  9. Had my fancy dinner yesterday so today is a rice dish. Nothing special. Rice with mix of veggies and ground meat all cooked together.
  10. At one of my past jobs the chef was sent a recipe and told to make it and give free samples to the customers. It was Mac and Cheese with cubes of butternut squash and dried cranberries. We all responded by says ,ewe, gross. Well it was fantastic and the customers loved it too.
  11. Woohoo. My daughter showed up the other day with a small prime rib roast and a gluten free apple pie. So the roast is now standing to finish it off and we will have roasted carrots and onions, broccoli with lemon butter and mashed potatoes with cream. And apple pie for dessert. Can't wait!

  18. I used to be in that business and based on what was charged back then $25 an hour is about what the rate would be now. Also prices might be higher up there. Usually you get a couple people in to do the big clean and then weekly maintenance of basic kitchen, bathroom and floors and dusting. The weekly is usually about an hour for a smaller place. You...
  19. When I did a search Pickled ginger or candied ginger came up a lot. I think I'll go with pickled. I have been making ginger tea with it, I have a mild sinus infection.
  20. I just found out that his favorite is Black Forest Cake. That should be fairly easy to do.
  21. I have nearly a pound of fresh ginger so searched for a recipe. I found and made Coconut and Ginger Chicken and veg with basmati rice. It was great but next time I will spice it up a bit more.

  23. Mine is fine so far and I am pretty sensitive. I think I saw this on the forum somewhere already? I hope it stays that way, it my go to when all else bothers me.
  24. I made pork burgers with sage and garlic with onion and mushroom gravy with rice and broccoli. Sooo good. BTW there is an old recipe called Pepsi chicken, just tomato sauce, onion and chicken simmered. you can use Coke, Pepsi or Dr. Pepper or beef or even beef ribs. If you do ribs add some mace or nutmeg. Yum
