  1. I'm just really starting to figure out how gluten affects my body, how long my reactions are, recovery time..etc. I notice if I get glutened repeatedly (this happened with my lotion) it can take weeks for me to get back on track. If its a small setback...it might take up to 2 weeks for my stools to look a little better. I also lose weight fast if I'm glutened...
  2. I agree. Do you *need* that official diagnosis for your son? If you do then listen to your doc and test him later. Do you feel he's suffering from eating gluten? Do you see an improvement w/out gluten? These are things you need to think about. Since you already know the chances of him having it have increased drastically w/ your own diagnosis you just need...
  3. I don't feel sick but I do get very bloated now....especially if I have any dairy. I'm not eating dairy now and cutting back on the processed gluten-free foods and it seems to be helping.
  4. Oh...I have so many things to say here. I'm learning to cook. I'm eating WAAAY better than I ever have have in my life. I'm starting to feel better. I'm actually using my brain again instead of watching tv all day. I appreciate little things in life that I never even noticed before. I joined a gym....never thought I'd do that in a million...
  5. Hi, I know exactly how you're feeling. I had Enterolab done last month after suffering for 3 years with no answers. My results were positive and the diet seems to be working...I'm gaining weight and feeling better. My original bloodwork came back neg. last year. I was gluten-free 2 weeks before the blood test but noone told me it mattered. After the test...
  6. I had the same problem. An hour could go by and I'd still be on the SAME page....it was so unlike me. Plus I'd forgotten what I'd read almost immediately after reading it. I was just staring at the words.
  7. Really? Do they have it in all the Wal-Marts? I'll have to look again...I went down all the aisles but I was mainly focusing on the mac & cheese section.
  8. LOL...poor unsuspecting picnic people. Habenero's are a little too much for me. It sounds yummy though...I'd probably go with a jalepeno instead.
  9. Wow Tiffany...I learned something new today. I have to say...I knew nothing about plants...or their reproductive cycle until now.
  10. When I had a rash on my arms it spread once I started scratching it. I have no idea if it was DH though. Never found out for sure.
  11. Thats *exactly* how I feel as well. I could've written that myself. Only difference is I wasnt sick all my life...just the last 3 years. All I have to do is not eat gluten and I'll get better? It's no problem for me at all. I'm happy with the diet...I'm happy I've gained 14 lbs...and I'm just happy to have an answer after all this time.
  12. I got sick from my lotion...so yes, I would say you need to change those items..definately. The lotion incident is actually what led me to my diagnosis.
  13. That is sooo cute...I like your segregation method! I still have my sticker collection from grade school and I secretly still love stickers. I got into scrapbooking a few years ago...so now I have an excuse to play with stickers and everyone thinks its great!
  14. OOPS...What I meant to say is false negatives can happen with the bloodwork. So the neg. TtG could've been false.
  15. I would assume that "visible" damage is proof positive. Never heard of a false positive as far as the biopsy is concerned. Flase positives can happen with the bloodwork though. (actually I'm not sure about that) People on here have posted that they were negative on all the bloodwork but biopsy showed flattened villi.
  16. Yes, its the same thing.
  17. If I get brain fog now its alot more mild than it used to be. Before I knew what the hack was wrong with me I had brainfog 100% of the time. It was scary to me. I was fuzzy all the time. If I was to lose my train of thought I could never get it back...it was sort of like an etch-a-sketch....once the pictures gone its gone for good. Thats what my brain seemed...
  18. Darn. I really don't mind the bloating too much except for in my face since sometimes it causes a headache.
  19. Do any of the ingredients on the labels look suspicious? I think if they contain gluten it could be causing her problems still...especially being a baby...I'm sure she puts her hands in her mouth often. My lotion had wheat germ oil in it and I was getting really sick until I figured out what it was. I will give my vote for California Baby. I use the...
  20. Was your bloating only in your stomach area? I kinda feel puffed up everywhere..mostly my stomach legs and face though.
  21. Thats pretty much how I was before going gluten-free. I joined a gym so I could use their sauna and steamroom and they gave me a free consult. trying to get me on some program. They did all the measurements and I had like almost no bodyfat. DUH..I didn't need a machine to tell me that! The guy thought it was great...even healthy to have such low body fat...
  22. Well...the gluten-free diet is really making a difference and I'm actually gaining weight pretty quickly. More than 10 lbs. in 3 weeks. All of my aches and pains are gone..no crying spells or brain fog..so it seems like I'm improving alot. The only thing that is still bothering me is fluid retention and bloating. Even though I've gained 10 lbs I'm pretty...
  23. Good job VydorScope!! So I guess that mystery is solved and I'll have to blame something else for my hairloss. Well I think I'm still a little terrified of the vitamins so I'll look for another brand. This one tastes so good though...almost like pineapple.
  24. I think it could stll be celiac disease...the GI doc may want to biopsy him if he suspects celiac disease. If you are against having the biopsy done then I'd just start him on the diet right now. He's obviously gluten intolerant even if he doesnt have celiac disease or visible damage yet. He is symptom free right...just small? Starting him on the diet could...
  25. It could have *only* been the vitamins or Garden of Eatin chips which aren't guaranteed gluten-free anymore because of cross-contamination. Is it more likely the chips?
