ARCHIVED Questions To Ask The DoctorBooghead replied to Booghead's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Big Bummer alert. My doctors appointment has been canceled, I live in Northern Utah and power is out in much of the state, and at my doctors office. 5 high schools were let out or canceled (mine not one of them of course I'm never that lucky). I am really bummed out. Waiting for so long and now I have to wait longer. *sigh*

ARCHIVED Questions To Ask The DoctorBooghead replied to Booghead's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease A gluten challenge sounds like torture. And I honestly don't even crave it anymore. Dairy though? I crave dairy daily. Hourly haha. And yes I did have a positive blood test. I will probably feel so good gluten free after another two months that nothing would make me eat it again. My mom is going. She's my ride. Getting my license in January but I don't think...

Sounds like they knew more about Celiacs then most places I've been here in America. ARCHIVED Just Diagnosed Celiac With PainBooghead replied to kate12345's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Poor thing. Eliminate dairy. I'm 17 and I elimanated milk before I even gave a second thought to celiacs. It made my stomach hurt almost instantly. I am now going dairy free (sigh). I can honestly say dairy free is going to be ten times harder then gluten free and the 2 together are too much to take! But it's only for a short time. 1 year tops in my case...

Sorry to bug everyone again Doctors appointment tomorrow at 4:10 PM. My follow-up. He is going to tell me my biopsies were negative, I am hoping he will still dx me. I need a diagnosis for school and college in the future. I have some questions picked out to ask him, but I was wondering if you guys could think of anything i should ask? I am going...

By pain if you mean the burning in my stomach it is in the middle. If by back pain it is also in the middle. Not really any sores on the hands. I have stopped drinking milk, but I still eat cheese and yogurt along with butter. Do I need to cut it all out? Have had ultrasounds before and had colonoscopy and endoscopy, nothing specifically checking...

I'd say that did not happen because of gluten. Something else maybe.

ARCHIVED Baby With Gluten Intolerance?Booghead replied to Amaya'sMama's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs I did mean a wheat allergy. Sorry about that. Quick typing >.<

ARCHIVED Extreme Flatulence, Nausea And Vomiting Anyone?Booghead replied to astrologer50's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms It could be something else, but you do not need gut pain to have celiacs. If it makes you feel better stay off of it. In all honesty from what i've read so many people feel better not eating gluten even if they don't have celiacs. This stuff isn't good for us and we all know it. Best of luck to you

ARCHIVED Making Fun Of Gluten Issues On New Cbs ShowBooghead replied to Kate79's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease Doesn't bug me too much. Don't let the little things put a cramp in your day. IMO I love sitcoms and TV, and it's wrong and I know it but I love mean humor. Picking on people is just good laughs. I am not a mean person. Its just what my family finds funny. Family guy makes fun of jews and people with downs syndrome. I love my butt off every time. My best...

Hey again, Been back at school two days, still have this rotten cold and have been having horrible back pain barely kept down with 4 ibuprofen every 6 or so hours. I have assumed this is from the cold but in the past it has been "random". Also Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday night I had a very strange burning in my stomach. I do mean in my stomach, the exact...

I had a positive blood test and and EGD done. The results came back and the biopsy was negative. I feel I do have celiacs because I have been feeling much better after going gluten free. Help?

ARCHIVED Sick And Need Some Gluten Free SoupsBooghead posted a topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips I just want some decent gluten free soups from the store. The kind you just throw in the water and Wa-Laa! I want something light, like chicken noodle or vegetable beef. Nothing all heavy like potato. My favorite soup is Campbells Tomato soup. Stupid losers don't make it gluten free! I hate being sick and my throat hurts

ARCHIVED University Cafeteria Help!Booghead replied to roflcarl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications I would think there would be too much Cross Contamination involved at the very least. Make your own lunches. They can be tasty too! Ask for a really nice Bento Box for Christmas because those lunch boxes are BOSS! Happy Monday!

ARCHIVED Baby With Gluten Intolerance?Booghead replied to Amaya'sMama's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs It is common to be sensitive to more then one thing. It could be something else you are eating. It probably wasn't the potatoes(mine don't have gluten in them) but it could have been something else. Babys can react to vaccines. I know this years flu vaccine has made everyone I know sick including me. So vaccines could be a problem. If she has a...

Oh yes sir gluten can really cause severe symptoms. Honey gluten can cause stomach cancer! Many of your symptoms are very similar to mine and the burning in upper abdomin.Goodness that stuff sucks. Like heart burn but lower... Strange indeed. Make sure they run the correct Celiacs panel when they take your blood. I am 17 and I would like to be normal too...

ARCHIVED Need Help With New SymptomsBooghead replied to azlynn23's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease You don't need to cut those things out yet. Make sure you are completly gluten free. And depending on how severly your stomach was hurt it will take some time to get feeling better. Like 2 weeks to 6 months. It depends. Good Luck

ARCHIVED Young Adults In Dairy Denial D:Booghead replied to HSM's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff I self diagnosed lactose intolerance before I was diagnosed with Celiacs. The only thing I avoid is milk. I am thinking I should probably cut it all out. And I have never heard of Lactaid pills? Can anyone explain? But before I stopped drinking milk I was feeling these severe withdrawals to drink it. And not just a glass but several. As soon as I cut if...

I would go through periods of 10 months to a year feeling fine. But this last year they have come much closer and with less breaks in between. Like having the stomach flu 5 times a year. Along with C for as long as I can remember.

I didn't purposley eat gluten. My family is really into eating out on the weekends. My father took me to panda express as a gift, it was a surpise. I ordered rice and beef brocoli. I am new to this and after eating it I found out it wasn't gluten free. As for Applebees my mom was being nice. I am just going to eat at home from now on. Its not their fault...

How do you guys deal with missing school? I have missed 6 days in 3 weeks and I'm sick with a cold and will probably miss more this week. What do you do when you miss for Celiacs and then miss for something like this? I am so behind in school. I just don't know what to do. Any advice or help?
-
I was out of school not last week but the week before for 3 days (for colonoscopy and egd) and 2 weeks before that I missed 3 days. Now I have a cold thats being going around my family. I got it on last sunday and I was hoping it would be mostly over by this sunday. Its not. Its much worse. I've been glutened 2 times this weekend as well. I am not feeling...

ARCHIVED Just Flat Out Need Some HelpBooghead replied to TTNOGluten's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease That sucks. I also get horrible back aches. The less I carry and move the better it gets. I'm in high school so back packs aren't a big help. I don't know about gallbladders but if your's has polyps perhaps removing it will help. Let me tell you something that doctors don't: having your gallbladder removed limits your food intake much more, spicy foods, italian...

Well I'm only gluten free and I don't care much about health foods I suppose. I am also dairy free to an extent. I eat processed foods that are gluten free. So far I like most of them except for minin frozen gluten free pizzas made on a rice crust. Yuck. I eat candy. So far when we go out to eat I eat french fries... not healthy at all. And I am feeling like...
