ARCHIVED Boderline
mouse replied to JASON's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
You have it. I wish I had had your doctor many years ago. You cannot have a false positive no matter how low the number is. It just means that the damage has probably not gotten so extensive. How lucky you are. Embrace the diet and that means being careful of cross contamination. You might see some changes in your health that you did not realize were... -
ARCHIVED Tell Mommagoose You Love Her

I can't believe that I hijacked this thread. This thread is to let Momma Goose know that we love her, value her opinions and look forward to her postings. We are to help her out of the dol-drums. Being a Celiac, we have all been there and will probably be there again. So, HIP, HIP, HOORAY for LISA. Now lets all say it together. -
I figure that my God is going to make sure that I outlive my husband. My hubby may drive me places that are far away since the Ataxia and the exhaustion, but at home he can't find anything. He does not know how to pay bills, etc. When I want to teach him he ignores me. I really think that he believes that if he does not learn that stuff, that I won't...

Welcome to the forum. The diet seems overwhelming at first, but gets easier with knowledge. Don't be afraid to ask questions as we do not consider any to be a stupid question. Where are you in AZ. I live just East of Apache Jct. If you are in the Mesa area, I can probably quide you to some shopping areas.

ARCHIVED Pumpkin Pie "cupcakes"
mouse replied to Guhlia's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Thanks. I wrote the additonal suggestions on the print out. I thought that they almost sound like a pumpkin mouse' (sp). I thought that maybe a carmel type something drizzled on the top sounded good. -
ARCHIVED Glutino Chocolate Wafer Cookies
mouse replied to elonwy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I went to my Whole Foods yesterday and they did not have this type. They said they are going to expand the gluten-free section and I hope they carry them then. They look so yummy. -
I think I like Rusla's better as hers is so true for the men. Except, mine would just ask me for the $ instead of going through all of that LOL. Of course, I have to admit that I have known women that are just like on the list.

ARCHIVED Another Condition Related To Celiac
mouse replied to debmidge's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Deb, I have an appointment with a new GI toward the end of next month. My GP wants me to have a colonoscopie because I am having constipation problems since last Dec. If I tell this GI doctor about the rectal pain, will he be able to see what is causing it when he does the colonoscopie? Please don't tell me that I will have to see another doctor. -

Hey Rusla, you forgot you are a Goddess, NOT a black witch. You are too funny and nope you have certainly not offended me - just have me laughing. And I don't think I want to honor the earth by dancing naked in my home. I would barf with the image of everything bouncing and swaying to the music. -
I think she wants someone who KNOWS the disease and any illnesses that sometimes come with it. I love my GP, but he does not have enough time to research this disease as he also has to keep up with all the other changes in medicine. I am certainly not his only patient. So, if I have a problem, I lightly research it, we discuss it and deicde what should...

ARCHIVED Pumpkin Pie "cupcakes"

Another question. If after they have been cooled, etc., can you take off the muffin liner and do they still hold their shape. I was thinking like doing a presentation with garnish on a plate. -
I thought that I just read that they are intercepting the drugs from Canada and are not delivering them. It figures. And I think it is starting in Jan. the people in AZ that go to Mexico for their drugs will have to have a passport.

ARCHIVED Another Condition Related To Celiac
mouse replied to debmidge's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Deb, before your next issue "illness of the month" arrives, I think I would cancel the subscription. I also have had the couple minutes to two hours of intense rectal pain. My GI told me what it was, but I don't remember. I don't think there is anything we can do for that type of pain. It does not seem to be what Deb's husband is expieriencing. What... -

MY hernia does not bother me all the time. But, the one position I cannot do is watching TV from a semi sitting position in bed. I did think about having it fixed as it has gotten worse since I lost all that weight before diagnosis. Then when my food allergies went through the roof, I decided no way am I having any operation (if I have a choice) that makes... -

Where do I buy a premade gluten-free pie crust? -
Our Walmart has been advertising that they are cutting the costs on hundreds of meds. Maybe Lexipro is one. You might call your Walmart and see. The price slashing is suppose to be a big one.

ARCHIVED Bard's Tale Beer
mouse replied to Lillyth's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I did not try the flatbread and brie. I had the shrimp and white sauce pizza and the wings. I wanted plenty of leftovers (LOL). Pete ordered his own pizza. But, now I know that whenever we go to Whole Foods, it is at lunch time, as Picazzo's is only 8 minutes away. Of course we only go to whole Foods about every 2 to 3 months as it is an 1 1/2 hours... -
ARCHIVED Bard's Tale Beer
mouse replied to Lillyth's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Today I got my first bottle of Bard's Tale to drink. Went to lunch at Picazzo's Pizza and they had it there. I don't like it as well as the New Grist. But so far we don't have the New Grist in the health food stores here. So, today I bought 18 bottles of Bard's Tale (Whole Foods) before I tried it. Now if we get the NG soon, I HAVE to finish the BT's... -

Hey Lisa, you can create a wormery for YOUR garden. Then you will have some handy. When you want to eat worms - he he. Hugs Hey everyone, I am not being mean as Lisa and I have been emailing each other. She knows I am joking. -
They are redoing the whole panel as the office staff did not know how to take just the one test out for the lab orders. My B12 is fine. I get checked every 3 months for that, D and all the other vitamins. When I got diagnosed with gluten ataxia, I was told that staying gluten free would prevent it from getting any worse. Or that is what I thought...

Susan, I am so sorry about the painting. All of your hard work and artistic talent. Maybe now you are suppose to do an even greater painting. Just remember you love your dingos and she did not do it delibertly. I want to know if the skunk smell came out of the wedding dress? Richard, I love the puppy peeing on the laptop. They have new laptops...

No, she is not leaving us. But she is down and we have certainly all been there and will be there again. So, what Beverly is saying is that we need to tell Lisa that she is very much loved on this board and that we treasure her for all of her contributions. So, Lisa I am sending MANY HUGS to you and may you wrap yourself in them to give you comfort. -
Sorry Morgan. I don't know why I kept thinking you had darker hair. But, I have never seen you with your hair not down. Well, anyway, tell your friend she looks cute in the cap.
