sounding answer, more of a complete "we dont care to find out". And my son got better when we stopped giving him them. For now he getting Polyvisol, its a liquid we hide in his drinks.
  12. My son eats the Fritolay Staxx with no problems.... his diapers always tells us if he got gluten and stax have never been a problem for him.
  13. Ive not tried to make one my self yet, but the one we got held its shape perfectly.
  14. While Im not anit-vacination in gernal, and infact support many of them, I do not think that the flu vacine is worth it in the average person. THis is my NON-DOCTOR OPINION. I have no intention of ever getting one, nor does anyone in my family.
  15. Is there a bacon thats NOT gluten-free???
  16. For my son's birthday I got a gluten-free Ice Cream cake from Baskin Robins' Was a HUGE success. I had ot call in a day or 2 before I wanted it, explain to them exactly what I need done (ALL Ice cream, no cake, no cookies, etc) and etc, but they were happy to do it.

Dunno about these numbers LOL. He has recently leveled off inthe 90's precentile.... Me? Im a avg 5'11" (avg for a man) in a family where alll of my direct blood male...
  18. Did you test for meat? Allergy testing is not superfical, it just that it test for a specfic thing that may not be the case. For example a scratch test of wheat on most celiacs will no show an reaction, becuase there is no histimine (sp?) recation in celiac. Dairy is the same way, if your lactose intolerant, it not a histmine reaction... in short theres...

  20. You'd hate my sister-in-law then... she calls my son (he has celiac disease) "gluten head". Her and her mom think its "awwwww how cute". Some times Im REALY glad htey live 867 miles away.....
  21. Well Im just the opsit. Being Amenic, without good oldfashion redmeat I would make it through the day. The iron supply in redmeat is far better then what you get from veggitables/pills. BUT I might have some insight to this, some ppl have a FOOD ALERGY to meat, and/or the fats in meat. I dated a girl in Highschool (long time ago!) that was alergic to...
