  1. I don't know...I was still having random emotional rollar coasters, and it was a tremendous effort to get myself out of bed in the morning. (I LOVE popcorn made stovetop style as an evening snack). My sister (also gluten-free/df and corn free) suggested I give it a try. Wow. What a difference. I also had my NAET practioner test me (applied kinesilogy) and...
  2. This gal can't do oats, pure oats, no cross-contaminated and tested oats. No how. No corn gluten either.
  3. My oldest son (5 yrs) is self-professed raw food vegan - with the exception of McDonald's fries (a new addition to his repertoire) and a few gluten-free/df baked goods I cook up. He is growing quite well, and happy. It's not that tricky because because we find we can't "eat out" anyway. It used to make me anxious, that he only ate raw fruits and vegetables...
  4. I recently received a Keurig coffee maker - the one with the little single serving coffee doins' that you pop into the machine & press GO. I noticed that some brands of the coffee doins' contain autolyzed yeast extract. NOT going near that cuppa joe!
  5. I'm going to go out on a limb here...just a random thought about cooking with wheat... Psychosomatic, or.... science that hasn't been discovered yet? Anyone else here subscribe to the principles of homeopathy? I am of the belief that half of something is always going to be half, right? Even when gluten is reduced down to the smallest particles, if...
  6. I thought for a while that I was even being glutened by some wines. How could it possibly be wine? All in my head, I thought. Nope. Tried it again. Same thing. So, a little research revealed that wheat paste is sometimes used to seal barrels. Unless it's "my" tried & true tested label, I don't consume.
  7. This may be a little alternative, but... I too, used to have this feeling. But I haven't had this sensation since I did a "cleanse" with Paragone for intestinal parasites.
  8. I think this question is an interesting one because I found myself having a "gluten attack" after standing in line at Tim Horton's to get a gift card - I didn't even drink a coffee! I wondered if I could get be exposed from just SMELLING all those yummy treats. I also wondered if I was paranoid and manifesting the symptoms. Then, last weekend a mini-donut...
  9. Pollen season?
  10. Did anyone else read "somewhere" that North American wheat contains the highest percentage of gluten? Was it 40% more gluten? 60% more? I remember reading it, and having an "aha" moment, because my sister had just returned to Canada after living in England for 6 years, and was SO sick! (MS suspected)
  11. Yes - it's all just a fabrication, right? Just a few months ago my MIL pulled me aside and asked when I was going to let my children eat REAL food. Truly?
  12. I am so grateful for these old posts. As my boys are writhing in bed, and fighting fevers with a tag team of Tylenol and Children's Motrin - I'm left trying to figure out how they got glutened. I was trying to determine, what was new? What did we do differently. Well, I think I've confirmed it now. They decided to "renovate" the dog's house. There was...
  13. There is a need for more research on chemcial composition of eggs. e.g. vitamin E / gluten derived . Feed comprised of wheat & barley?

  14. My oldest had loose stools UNTIL he was 3, and went gluten and dairy free. Truly, loose doesn't even begin to describe it. Diaper days = up the back. Always packed a couple extra pairs of pants AND shirts.SO glad those days are over. My youngest was the opposite. Constipated UNTIL he was 1 and he went gluten and dairy free. And now that they...
  15. It's been a month since you posted - how did everything work out?
  16. Yes! You're not alone. I worry about face paint also - so I haven't taken a chance. Although, I worry about "temporary" tattoos too. THAT might be paranoia
  17. All be it "alternative", applied kinesiologists can do non-invasive muscle testing to help you determine what to avoid in the interim. We visited with a NAET practioner team - this was our first intro. to "alternative" medicine & we were desperate. I can't imagine where we'd be sitting if we hadn't given it a go. I know some people may not be open...
  18. I was under the impression that the french frie fryer at McDonalds was separate from the fryer used for nuggets and the like. Perhaps this is why my kids and I had a bad reaction last summer after stopping at a "chip truck" on our way home from the cottage. Never again. It took over a month for the lesions to heal. Mc Donalds is our "faithful" stop when...
  19. I wonder if it makes a difference based on where you're located? Meaning, Canada or the U.S. ? I'm in Ontario. I am VERY sensitive but I can always count on the boys and I being able to eat McDonald's fries. No "Happy Meal", but ... you can purchase the toy separate. Because we are so sensitive, we can't get away with using handsanitizer if we're...
  20. I wonder if perhaps it depends on how sensitive you are. From what I have come to understand, the chemical makeup of oats includes gluten. Avena sativa. So, even if you buy/use oats from a dedicated mill, who sources their oats from a dedicated field, etc., etc., you may still react. If my memory serves me correctly, The Australian celiac website...
  21. Has anyone tried vitamin C to bring a halt to symptoms? Mega dosing vitamin C is supposed to block histamine. I tried it with my son as a last resort, in desperation. His fever cleared, and stomach pain went away within hours. Coincidence? I will probably never know. Has anyone else tried it?
  22. I wholeheartedly agree with the person who posted about glutenfree feed for your Bessies. I think that it is only natural that what your cows eat and drink, will effect their milk. Gluten was transferred to my son when I was breastfeeding. I can recommend colloidal silver for healing damage to your stomach - and I prefer it as a natural antibiotic too...
  23. I too have had this experience. I also am finding that I am especially sensitive just prior to my cycle. I am SUPER vigilant the week before I'm due.
  24. I recently had a tremendous reaction after using hand sanitizer and munching in the car on the way home from work. I have been SO careful, and I know that I am VERY sensitive. Has anyone else experienced this?
  25. My son and I also react to chicken eggs - although I have had a difficult time trying to find scientific evidence to prove it. What I suspect is : the grain feed is processed and becomes tocopherol - a chemical component of the eggs. (aka vitE) I have been on a mission to get my own backyard chickens and do my own experiment. (Still have to get the hens...
