  1. If you're getting a scope to check for celiac, you need to keep eating gluten. Same for the kiddos. If the scope is also negative you can still start eating gluten free to see if you feel better. Many here have gluten Intolerance and benefit from the diet. Hope you find your answers. Colleen
  2. Thanks Shadow. Never heard the term before. Ski, lots of rest. I feel for ya hun. Hang in there. Check in tho. I have a heck of a time keeping track of you guys
  3. Ski? What happened to ya? Sounds like you were down for awhile. I hate to hear that. Now if Irish would just check in everything would be right with the world. What the he!! are "bangers"? Having plain old steak and potatoes tonight.
  4. Your welcome. Colleen
  5. Probably cc is my guess. Eating out is like playing "Russian Roulette". Dealing with the after effects is hard. Treat the individual issues as best you can. Be aware that every time this happens, damage is being done. Hope you recover quickly. Colleen
  6. 1:40 is positive, albeit lowest positive. I also am at 1:40. You really need more tests to find out what is going on. It just indicates that "something is going on. Colleen
  7. Since your Doctor correctly suggested you be tested for Lupus I would follow her recommendation. With your clinical indications she must suspect another autoimmune disease. It is common to have more than one. Colleen
  8. Yup. Vans. Glad you found it. It doesn't take much to make us celiac's happy...lol Colleen
  9. Some people react very quickly and for some it can be a few days. Effects from gluten can also last for weeks. I don't know of any correlation between metabolism and time of symptoms. Hope you feel better soon. Colleen
  10. Here you go. Open Original Shared Link They (ana antibodies) are found in many disorders including Open Original Shared Link, Open Original Shared Link and Open Original Shared Link, with different prevalences of antibodies depending on the condition. This allows the use of ANAs in the diagnosis of some autoimmune disorders, including Open Original Shared...
  11. answerseeker, I'm glad you were able to eventually get diagnosed. Aside from you citing a book, I have found no information supporting "prednisone interferes with celiac testing" . I also do not doubt that this very thing happened with you. Maybe someone else will find something. Good luck in continued healing. Colleen
  12. Umm...Popcorn for dinner. I would pay top dollar for a dinner in the mail from Love2.
  13. I really hope the long term drug works well for you. Take things easy. Good luck in healing. All the best to you. Colleen
  14. Mars M&Ms clearly marks packaging with allergy information and a "may contain" statement. Peanut Butter M&Ms do not contain gluten. If they continue to make you sick you should not eat them. All the best. Colleen
  15. Steroids typically suppress the immune system thereby reducing symptoms. They don't stop the production of antibodies. Think of it this way. Steroids reduce the reaction but they do not cure the underlying disease. Long term use of steroids does more harm to a body then any benefit except in cases where steroids are used to replace natural cortisol or...
  16. Where did "learn" about this? Corticosteroids are sometimes used short term to treat celiac spru. I can find no information that corticosteroids would interfere with testing. Colleen
  17. Hi Paul and welcome to the funny farm! I think I got you beat. Let's see, Dads 3rd wife younger than my brother. my daughter graduated with her Uncle and Hubs nephews younger than he is. Oh, and I'm older than my Hubs too. All the best! Colleen
  18. Hi Louise, Welcome to the forum. A few ?'s for you. Is your pots primary or secondary? Have you had your thyroid checked? I've read that over 1/3 of pots sufferers have digestion problems. Interesting eh? I ask about your thyroid for a few reasons. When I was pregnant with my first child I started falling off stools from dizzyness, lightheaded...
  19. Pets that lick you...on the face, hands. Same as having a gluten eater slobbering all over you. And, yes, you can get glutened from kissing a Glutinator. Not to mention handling all that gluten filled pet food in a gluten free kitchen. Like GFinDC said. Every label every time. W8in..small amounts of gluten, hidden gluten, will keep your immune...
  20. Don't forget to use gluten free pet food if you have pets that lick. Colleen
  21. Love cherry juice. Will contemplate the seeds if laying off the nightshades doesn't help. Thanks Barty. Colleen
  22. Maybe? Open Original Shared Link.
  23. Takes time and diligence to completely remove gluten from your home. Another thing you should get used to doing is carrying an assortment of snack food with you when you leave the house. I keep a pack permanently in my car. It has nuts, raisins, Lara bars and water. I never want to be in a situation where I need something to eat and don't have a safe...
  24. Probably not a good idea to load up on processed food when eating gluten free. Not only are they expensive but they are empty calories. Healing should be a priority and your health will only be as good as the food you eat. It is extremely satisfying to eat naturally gluten free food. Try not to think about replacing foods that you have lost. But...
  25. Hi W8in4dave. I've seen some of your posts and I assume your relatively new to gluten free life. If you haven't done so already, read the label on every food item in your home and avoid these surprises in the future. Go thru toiletries for gluten products that come in contact with your mouth. Check all prescription and OTC meds for gluten ingredients...
