  1. Wish there was a Mama's in CT...sigh...
  2. That's good to hear! Then, perhaps just some time gluten-free will do the trick...
  3. 1974, The great thing is.. whatever happens...your eyes are "open" now...you'll be watching... I agree about some parents...my SIL is one of them. My nephew was dx as T1DM (type 1 diabetes) about 10 years ago...it's been a DISASTER. She is just one of those people who has to have "easy"... Sadly, she's raised him to, pretty much, "eat what he wants" and...
  4. Now, I really would love one of those! The kid loves hard-boiled eggs... Where did you get it?
  5. Ron... Wow... So sorry to hear that... I'd say, definitely, not just a man thing... Jestgar... Agreed...
  6. Rachel... Congratulations to you, as well... Very nice to hear!
  7. Btw, I don't have the same appetite, either. I attribute it, mostly, to the healthier, whole foods that comprise my diet. I do want to ask, though...what's your state of mind? Emotions? Are you grappling with melancholy, depression, etc?
  8. Lmbo... LOVE this! Made me smile...
  9. I don't think you're nuts...and it's not difficult to be nice to someone who is nice, too. As for your question... I don't take all negative test results at face value... In fact, I harassed my doctor for ongoing, repeat Lyme testing early on (when they couldn't 'find the answer' to my many symptoms)... I, finally, ruled it out because it didn't fit...
  10. 1974... I appreciate your answer! It really helps to understand your reasoning... Even when folks don't understand or agree, it helps so much to communicate...
  11. Crap. I've got everything but the nutmeg...
  12. Just be grateful there are 2...some families not so lucky... And, I agree about your niece! Then again, I don't understand the lack of willpower...especially when you're sick...or are likely to become sick. Nor do I "get" the omg-I-can't-eat-whatever-I-want-life-is-not-worth-living. mentality either... So many people, with no hope, for themselves...
  13. 1974... We all make the choices that are best for us and our children...as should be... I happen to disagree with you....but, that's okay, too. I'd really like to ask you something, though... You don't have faith in the positive result, but you do in the negative? Just curious... Also, after all the personal stories you've read, on here...TONS...
  14. Yes... coffee-free is a bigger challenge than gluten-free...for me anyway! As for the OP's question... The fact that many, many people get negative results on bloodwork AND endo...but actually have celiac/NCGI was the very first thing I learned when researching this... So, it would seem plausible, to me, that you could have tested negative after...
  15. Agreed! Probably right up at the top of the list of reasons "why" celiac/NCGI is the red-headed step child of the medical community...no money...
  16. June... Yay...happy for you! I've gotten all the ingredients and hardware...tomorrow is baking day! I've got 4 recipes I'm going to try (my 1st attempts)... The offspring is leaving on Sunday for a week on the cape... I'm hoping to be able to make him a few things when he comes back...
  17. Also... Thanks for the compliment, Squirming, but I'm just learning, too...but I do try to share what I'm learning... And, I'm learning a lot from folks here...
  18. You know what? People like Irish are the reason I keep coming back here.. I've read through this thread 3 times thinking I'd missed something. Good grief...every bit of advice/opinion she gave was done well... I have to say this... I'm a grown woman and it's getting old the "walking on eggshells" that has to take place in here. And, you're probably...
  19. Nay nay... I noticed a huge difference in my stomach region within the first week. More of "feeling", really...my stomach felt lighter, less "dense" (if that makes sense)...hard to explain... But let's just say that I don't remember ever feeling this way...ever... just less "pressure"... Even at times of being "skinny" I didn't feel like this.. it...
  20. Sa1937... I was told by the royal offspring, "just 'stuff', mom...there's no food...(grumble)... I'm going to try a few recipes I found online (a couple in here)... Chocolate cake (made with black beans) Coconut-blueberry muffins Flat bread (easy recipe using coconut flour)
  21. I am trying to stick, primarily, to whole foods... But, in order to avoid a mutiny, I am collecting some recipes and supplies for baking... I just can't see myself putting in any of the "gums"...at least not yet...talk to me after I've had a few dozen flops, though, and I might have to re-think it (the kid's missing some of his goodies).
  22. Ron... I know you said you probably wouldn't make your own, but I found these and thought you might be interested... they look good and super easy... I am really intrigued by the "formula" one... Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  23. I used to eat mushrooms...haven't brought them back yet though... Also, mushrooms are naturally occurring where the gums were created in a lab, right? Sa1937... Yeah, I see that...now that I'm looking...and grosses me out...
  24. Just an idea. Could you find a recipe that might work...make your own...wrap individually...and freeze them? I've been planning to look into this option because the offspring works out every day... He hated the Larabars I bought for him to try... In fact, he said, (and I quote) "You don't really love, do you? Are you trying to kill me?". Not a better...
  25. Richard... Thanks so much for the response! Just made things a lot easier for me...
