  2. Just to clarify. Being intolerant to a food does not mean it is a precursor to Celiac, nor does it mean it will evolve to Celiac Disease. Celiac Disease is an Autoimmune Condition. Gluten Intolerance is not. Colleen
  3. I have seen wheat as an ingredient in canned beans. As always, read labels. Colleen
  4. BelleVie, Hopefully today will go smoother for you. I have a suggestion for getting yourself through these moments in the future. It is a technique called "mindfulness". [Mindfulness] a kind of nonelaborative, nonjudgmental, present-centered awareness in which each thought, feeling, or sensation that arises in the attentional field is acknowledged...
  5. And slainte right back at ya. I managed some peanut butter toast and Babe (my name for hubs) is making me cookies My good news is ... regarding my cancer check up ... "no definitive progression of metastatic activity" which means the cancer has not gone any further than the initial lymph nodes at this time. Giraffe jigglers ... just saying...
  6. Couple glasses of Disarono with who knows what at some point
  7. Wow Irish, that is great. I was at his clinic about 3 years ago. They have extensive archived images of not only football players but every imaginable traumatic brain injury, mental health disorders, toxin effects, etc. And yes, my brain scan is in there too He runs presentations on PBS regularly. His wife Tana is also accomplished in the nutrition...
  8. The NFL player Decker on the Broncos was telling in an article how he makes the most perfect breakfast sandwich on gluten free bread. The article did not say if he was celiac or not. I thought that was cool. Colleen
  9. I also make my own lip balms and use only pure coconut oil on my face, hands and feet. I also use olive oil for deep moisturizing treatments on my hair. Colleen
  10. Beauty products are only a concern if the product can get in your mouth ie: shampoo in the shower, lipstick. It also sounds like you have a concern about your kitchen prep. You may need to become very strict with your protocols. Are you using a shared kitchen? Do you have your own condiments? Do you have a separate toaster, cutting board? Do you take...
  11. When you get glutened, it sets off the autoimmune response. This in itself will cause you to feel fatigued and your body stressed. The fact that you took on a second job AND are now a caregiver would cripple the best of us. Get as much rest and quiet time as you can. Delegate responsibilities in the home so no one person is taking the brunt of caregiving...
  12. I saw that Dr. Daniel Amen is one of the presenters. I have met him personally. He is a crusader of the S.P.E.C.T. imaging process of the Brain. I was fortunate to be a client at his Newport Beach, CA clinic. I HIGHLY recommend watching his presentation. Colleen
  13. Honey Crisps are the bomb!! I scored a bunch on sale at Kroger today Chicken, Rice and yummy Asparagus for dinner tonight.
  14. My pies have never been pretty. Are we being graded?
  15. Jwiggles, Are you completely gluten free? It sounds like you might still occasionally eat gluten. If I have interpreted that wrong then I apologize. I also deal with Mental Health issues. After I went completely gluten free, the symptoms greatly reduced and I was able to eliminate many medications. All the best. Colleen
  16. I like the mini pumpkin pie idea. Then the extra can be frozen for snacks. Colleen
  17. Fuzzy, The proper tests for Celiac are: AGA (antigliadin antibodies)-IgA AGA-IgG tTG (anti-tissue transglutaminase)-IgA EMA (anti-endomysial antibodies)-IgA Total serum IgA Followed by an Endoscopy procedure. You must eat gluten 3-6 weeks for an accurate result. And yes, Celiac can be genetic. I would find a new pediatrician. Colleen
  18. I am so afraid to know that that tastes like As GFinDC said in his Commercial Quality post Nature Made works for me too. Colleen
  19. MissChris, Ditto on bringing your own food. And I wanted to stress what LauraTx said. Take Grandma aside and tell her about your "Medical Diagnoses Of Celiac Disease", in those words. Tell her how wheat, barley and rye can damage your body. She will completely understand. Colleen
  20. Brooks, thanks for the report I think I will try for a pumpkin pie. Haven't had one for so long. Thanks again. Colleen

    ARCHIVED Ocd

Great Article. Society is "in love" with being different. People think that if they have this (any condition) then society will treat them special and give them more attention. It takes away from the seriousness of the condition and the difficulty people who actually have the condition face in real life. This is my experience with real life OCD and...

Barty, remember when you told me about nightshades? I was doing great, could hold my coffee cup and everything. Then one evening I was trying a new pasta, poured on the Marinara and the next morning I couldn't hold the coffee cup. I'm a believer. Colleen
