  1. How you handle this will be absorbed by your child. That means, do what ever it takes to keep your son safe. He's receiving a message throughout this confrontation. Do you want him to learn to give in to other's stupidity, or to let the hard headed win? Probably not. He is learning how to take control of his health through watching you handle this situation...
  2. That's why I keep the soy link in my signature. I hate soy. Worse than gluten to remove from your diet!
  3. I rented a house with mold and had a sinus infection that should have killed me. But it didn't! I found by the fifth infection, that taking the red sudafed tablets, twice a day- once in the morning, once at night- for a month after the round of antibiotics helped to keep the infection gone. I think you're really prone to re-infection after a sinus infection...
  4. [quote My parents are alcoholics too. (We just trade war stories sometime!!!!) But here's the deal: just because my parents have a disease, that doesn't mean that they aren't also ass%$@#s for not getting their butts over to AA and ensuring that my childhood was happy and stable. And just because someone has a disease doesn't mean that you are required...
  5. Great! I sent a not of appreciation to the editor. Gratitude, smiling Celiacs, that's the way to go, imo.
  6. Going back undercover, now....
  7. Both of my parents are alcoholics, both sets of grandparents were as well. I always think that if it was a disease, I might have a little sympathy for them...but since I don't... I tend to view alcoholism as a choice a person with no morals makes on a daily basis. People with diseases don't generally have a choice to turn the problem off by choice... I...
  8. Open Original Shared Link? No. Unless the language impairments were a result of being in a peptide induced fog while language was developing...as my son was. He's not dyslexic. I have a friend who's dyslexic, I was an middle school English teacher ( I like to keep that info on the "down-low* as I don't want people "tsking" at my mulitude of mistakes...
  9. They're not connected. You cannot alleviate dyslexia by going gluten free.
  10. How is alcoholism a disease? I know it's called that, but how is that so?
  11. my kids like the Wholefoods 365 Organic brand...which is the CHEAPEST out there. We tried them all and they really like this brand the best. We use the Vanilla flavor for cereal and drinking, and we use the plain flavor for mashed potatoes and other cooking. Works great.
  12. Are you in any Celiac support group? You could have a few folks order together... (get the money upfront- no, I don't have "trust issues"!) and order a bunch of the Kinnikinnick products together. Splitting the shipping charge between all of you. That could make it more reasonable. Do you know any other Celiacs??
  13. Hmmmm.... If gluten FULL Girlscout Cookies cost $7.00 a box... what do think they'll charge for a box of Gluten free cookies???? Dip Ktoos in melted chocolate with a drop or two of mint oil. There's your thin mint!!
  14. We thought our then 3 yr old had autism and when I looked into it more, we thought asperger's. 4 days gluten free... he was completely different. Not a trace of the kid he had been. I think it's a miracle. He became verbal, aware, and more physically coordinated. Nothing but a miracle. And the only thing we did was remove gluten and *temporarily* dairy...
  15. Just keep typing stuff like that..... My sympathy for ya is overwhelming!!! But lack of energy could be all sorts of things. Just go to your dr and get a physical... blood drawn. Maybe you have a bug you haven't really shaken. Plus, you may need to get more sleep???? Are you really resting at night? Maybe lift some LIGHT weights in the evening...
