  1. First off, I want your problem... I have 20 I can't remove from my butt no matter how many miles I tread on the mill. Aside from that, you know, the average American has no idea how thin and lean they're really meant to be. You can be quite a few pounds UNDER the recommended for your weight and height by todays bloated standards and be NORMAL. Did...
  2. Your symptoms could certainly be celiac. There are 200 plus symptoms of celiac disease and you have a nice list going! You will need a blood test to determine if you have the antibodies. Do not go gluten-free until you have bloodwork done as NOT eating gluten diminishes the amount of antibodies and your test can be false negs. Keep eating the gluten if...
  3. You don't need to ask your doctors much. Have you found out what vitamins you're low in? Get a full blood work-up, see where you stand nutritionally, *check iron, folate, all vitamins... And begin the diet, keeping it rich in areas you are currently lacking. Go dairy free for the first 6-9 months. Your villi are probably damaged and going dairy free...
  4. Their pizza crusts, plain bagels, white sandwich bread, chocolate dipped donuts, cinnamon sugar donuts, CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFINS, montana chocolate chip cookies, K-Toos are so FREAKING good. link to Kinnikinnick in my signature.
  5. Outback Steakhouse has a gluten free menu. So does P.F. Changs.
  6. We went in the past. It was fine. Bring along some baby wipes to wipe her hands down before she eats anything. ... You'd be wise to do that anyway!
  7. Kinnikinnick has lots of gluten-free/cf products to help round out a diet.
  8. Open Original Shared Link Interesting new research on how to treat Cystic Fibrosis... going back to nature, eliminating the phameceutical companies... not going to hear about this for too long in the 'natural'... going to have to hear about the Pricey lab, concocted saline solution.... Donaldson said he was surprised by the results because he doubted...
  9. Well, we're military. It's different for us. I picked up the kits, took them to our PCP *civilian, not military* and said I want the tests done. She did them, sent them off and I waited to see if they'd get paid for. I got a small bill later. I generally do whatever I want medically and they always cover it. I'm forunate that way. I realize it's difficult...
  10. I picked ours up at the R.O.C.K. walk last May. I think you can order them from the labs. Google their names and you'll get a link to them. They give out the kits for free as far as I know... it's the testing that they charge for!
  11. I like a homemade Flourless chocolate Torte. Google the recipes for them and you'll get 1000's to choose from. You can add any flavoring you like... I've made it with raspberry flavor, orange flavor, mint *didn't like mint, Coffee flavor, Kaluha flavor, You can figure out your favorite. They are easy enough to make and so varied.
  12. Use Prometheus Labs on the west coast or Enterolab on the east coast. I used Prometheus Labs. My insurance covered most of it. It was $300 per test. I got the test kit, took it to my dr who drew the blood and the kit is picked up by Prometheus labs for the running of the test.
  13. Glucose is sugar. You can have glucose. It's just gluten that you can't have. Beware of the word MALT as well as wheat, oats, barley, rye, spelt, kamut... call and confirm the "source" of Modified Food Starch as it could be derived from a gluten containing source. I use the company, Kinnikinnick for all of my bread products.. There is a link below in...
  14. You can still have that toast. The kinnikinnick white sandwich bread is a lot like peppridge farms white bread. It toasts great. A link to Kinnikinnick is below.
  15. I loved diflucan. I no longer have yeast issues, but when I did I hated the whole dr route. You can now get many yeast meds including diflucan ON LINE>>>>> I've only needed to do this once in forever. But it was awesome not to HAVE to go to a dr. Just google on line pharmacies and diflucan or whatever brand you prefer. It's so easy...
  16. Much of Kinnikinnick is soy/dairy/gluten free. They have pizza crusts, donuts, and bagels and great bread. Just check the ingreds, but most is free of all those. Link at bottom of my sig.
  17. I'll consider this ... Where are you coming from? What do you expect to be paid? What part of the summer would you be interested in working? How old are you? Are you in college? Have any degree working toward child development/education? Done this before? Refs?
  18. Well bed wetting can be a problem for anybody. His bladder may be a little too small right now. I know other people with kids who do not have celiac disease who are bed wetters and the answer to the problem is time to grow and develop more. The Kinnikinnick donuts are very good. My kids like the chocolate dipped the best. If he likes them extra chocolatey...
  19. Benzodiazapines can cause joint pain. It's not widely recognized to be a source of joint pain, but it is. For me the symptoms lasted months after only 14 pills.
  20. We like Boar's Head. All of their products now say GLUTEN FREE right on the label!! They gave me a call at home after I inquired about the gluten-free status of a product and informed me that their entire line of products is now gluten free. NICE!
  21. Well, then I agree with the other poster who suggests he's driving you crazy for entertainment! Good luck! My 10 year old accepted the whole dietary make-over with hardly a whimper... but he's a royal PITA over a bunch of other issues. And I just know he's doing it to bug me.
