  1. I can explain this one... I was in a situation where I was becoming desperate. Every test my HMO ran in the last 3 years came back normal including their tests for malabsorption which I to this day cannot understand. I was clearly not absorbing. The celiac disease tests they ran were also neg...although I may have messed up the results by going gluten...
  2. Nope...you never asked me. I'm sure I've been tested since in the beginning they ran a million tests. I know I got tested for diabetes 4 times in the first year! I'll be leaving my HMO soon so I'm requesting all my records. I'll be able to see all that was done....I'll ask my doc as well.
  3. I definately wouldn't be worried about a wrong diagnosis if you've got both tests coming back positive. Pos. bloodwork + pos. biopsy = Celiac.
  4. Yeah...I do crave that stuff. Someone said they sell it in a can at Walmart but I didn't find it. Not a big Walmart fan anyway. I was worried about contamination from a reg. box of mac & cheese since I'm real sensitive. You never had a problem I assume? It seems like it would be a waste to buy the box and then throw the pasta away.
  5. I feel bad after I eat salmon that has color added. Its like poison to me.
  6. Yup Carrie...that is *exactly* whats happening to me. Its about 1 week after getting glutened. When it happens I feel a little faint and shaky. Once when it happened I was luckily near a Whole Foods so I stopped and got some Envirokidz bars and some blueberries. I worry what will happen if I'm somewhere where there is no gluten-free food I can eat. Will I...
  7. I used Enterolab and just got my results a few weeks ago. I had tons of symptoms which have kept me off work for 2 years. I'm still not totally 100% convinced about the validity of these tests. The thing is prior to my results I was only 94 lbs. and not improving much....in the very short time since getting my positive results and going completley gluten...
  8. What exactly is Malt diastase? The reason I ask is because its in the vitamins I've been taking...thing is the label clearly states GLUTEN FREE. I wasnt too concerned because of the gluten-free status but I wasnt sure if the vitamins were causing me problems so I stopped taking them just this week. Are you sure it contains barley or gluten?
  9. Thanks for the info. on the vitamins. Nope....Candida can affect anyone male or female. We all have candida in our guts...its a bacteria. We also have "good bacteria" as well. If there is an upset in the balance between good/bad bacteria (numerous things can cause this) the candida will grow and can sometimes cause problems. The *extent* of damage...
  10. After I get glutened I'm NOT hungry at all for a few days. The attacks come about a week later when I start to feel a little better and my appetite is good. All of a sudden I'm starving and even though I've eaten I'll get a hunger attack. Come to think of it its usually after I've eaten something high in sugar. Why would that be? As soon as I eat something...
  11. I have those envelopes...the brand is Mead. I don't think you can use those for banking though..can you? I wouldn't know cuz I always go inside to the teller.
  12. I know how you feel. When I first got sick I had to go on disability...then I lost my relationship...thought I might lose my house at one point. For awhile I was so sick and depressed that I prayed every night that I just wouldn't wake up...it was a really rough time. I've been on the diet almost as long as you have and I cant say that I'm anywhere near...
  13. Well if you can afford it go with the Bare Esentuals stuff....then you can let me know how the heck that stuff works!
  14. Thanks, I think the main problem was that I didn't use any milk + I put a huge chunk in the pot rather then small pieces. Oh yeah..I probably had the heat on too high as well. LOL...OK...I guess I pretty much did *everything* wrong as far as the velveeta goes. Next time I'll be a pro.
  15. Sheeesh...it sounds like you're having a hard time getting answers. I called the companies for all the products I use and they were all helpful. They sent me those lists of ingedients which contain gluten and told me to just watch out for those particular ingredients. I didn't get that same response from Estee Lauder about the rest of the ingredients not...
  16. LOL...I think I'm actually the opposite in that I think about food alot LESS since getting dxd. I thought I'd had candida so I was constantly worried about "feeding" the candida or getting sick...paranoid everyday...but I never had these hunger attacks...I was eating way less also. Now I know all my food is gluten-free and I know the candida is not going...
  17. I had fear and anxiety while waiting for my test results although it may not be the same fears your experiencing. I wasn't afraid of the gluten free diet at all...I feared my results would be negative and that I'd still be sick with no answers. I'm happy thats not the way it went. I prayed alot and I think it payed off.
  18. Thanks Sue, Unfortunately I don't have a crock pot (yet). It really takes an hour? Sheeesh...that seems like a really long time for cheese to melt. Now I want a crockpot so I can make Queso dip!!!!
  19. 11. Have a really good cry 12. Come to this message board 13. Look over my old journals to remember how bad I *was* compared to now. 14. Do some yard work 15. Take a hot bath 16. Go to the sauna 17. Take my dog for a walk 18. Sleep...sleep...sleep (oh was that already mentioned?) 19. Read a good magazine...
  20. I was probably 95% gluten-free since April but only got dxd a couple weeks ago. I've swtiched all my products to gluten-free now but I've had a couple slip-ups already cuz of contamination. I'm wondering if maybe my body is starting to heal and the hunger attacks mean it wants more food/nutrients since its trying to heal? Just a guess..
  21. LOL....Oh yeah...I guess I missed the title! DUH

    ARCHIVED Dh

I had radioactive iodine treatment for Graves Disease...the next day I got a weird blister on my face. At first I thought it was a pimple...it wasnt and it stayed for weeks. Ever since then I get them off and on. Sometimes they are symetrical (one on each cheek) or in very small clusters...sometimes its just one all by itself. They always come back pretty...
  23. Yeah...I was trying to melt it first Thanks for letting me know...I did try to melt it *on* the pasta as well but I think the clumps were just too big at that point. Now I know.
  24. Weren't you eating alot of stuff w/ gluten in it before you got tested? It seemed like you were if I'm remembering correctly. I would find out ASAP which test they need the blood for. They may have already completed the Celiac test...in which case you wouldn't need to worry about it.
  25. OK....I've already stated in the past that I'm not too good in the kitchen. Tonight I thought I'd try velveeta with my pasta. How do you melt the stuff? I put it in a pot and it just clumped up and stuck to the pot...I tried the microwave and it got all dried up. What am I doing wrong? I ended up just putting the gooey clumps over my pasta...it definately...
