  1. I printed off a copy of the Texas Roadhouse gluten free menu from their website and use it when we eat there......our waitress understood what I was talking about and made copious notes for the kitchen staff. I am very happy with them. I haven't tried Logan's lately because I have never liked their food.
  2. I just bought a box of Enviro Kidz Amazon frosted flakes at Meijer for $2.99. They are good as well! Sharon
  3. Dear Nicole, There is also a Whole Foods and Good Food Company on Maple Road in Troy. In Clawson on 14 Mile Road, there is Bel Cibo, a small restaurant/store. Their pizza is good (you can sit down and eat it there if you wish) and they have various specials. Bonefish Grill, Carrabba's, Outback Steakhouse and P.F. Chang's all have a gluten free menu...
  4. Sounds like I will be able to enjoy corned beef and cabbage! Thanks to all of you for your input. Sharon
  5. Yes, I will be asking the chef/owner of the restaurant. However, I don't always trust that they really know for sure. I think I will go to the market and read the label on the corned beef.
  6. Does anyone know if corned beef and cabbage is gluten free? My favorite family restaurant serves it every Wednesday and I sure would love to order some. Problem is, I don't know what is in the brine that corned beef is made with. Sharon
  7. I live in Madison Heights....GO TIGERS!
  8. I guess I must be an oddball! I tried the Glutino pretzels last year and thought they were disgusting! I threw them out. Looks like I am the only person who doesn't love them!!! Sharon
  9. Thanks to all of you for your input. Sounds like I can enjoy peanuts and cashews now! Sharon
  10. I would like to hear about your experience with nuts. The label on Kirkland's cashews states that the product is gluten-free but is processed in a facility that also processes products with wheat. I haven't checked out any other brands yet. Does anyone have any information on other brands of peanuts and cashews? I have been craving them lately. Thanks...
  11. I sure hope our local Outback isn't going to scrap their gluten-free menu. I had lunch there today and used the gluten-free menu and the manager came out to be sure everything was to my satisfaction. They are very customer focused. Sharon
  12. TinkerBell, I enjoy reading all of the comments about encounters with restaurants. Keep them coming! I had a bad experience with Red Robin today and had to leave to go to another restaurant. I also had a good experience with Chili's where the manager gave me a printout of glue free items. Thanks again. Shaaron
  13. Danielle, I wish all the Red Robin restaurants were like the ones where you live. My hubby and I went to Red Robin for lunch today in Madison Heights, Michigan. When I requested a gluten free menu, the waitress couldn't even pronounce it and I asked for the manager. He, like the waitress, didn't have a clue. He said no they did not have a gluten free...
  14. Hi Amanda, What year did you get your information on Swanson's broths? I have a printout from the Campbell Soup Company that lists Swanson's beef broth, chicken broth and vegetable broth as being gluten free. The list they sent me is from 2003. Sharon So sorry Amanda, please disregard my reply to you. I looked at my can and it does say natural...
  15. Hi Hannah, I don't know of any canned, but I use Lipton Cup-A-Soup in Cream of Chicken. Lipton's other gluten-free cup-a-soup is cream of tomato. Sharon
  16. I buy Vietnamese rice paper, and directions say to soak only for 5 seconds...longer may cause the chewiness. Just a guess. I eat them filled right after rolling, or sometimes I fry them. Very good either way. Sharon
  17. Johnsonville sausage is delicious and gluten free!
  18. I just bought some of those rice chips today. They are very good.....your recipe sounds yummy. Thanks.
  19. I vote for Breads from Anna. You can't beat it! Sharon
  20. Hi, Whole Foods and Good Food Company both carry some delicious brands of gravy packets. If you still want to try homemade, the blender can take care of any lumpy problems. Sharon
  21. Dear Penguin, I know there are soy sauces that are gluten free, and that some of them contain gluten. But, what about hoisin sauce and oyster sauce? Are they all gluten free, or do I have to look for a particular brand? Sharon
  22. Sorry for your problem with Chebe pizza mix. I haven't tried it yet, but I tried the bread mix and made the so called cinnamon rolls. The taste was good, but the rolls were tiny and hardened to be leather like. Had to throw the whole thing out. Almost broke a tooth biting into one! Sharon
  23. I really miss my beef chop suey. The restaurant I used to buy it from has an owner who is too lazy to find out if his soy sauce has gluten in it. Unfortunately, at PF Chang's and other fine Chinese restaurants, they don't have chop suey on the menu, probably because it isn't actually a Chinese dish. I cook with LaChoy soy sauce, which is gluten-free, but...
