    ARCHIVED Wendys

SO whats the deal now that Frosty's aren't gluten free? I've had the baked potato with the broccoli and cheese and to be honest there have been times that I've felt sick from that, which is annoying since it's stated on the gluten free list. The thing that sometimes tricks people is that when they use like a cheese sauce, some companies use wheat as a thickener...

  3. You can always contact your school's head of the cafeteria and explain your situation, my undergrad was very accomadating. good luck!
  4. I think cereal will always be a dilemma, the sugar thing is a part of celiac diesease that I have a problem with because of a history of diabetes. The eggs, waffles and pancakes are always a good idea, but I understand that you're short on time. I like to make muffins or rasin bread on my days where I have more time so I have those quick breakfast in the...
  5. I got my tonsils out at age 21, no appendex problems as of yet...I'm only 23 though. The tonsils experience was hellish, it might have been because i had double surgery with my knee getting done too. Who knows though!
  6. Apples are naturally known to make you go to the bathroom. Making sure that nothing was sprayed on it is key.
  7. The cereal thing is an ongoing dilemma for everyone I think...I understand what you're saying about the sugar in the cereal, Diabetes runs in my family and I get tested all the time, so being a Celiac has been slightly more difficult because they think adding sugar makes up for lack of flavor. The egg and pancake suggestion is a good idea, although it isn...
  8. Don't worry, I think we all go through a point of time where we're still waiting to feel better. I've been gluten free for over a year and sometimes my stomach still acts up. I know it's frustrating, but you have to get worse before you can get better. Your body is trying to heal itself, just try to stay active and healthy and a change will come soon i...
  9. I understand what you mean about feeling guilty....I have transformed the house to be gluten free and sometimes I think my boyfriend hates it. Focusing on your health is the most important thing, and although I know it's lonely, eventually you'll find a wonderful, caring person who you really are supposed to spend your life with. Things always happen for...
  10. I always turn to my good old friend immodium when I start to feel like that, it usually calms the stomach down. However, I have an issue that when I know I have to be somewhere or if I'm driving for awhile, I don't eat. Even now that I'm ALMOST in control of my diet, I just would rather wait until I get where I'm going than eat a big meal. I'm pretty sure...
  11. My favorite is the Mint Chocolate Chip creme based or the Mint Mocha frapp......I've never had a problem with Starbucks and as Kati said there are very few items on the menu that I've been told contain gluten, however, i'd be interested in hearing Starbucks response to the email you sent elonwy
  12. I have a lot of Boston Beanery's around me, and I was just wondering if anyone new any information about them being gluten free? When I asked the manager he really didn't know what I was talking about, I tried to explain it but all in all, they had no clue. Anyone know?

    ARCHIVED Cheating

Hey everyone...does anyone else have issues with cheating a little bit on their diet...I'm just having a really hard time sticking to it. I'm in grad school and the funds are tight so it's really hard to find things that taste good and are healthy for me, especially bread! I lost a lot of weight before I was diagnosed with celiacs and since then I've gained...
  16. I've been on Yasmin since I've been diagnosed, for about 2 years and have never had a problem...my doctor was aware of my diagnosis when she perscribed it as well...

  18. I went to college in Lynchburg, VA....Roanoke was one of my school's rivals, although Charlottesville is a good bit away from Roanoke, they have a Whole Foods which is unbelieveable...also, any Kroger has a selection of gluten free frozen foods, you'd be suprised. The bread isn't exactly the best, but I haven't really found much that is!! hope I helped!
  19. I recently graduated from college in May...I was diagnosed with celiac disease in my junior year, and although it wasn't an easy transition, if you call the head of student life as well as the head of the cafeteria, they are always MORE than willing to help you out with anything, I even had the chefs make me special food. I decided it was best to get the...
