ARCHIVED How To Make A Gfcf Pizza
Jnkmnky replied to Felidae's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Cheese may be an impossibility. My kids like the K crusts with Manwich. I make the Manwich with chopped meat, and top the crust with it. I've added cheese, but you don't have to. you can also throw in anything else you'd like ... more onions, gr. peppers, etc. The thing is, the manwich is so spicey and goooood, you might not even miss the cheese! Are... -

ARCHIVED Need A Quick Awesome Cake Mix/recipe..
Jnkmnky replied to cherie012's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I second the pillsbury frosting. You know, two year olds do well with other treats rather than cake.... Last night, my 11 year old and I made chocolate dipped marshmallows. This is something even your two year old can help you do. Take marshmallows, dip halfway in melted chocolate. Place chocolate side UP on wax paper. Sprinkle... -

The Catholic church views Celiac Disease as a "scandalous" disorder along with alcoholism. Neither group can receive Holy Orders. What are you going to do? I'm Catholic, my children are being raised Catholic. The thing to do is not get upset. Getting upset, rioting, picketing, etc will solve nothing. Just Pray about it. The wisdom of God will be... -
ARCHIVED 16mo Getting Biopsy In One Week!
Jnkmnky replied to a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
From what I understand, the biopsies aren't that great at predicting Celiac in kids that young, just as the blood tests aren't that great. I think kids that age should NOT be getting this procedure done. The dietary challange is not making doctors rich, but it works. -
ARCHIVED gluten-free Donut Mix?
Jnkmnky replied to zeitgeist's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Yes. Order from kinnikinnick. The donuts are not light and airy. They're cake like. I add chocolate something or other from Pillsbury to make them even more delicious. -

Jnkmnky replied to Canadian Karen's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
This may be something you tried, but would glopping on Vasiline at night and covering it up to avoid making a mess, work? I also have weird dry skin and the only thing on the market I've found that works is the St Ives bottle of lotion... it's the one with the red white and blue colors. None of the other St. Ives work for me. No other lotion out there... -
I do not think so UNLESS, you are undxed. I read an article that pointed to mass famines leading to more schizophrenia in the future *meaning, the starved mothers had babies that later developed Schizophrenia. There were at least two mass famines in the last century around the globe that later resulted in higher than average cases of schizophrenia. This...

ARCHIVED Front Page Of Wall Street Journal
Jnkmnky replied to 4getgluten's topic in Publications & Publicity
You can get a bit more of the article on topix.net I hate the wsj and their "sign up for news" policy. Great to know that the story is front page! If you ever want to find Celiac disease in the news...just google that thought... Topix has everything printed for Celiac disease as it pops up. -
ARCHIVED Kinnikinnick's Donuts
Jnkmnky replied to a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I think you get 6... but they're very dense. Particularly the glazed donut flavor. I add pillsburry chocolate frosting. I can only eat half. It's too filling. -

ARCHIVED I Need Some Advice
Jnkmnky replied to Slamey24's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
WEEEEEELLLL~ I guess it can be deadly, but they've finagled it around enough to find some good use for it. I don't know. Anything that is historically listed as a poison, been used to kill people, been deemed "deadly" for centuries.... I'm thinking, I won't give it to my child. Calling a 1-800 number for the people who stand to make a profit off of your... -

ARCHIVED I Need Some Advice
Jnkmnky replied to Slamey24's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I always think it's a matter of where lots of nerve endings exist in your body. I think some people have more nerve endings in their gums than others. No one's "tougher" than the next person... just experienceing the pain at a different intensisty according to the makeup of the body. Hope he feels better soon. Isn't "Belladonna" a dangerous drug?... -
ARCHIVED I Need Some Advice
Jnkmnky replied to Slamey24's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Oh, well! My kids never needed anything but waffles! They must not have a lot of nerves in their gums.... My daughter just had three teeth pulled for braces, she's 8. Didn't cry, didn't complain, was doing kartwheels three hours later despite me and the dentist telling her she had to rest the rest of the day. -

Help for teething....... We gave the kids frozen waffles to chew on (Van's and Lifestream make great gluten-free waffles- Makes a gooey mess, but the kids got relief from chewing on them)... or you can put the soft, gel type of teethers in the freezer, and let the kid chew on it all chilled. -

San Diego, California is nice. There's LegoLand, The S.D. Zoo, SeaWorld, the beaches, Tijuana, Mountains, the Missions, Hollywood... so much to do. And WholeFoods, Trader Joe's, Boney's, Henry's, Outback Steakhouse, PF Changs. It's nice! Oh, and a Disney World, too... I think. -
