  1. It all seems very variable, I have had a bit of a rollercoaster. What I do know is that I have had a couple of weeks when I have had more energy and focus than for year, and that apart from when I get glutened and feel like I have flu my 'normal' energy levels are way better. I am down to about 1 migraine a month from 3 a week at worst, monthly symptoms...
  2. Go with what IH says. I lasted 3 weeks on the gluten challenge, long enough to make me sick for about 4 months, not long enough for blood tests or biopsy to be positive. More enlightened doctors can diagnose on your history, less enlightened ones may be persuaded. There is loads of advice here on making sure you avoid hidden gluten etc, and to get...
  3. I am waiting on the results of my genetic testing and I'd be really grateful if anyone has references on those figures.
  4. I had this done about 10 years ago, I think also 3 panels. For me, it was tons of tiny metal discs, about the size of a watch battery maybe 6-7mm. I only came up allergic to 1 thing, nickel. The dermatologists advice was to tell my husband I couldn't wear cheap jewelry It was uncomfortable but that was all the tape, and getting a bit sweaty...
  5. Noooooo he can come and live with me IH so glad you had a good time, no one deserves it more (well maybe some of the good folks here too...) Nice to have you back x
  6. I like tuna with a bit of olive oil, especially the ones with a bit of natural flavor like chilli. If I have something like artichokes in a jar I keep the oil left in the jar and use it a dressing Good luck
  7. Yes looks like you know what to do Good luck, what an asset to have your knowledge in the family. Sending good wishes
  8. I'm lucky mine is usually only about 5 days. Great the Celiact is helping. Good luck with job hunting. I am avoiding it until my youngest is a school neyt year. No idea what to do then! My own business or something flexible with a sympathetic boss I guess...
  9. Great to hear 3 months in, thank you Sorry to hear you got got, hope it improves soon. Wish I could help on the migraines, mine are down to 1 a month since gluten-free. I had to cut out corn sesame coffee too and added B12. They got worse while I was eating lots of(junk type) gluten-free food, and with too much sugar. Stress is killer for me too...
  10. Bad tv for me too, if I am up. If I am in bed I listen to BBC Radio 4, which is talking, news, plays. It helps me feel a bit more connected. Small kids mean I have to keep going. And the cat that wants to sleep on my head. I used to have coloring books, adult ones like tiffany stained glass, Celtic knot work, but my kids pinched those fairies and...
  11. Obviously I was looking to throw a party for our yeti. Is that hair going to be a problem in the ho tub?
  12. Can you ask her directly? Does the rest of the family need to be involved? Genuine questions, everyones family is different. Could you let her know you've been finding out more and would love to talk to her about it? I have virtually been warned off talking to my grandmother who is having blood transfusions every few weeks because her iron keeps dropping...
  13. Did anyone catch the yeti yet(i)? Woo hoo, we're gonna be needing a barbie and a ho tub for that one
  14. Cheers Just the nail biting wait then. And then working out how to get my daughter with no symptoms tested. I mentioned that one of my concerns was that in children it is often behavioral changes rather than GI and she said (in that special tone we all know and love) 'well if we tested everyone with behavioral issues...'. I wanted to shout IF YOU...
  15. I can't handle the corn and extra sugar in many gluten-free processed foods. Just lost my shop bought choc chip muffins. It isn't like a gluten reaction for me, mostly reflux and D.
  16. My 5 year old was having follow up skin prick tests done this morning. I am pretty sure I have celiac, but couldn't last a gluten challenge and have been wheat free 9 years, so no surprise when blood and biopsy came back negative. My GI was broadly helpful, and I am waiting for results of genetic testing. I am 'officially' Non Celiac Gluten Intolerant...
  17. Reckon he has just found out he is going to join us while love2 is cooking. All those muumuus should wipe the smile of his face if you think he is a bit annoying
  18. Wow, a VEHICLE in the GARAGE? I have been my house less than a year, but it never crossed my mind that was possible (genuinely ). Well done, good work. Visiting psyliville folks sounds fun. Hope sorting business stuff out is helping. Detritus is one of my favorite words. I considered having a band called Clam Detritus. Then remembered my lack...
  19. Yes, I found it daunting when I went through the list of symptoms! It explains 20 odd years of symptoms. It does start to get manageable, and you have some time to read and prepare while you get testing done. Someone will be along with a good list for you soon... The folks here are great for any wobbly moments as well as great advice. Welcome and...
  20. Wow, I went away for hours and the little clappy guy is still here and clapping. I love him. Lamb burgers, rice, broccoli, carrots. Simple, but lovely
  21. Encore butternut squash, olives artichoke hearts tomatoes cucumber peppers tuna and mayo
  22. I'm learning to love being host My cunning plan at Christmas is to get everyone to ours for my 1st gluten-free one. I know what you mean though, would be nice to accept the odd invitation. Ho hum. Maybe time to contact my local support group for new gluten-free friends. Mr Mindwarp is our baker and pulled off gluten-free eclairs a few weeks back...
  23. Yep, I'd bring my own or invite them to mine Tried an alternative on Saturday, Mr Mindwarp cooked all my food in someone elses kitchen. Guess what? Always take your own
  24. I found it helpful to write down my symptoms at my worst and then every few weeks. I found there were lots of small improvements I hadn't really noticed and if felt better to see the difference in front of me. Keep at it, and keep coming here Happy healing
