ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something

Kassandra, Did you ever have your copper levels checked?? I think it was something I mentioned in the past as a possibility for your difficulties with sleep. Anyways copper has a very strong relationship with estrogen. If you have estrogen dominance you will more than likely also have excess copper. Copper is also used to fight bacteria as it... -

For anyone who was/is doing a low oxalate diet....I remember that vitamin C was one of the things to be avoided because it was said to be converted to oxalates. I was someone who always had problems with vitamin c...except for one hypoallergenic brand that I tolerated ok. Anyways here's what I found recently... I do have an imbalance... -

Sherry, Its not the magnesium. I take alot of magnesium but dont get these results. Its only the really high oxalate foods that cause loose stools for me. Otherwise, I'm usually more on the C side. Unfortunately, the high oxalate foods also cause alot of inflammation and weight loss/malabsorption problems...so I cant be eating stuff like that on a... -
ARCHIVED Tooth Problems. What's Your Experience?
Rachel--24 replied to AliB's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I wasn't even gonna say anything (this time)!! Ok...heres my story. My teeth have always been in pretty good shape. Only 4 cavities when I was little. Absolutely no problems with my mouth/gums/teeth until I got two of the fillings drilled out and replaced with crowns. One of the crowns kept disturbing my bite. At first it was even...but afterwards... -

I wish I had a poop story to tell! I have nothing...there's a serious lack of poopiness going on. Its been almost a week....I'm almost tempted to go for some of the foods that I *know* will correct this problem...but those foods are very bad. I think the problem is that I had to stop taking my enzymes. I'm still trying to take my CDSA test but... -

Kassandra...sorry you're having to deal with this now on top of everything but hopefully this will sort out the bleeding problems and hopefully they can get things figured out so that in the future you wont have the fertility problem. -

April, Infectious Disease Specialists unfortunately are notorious for being very unhelpful (to put it nicely)....especially when it comes to Lyme Disease. My worst experience EVER was with the IDS...hopefully you will have better luck but if he dismisses Lyme dont be too surprised and dont give up! Let us know how it goes. There are a few... -
ARCHIVED What Can You Do To Determine If You Have Villi Damage?
Rachel--24 replied to CuriousOne's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Genes are not an indicator of villi damage. Many people have Celiac genes but do not actually develop the disease. A positive bloodtest (tTG) would be more indicative of villi damage but the biopsy is really the only way to determine this with certainty. Not having the Celiac genes would mean that the chances of having villi damage are very small. -
Elisabet, My doctor just ordered the organic acid test (OAT) from Great Plains Lab....I'm waiting for the kit which should arrive in a few days. The test is frequently used for determining some of the issues related to metabolism and dysbiosis that are common in autism. I think this is a great test because it looks at alot of different things...although...

ARCHIVED Positive Blood Work, Why Biopsy?
Rachel--24 replied to Mom2Twins's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
In my opinion the biopsy is not really necessary at this point. The highly positive tTG, EMA and the positive response to diet is enough for a diagnosis. If there were no wait time I'd have gone ahead with the biopsy just to see how things looked...but after having gone gluten free for a period of time you may not get a positive biopsy anyway. Either way... -
ARCHIVED How Is This Possible?
Rachel--24 replied to betty6333's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi. Many people carry the Celiac genes...however, not everyone actually develops the disease. The genes are inherited but this does not mean that every person with the genes will have Celiac Disease. The gene(s) are triggered in some people while others may never have their genes triggered. Also, make sure that you were tested for IgA deficiency... -
ARCHIVED Which Comes First - The Celiac Or The Diabetes?
Rachel--24 replied to AliB's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I think there are many possibilites as far as triggers for Celiac. Personally, I believe that Candida Albicans might be a more likely trigger. The amino acid sequence found in the cell wall of candida is identical to the gliadin amino acid sequence that triggers the immune response in celiac disease. https://www.celiac.com/articles/695/1/Does-...ease... -

Nice....If its not one thing....its another. Is there really anything safe to eat anymore?? I think I might actually be safe from the thyroid attacking chemical since mine's already pretty much been destroyed by the brilliant doctors who nuked it for the "benefit" of my health. And on top of that...I cant eat produce. No fruits or veggies... -

Paula...I tried to accomplish this with the colored confetti. Oh well...I partied like it was 1999!! We used to give prizes for the first poster on significant page numbers....I think page 100 was a huge deal. I probably lost that time too. Anyways....the prizes werent real....we just had BIG imaginations. Ok...Tom, got any ideas... -
ARCHIVED Question About 20 Ppm Or 200 Ppm Or Whatever Ppm
Rachel--24 replied to home-based-mom's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I get what you're saying...BUT....how do you know a contaminated utensil or cookware is less than 20 ppm? You wouldnt know that without testing it. Something like a colander cant be cleaned 100% because you cant possibly clean each of those tiny holes....and why would you want to even try....much easier to buy a new one. A scratched pot that... -

Sulfur Metabolism
Rachel--24 replied to Nanjkay's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Nancy, None of these questions can be easily answered. If you do have a problem with sulfur metabolism it can be quite complex and correcting it would more than likely depend on getting to the root of the problem. I see in your signature that you have alot of other issues as well? Some of those things may be a factor....chronic infections or heavy... -

Not really....lots of people here (and on other message boards) have tried Humaworm and they dont see the same critters. Also, some people dont see anything while taking Humaworm....so I highly doubt that anything is planted in the pills. There's a Humaworm thread on this board...you can do a search for it but the people using it had different results... -
ARCHIVED Which Comes First - The Celiac Or The Diabetes?
Rachel--24 replied to AliB's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I believe the connection between Celiac and other autoimmune diseases is Leaky Gut. Since Celiac/gluten intolerance can potentially lead to the development of leaky gut the incidence of autoimmune disease would be higher for people with *any* condition which leads to increased intestinal permeability. I dont believe that Celiac "itself" causes other autoimmune... -
ARCHIVED Treating Oi/nmh Associated With Cfs/me/fm Or Cfids
Rachel--24 replied to marciab's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
You can have Lyme even with no neuro symptoms left. Alot of symptoms can improve when we take away some of the burdens. So, if you have leaky gut and you take some of the most problematic foods/substances out of your diet...you will feel much better and some symptoms will fall off. Everything that you do peels away another layer and as you do this your... -

Rachel--24 replied to marciab's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
You can definately feel alot better by peeling away at those onion layers. The more stress you take off of the immune system the better you start to feel. I would suspect some type of infection with the swollen lymph nodes. Like you said...Quest is pretty darn useless for Lyme testing. Most people with Lyme also have co-infections....EBV is one that is... -

Everyone, I have an off topic computer question. I have AOL and I have my instant messaging set up so that when I'm not on the computer a person can IM me directly to my cell phone...and I can instant message back from my phone....just like a text. I've only ever done this with a person who also has AOL (like my mom). Does anyone know if a...
