  1. This link might help you https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/96552-help-for-the-itching-stinging-burning-pain-of-dh/
  2. Oh my, you have to start from square one. I don't think you need to try low salicylate just yet. Low iodine could well be a factor though. You will need to be pristine in your gluten-free diet & not have ANY slip ups. BTW, from what you describe of your rash & also the response to the Dapsone it is my opinion that you DO have dh. Now you can...
  3. I use Suave Naturals Shampoo & also their conditioner but the conditioner is not a leave in. both are cheap too & work great! Lotion: Vaseline Intensive Rescue Repairing Moisture Blistex for lips - either the simple & sensitive in the blue tube or the one in the red & white squeeze tube Body wash - I use a sudsy scrub a friend makes No...
  4. For years before finding out he had celiac, my hubs had burning feet. The soles would burn to the extent it would keep him awake at night but they burned all the time, not just at night. He would describe it as feeling like he had walked across hot coals. Try telling a doctor that. "Here's a prescription for antidepressants". Yeh, they'll cure all the ills...
  5. Doesn't Red Bull have niacin in it? Niacin can cause flushes -- affects some people more & some less.
  6. Just to make sure you get the right blood work when you go to your doc; here is the FULL current celiac blood panel. anything less than this is not a complete test for celiac disease. Get copies of your test results when they are back & look them over yourself to make sure everything was done right. You have to be your own health advocate. Docs will say...
  7. If you're talking about a cracker that tastes like a saltine then my vote is hands down Glutino Table Crackers. Open Original Shared Link
  8. Nick, I think everyone is different. We have different levels of tolerance. I have the celiac rash which deposits antibodies under the skin & I won't be free of this rash until all the antibodies have left my skin. 2 years strict gluten-free & counting but I'm getting better. The rash is sensitive to the smallest amount of gluten & gluten will...
  9. Send it! And btw, what exactly were you making?
  10. Well if you look at sunflower butter next to other nut butters, the sunflower has a decidedly green cast to it in comparison. Just sayin'.....
  11. St. Patty's Day here we come! I think the hazelnut & the almond are about the same grind wise. I'm going to play with it some. Thanks IH & Prickly! Oh, I KNOW about the trash can disasters. Makes the trash weight a lot.
  12. Are these 2 flours pretty much interchangeable? I am going to try some of Elana's Pantry recipes & I have some almond flour but not enough for everything I'd like to try but I also have some Hazelnut flour. How do you think it would work if I used the Hazelnut instead of Almond in say the Muesli Scones recipe? Or the biscuit recipe?
  13. I don't understand why you have been off gluten for 2 weeks when I told you on Dec. 10th that YOU MUST BE ACTIVELY EATING GLUTEN UNTIL THE BIOPSY OR YOU WON'T KNOW IF IT'S A FALSE NEGATIVE OR A TRUE NEGATIVE. I am afraid you are working against yourself here. You seem to want a correct dx so badly yet you have in essence sabotaged your chances by going...
  14. I agree with the others. She HAS to keep eating gluten until the biopsy & Prickly said it right. Some info. on the dh biopsy & you should print it out & take it to the derm especially if you insist on seeing the derm you just saw who gave you bad information. http://www.celiac.ni...Dermatitis.aspx forget what they say about it's location...
  15. What Prickly said. Add to that, the fact that those of us with dh test false neg. on the celiac blood panel 60% of the time.......
  16. Sure thing! I have to remind myself sometimes. I put something in the cart & then say OOPS!, pull it back out & read the label. On that, we have a lifetime of habit to change.
  17. Tonalyn, you've posted to a thread that is from 2007, I doubt any of those ppl are still hanging around here. What you describe is likely related to gluten. Celiacs get lots of rashes & skin stuff. It's possible that you have something like pre dh but you've gone gluten-free now so that itch should begin to die down sooner or later.
  18. Okay, i have no glib comebacks for you two. But I'm laughing!
  19. Ditto what Prickly said!!!!!!
  20. Once in a while acting like a 5 year old is good medicine for us along with the laughter being a 5 yr. old brings. Ah, to be 5 again!
  21. There's a lot to learn & understand. I am just thankful that there were those who were willing to help me when I was a newbie. And I so often think about just how daunting & difficult it was to learn any of this pre PC days. I can't even fathom! We are happy to help anytime.
  22. Luann, I want to apologize for my snarky "Who knows?" to you. I failed to notice that this was the first time you were posting. My bad & I'm sorry for that. Far too often we tell people not to go gluten-free before they get all testing done but so very many do go gluten-free anyway & then come back crying when they test negative & it's probably...
