  1. OK. I had a cup cake for dinner and feel much better and "lard" scares me ! I feel better about the turkey already. Irish? Can you tell me how to make an apple pie? I would like to use real apples. Pretty Please Colleen
  2. OK. I'm having a panic attack ! I'm thinking BRM mix has my name on it, although I'm going to keep the pie crust recipe to try at a later time and I was taking a closer look at the Alton Brown Turkey link and I saw "brining" and my heart stopped. I seriously though "brine" had to do with shrimp. I like the pumpkin cheesecake thing so that's locked in...
  3. Ok. As of this minute, I will go forward with confidence and the knowledge that I do have the skills to do this. Thanks Irish, you always know what to say to me. I think the pumpkin pie with ginger snap crust would be awesome, I'm addicted to ginger snaps anyway I do want to try the pie crust with the apple and I do have a rolling pin Colleen
  4. gluten-free, I am concerned about the LDH-A, I collapsed shortly into my last stress test, they ended up doing it chemically and I was fine. I experience problems when washing my hair or blowing it dry, I can't keep my arms over my head very long. I don't do well with any extended exertion. Legs get weak going up stairs, that kind of thing too. It...
  5. Dang Arlene. Great Big (((Hugs))) for you! It happens so don't beat yourself up too much. Colleen
  6. Ok. Got the turkey recipe book maked. Thank you. I'll go with the Pillsbury pie crust like Shadow. So here is my intended menu: Turkey by Alton Brown Crock Pot Stuffing Creamed Corn Casserole, Addy ... can I have your recipe? Green Bean Casserole, Addy ... recipe please? Candied Sweet Potatoes, Addy? Mashed Potatoes Rolls Cranberry salad...
  7. Help needed from my fine foodie friends. I am determined to make a great Thanksgiving feast this year. I'm going to make that crock pot stuffing. I'm going to use both corn bread (I have a Hogson Mills mix) and some packaged bread. I don't have a mixer so can't make my own). I'll toast it all first but I can't tear the bread into chunks so ill just...
  8. Well, one more piece of the puzzle, at least you know it's not fungus or yeast. Keep on top of the Derm guy, they can be dismissive or too general. Good Luck, Colleen
  9. Here's another opinion for you. I would let the whole issue drop. You don't have to eat anything she makes so that's a non-issue. It's never good to create drama where none is needed. I applaud your boy friend for sticking up for you but maybe he needs to let it go to. IMO, the only way she will come around is if she takes it upon herself to get educated...
  10. This is all very interesting. Also interesting that the man died of Brain Cancer !! Just to be up-front, I am a skeptic of miracle cancer treatments. Colleen
  11. Hmmmm. If Ascorbic Acid is derived from Glucose and my Glucose is high, that might explain the low LDH. I'm guessing here but it makes sense logically. It makes much more sense than this explanation which would get into more weird genetic stuff. Open Original Shared Link. Colleen
  12. Abby, It has been great since then. It is longer than its been since childhood, I'm 47 now. My nails have always been wicked long and strong and I just realized that I have no white dots now either. Colleen
  13. Addy busted me. I admit it, I was gonna have one anyway But it was way better knowing I was celebrating good health!! Love you guys Colleen
  14. Happy 3rd to Irish Having a cup cake in your honor Colleen
  15. Ha! I know, I'm taxing the brain ... lol. I don't take any supplements or alcohol. Compliments always make me feel good Thank you!. I am a carnivore but I don't chew the bones so you got me there Elevated LDH is usually an indicator of Tissue damage or Metastatic activity, Even when I had active cancer activity the level should have gone up but...
  16. Sorry about the sore backside. Use Aquaphor healing ointment on the biopsy site. It will speed the healing time. Colleen
  17. I have a working theory ... lol. I have the thin fine hair too, ugh. Very brittle, very dry and hardly grows. So anyway, about 11 months ago I was getting my cancer treatment which knocked out my immune system. During the treatment my hair changed. It stopped breaking, didn't tangle up in the shower, combed through with no snarls and actually grew!...
  18. I noticed one of the cup cakes disappeared over-night. My son crawled out of his cave this morning and said "where did you get those cup cakes? They are awesome" I told him I made them and they were gluten-free. He didn't believe me He thought hubs had picked them up. HA .. There are only 3 left. I hid them in the freezer. GIT YER PAWS OFF MY CUP...
  19. Wow... I bet that cheered you up some I'm addicted to the brownies too Colleen
  20. A member had just recently posted this. It may be helpful to you. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/104815-found-an-excellent-website-for-gluten-free-travel/ Colleen
  21. Another suggestion for you. Have you ever taken papaya enzymes? They are a natural Histamine blocker (may help with the hay fever) and an anti-inflammatory. It can also aid in digestion. Good Luck. Colleen
  22. Welcome, I'm so glad you decided to share your story. Like so many of us here, it has been a long hard road. Now you, and soon your family, can start some real healing and feel some control about your health. I'm so happy for you Colleen
  23. Oh Karen, that is a great idea. They are finished cooling off. I frosted one and ate it. Total yummers. Off to frost the rest. Thanks again Karen. Colleen
  24. Halloween was cancelled It's too spooky out. Driving wind, rain and being pelted by swirling leaves must not be fun for the little ones I'm making cup cakes. How do I freeze them with frosting on them? It seems like the frosting will stick to the saran wrap. I guess I could freeze them plain and then frost when I eat one but then my frosting might...
  25. Alaine, I'm sorry, I can't help as far as the fecal test. I don't have any experience with the testing company or the test itself. Like Cyclinglady said, drop all dairy for awhile, dairy will constipate me in a heart beat. Drink lots of water, then more water and finish off with more water And as Cooties said a 15 minute walk can get things going...
