  2. Thank you Ruth. I wish she could have stayed on the medication. I am happy it worked for you. We were hoping for remission when we were first told about the methimazole but even then we were told it was uncommon. You are very fortunate. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

  6. The only powder with gluten are chocolate malt and no sugar ones. The ready mixed strawberry has barley extract, the others I think are ok.

    The baked potatoes and sour cream are fine. I eat them often. Check that they don't use flour to stop cheese from clumping before you add cheese to it. I worry about cc with the other things.

I like lubriderm lotion, Paul Mitchell intense daily moisture shampoo and conditioner, Dove hair care and skin lotions...there are a few exceptions but gluten will not be hidden so just read the label, Garnier Fructis has been reported to be gluten-free but I don't use them. Dove bodywash is a good replacement for shaving cream . Vaseline is gluten-free...
  9. I had my gallbladder removed and have none of those troubles. Sounds more like a bowel problem....whether it is celiac or something else. I would definately encourage him to see a doctor.   10. A bag of shredded simply potatoes topped with a stick of butter is a really good crust. Put the potatoes in a deep dish, cover with melted butter and bake for 20 nminutes. Then add egg mixture and bake until done.

    Go ahead and indulge Caramel Fraps are gluten-free. However you do need to be careful. Some Starbucks make a brownie or cookie mixed drink. Always ask and if they do ask for a clean mixer.
  13. Coke and Pepsi products are OK. I have never heard of a ground coffee that has gluten. Be careful of specialty coffee houses as some of thier mixed coffees have gluten added. Most Starbucks drinks are gluten-free. The same goes for tea. The lipton tea bags are fine as most are. Be careful of exotic teas. It does get easier with time to figure out this...
  14. It's made by Kraft and it is in a green shaker tube. It is hard to find though. The only place I have found it is in Walmart. It is the same cheese they put in their macaronni and cheese box dinners.

  21. My celiac problems were ALL neurological. I have been gluten-free for over a year and am doing much better but still get leg weakness and tingling. I was tested for MS and it was ruled out. I would recommend seeind a neuroligist and having an MRI of your head but it could definitely be from gluten!!! A few weeks gluten-free is only the start. I think it takes...

  23. Kraft will not hide gluten so any puddings by Kraft just read the label. There are others as well but we like jello pudding in my house. Main stream cereals that are gluten-free are fruity and cocoa pebbles and cocoa puffs. There are a few others.... just do a search. Hang in there. It does get easier. Companies are very helpful, if you have doubts...

  25. They do not have dedicated fryers for thier chips. That was most likely the culprit.
