  1. Hi Paul. Because gluten damages the villi of a celiac. They will look for this damage when they take biopsies. This is another confirmation of celiac disease. You must be eating gluten for damage to continue, otherwise, when you stop eating gluten you start healing. If you have been diagnosed with a blood test, it is up to you to have the additional...
  2. In preparation for going to the Ohio State Football game this Saturday, I was reviewing the stadium policies. Previously I have brought my own food and cleared it through security. I was completely surprised to read that the stadium is now providing a designated gluten free food cart. THIS is a great thing for celiacs and hopefully a trend for all...
  3. The IGg test is not an allergy test. Allergies have different methods for testing. Again, there is no specific test for intolerance / sensitivity. Colleen
  4. This could save so many people from decades of misdiagnosis and declining health. In part "new urine-based diagnostic tests for colon cancer, prostate cancer, celiac disease, ulcerative colitis, pneumonia and organ transplant rejection are already being developed or are about to enter the marketplace, thanks in part to this work." 5. I usually take nuts, raisins, fruit and hard boiled eggs. Have a safe trip. Colleen
  6. How long has the bloating been going on for? A dairy intolerance usually shows up earlier but is not unheard of. You should check if you have added anything new to your diet. If not, than maybe an elimination diet would benefit you. You might also look into parasites. Colleen
  7. Here is information about celiac testing. As you will read, a high IGg alone does not diagnose celiac disease. To my knowledge there is no diagnostic test for gluten Intolerance. Open Original Shared Link Colleen
  8. Well, as far as celiac and thyroid diseases, you are clear. I can't comment on what your doctor said because I wasn't there and have no context. If you feel like you want to continue the gluten free diet for other health reasons you will find plenty of information here. If, however, you only want to discuss drug use and addiction then maybe a different...
  9. Hi Jedi, You would need the thresholds of the test to read the results. What did the Doctor tell you?
  10. FYI... Open Original Shared Link Colleen
  11. Hi Dizzy, From your previous posts I'm assuming you started gluten free on the 10th. So your 9 days into it. Did you actually stop eating all gluten, are you eating gluten light? Not all people have severe withdrawal. Gluten effects us differently. Aside from the mail away test are you planning to be tested? You must be eating gluten for that...
  12. I once clipped my yorkies nail too short. Dang, the blood wouldn't stop coming. The little guy mush have jumped on every piece of furniture in the house.. I used cold water. Worked just fine. Good luck. Colleen
  13. I'm a candle hound too. Always a few burning. Bart, your nightshade - joint pain connection has me jumping up and down. I can hold my full coffee cup in the morning. So far so good. Thanks. Colleen

Wow! Gosh what I would give to walk in a place and do exactly what you did. Congrats on your pizza! I am green with jealousy. Colleen
  15. There is this stuff called Swish And Swirl. My Oncologist gave it to me when my immune system crashed and canker sores were killing me. It's a Rx. Easy to use and tastes fine. You swish in mouth and swallow. Speeds healing and works to decrease severity. And GP can prescribe it. Colleen
  16. Good Article. Open Original Shared Link
  17. I always make sure the car is ready too. I keep a fleece blanket, water, non-perishable gluten-free food, first aid kit, candle and flashlight. In my everyday "go bag" I keep spare medications, extra cell phone battery, wet wipes, tissues, umbrella and sunscreen, gluten-free snacks and water. I've been caught in Ohio weather too many times not to be...
  18. Thanks Notme and Love2. The marinara option sounds good. I love a good butternut squash so I'll prepare it the same way in the oven. Looks like I'll have a good dinner tonight. Thanks again! Colleen
  19. Be careful with the oatmeal. It can easily be cross contaminated, you may still be getting gluten. Switching to a certified gluten free version will take care of that. A lot of people find that their reflux resolves with the gluten free diet. I hope this holds true for you. It just takes some time. You will find two threads on the Site, "What's...
  20. Hi Caroline. I'm so very sorry to hear about your Dad. I will pray for him. As far as your questions are concerned. The prostatitis, if bacterial should be able to be cleared up, if not bacterial then I don't know. The renal failure does have a connection to celiac. Here is the information about that. 21. My brother gave me a spaghetti squash. What do I do with it. My son keeps using it as a barbell for his biceps. Humbly asking for guidance. Colleen
  22. Lunch? Huh? What time is it anyway?

  24. please note that this recall is in Canada. Colleen
  25. Not feeling well in the morning in itself is not a symptom of celiac disease. If for additional reasons you suspect you might have Celiac Disease you should pursue testing with a doctor. All the best. Colleen
