  1. Beverly - do you have MS, by any chance? Cashew butter and macadamia butter are very good, too.
  2. hello! MS symptoms and celiac symptoms can mimic each other, but i wanted to let you know not to rule out MS. my mother has had MS for thirty years, my aunt for 20. When my sister was fifteen, she had three MRIs because all her symptoms were clear - and we are very knowledgable about it in our family, obviously! anyway, they all came back negative. ...
  3. i did get the hives and chest tightness right away... just the poop and SUPER brain fog came today.
  4. thanks everyone. i had felt it immediately, but then today it came at full blast. i wanted to make sure i didn't do another mistake, but i'm so positive i didn't that it must have been delayed. thanks for your replies!
  5. Hi Leah! I don't eat any meat, fish, dairy, and I get enough protein. If you are uncomfortable with it, by no means should you feel 'forced' to eat anything you don't want to Welcome to the boards.
  6. not yesterday, but the day before, i had some lunch and accidently used a product with a hidden milk ingredient. i realized it soon after, and it sucks, but hey, it happens! anyway, this morning i all of a sudden felt really, really poorly. had the worst poop, and am brain fog central. i didn't directly consume anything that could be cross-contaminated...
  7. i tried the frosted perky o's and they are really sweet. the plain ones taste like cheerios.
  8. your signature says: "I love how it feels to be clean and free of gluten and casein so I can really live!" re-inforce that to yourself. personally, nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels.
  9. Thanks Peter! I didn't know where to find that link. I saw you in the last breakthrough session on Saturday. Hope that's not creepy.
  10. Hey everyone, I am doing some research for a project, and came across these articles. Thought they were interesting: Open Original Shared Link Rice Bran and Hypertension Jim_Kling PhotoDisc Hypertension (high blood pressure) is a major risk factor for stroke, coronary heart disease, and renal vascular disease. A number...
  11. Hello! I am Canadian, also (not BC, though). Also - Peter (sidenote, sorry: I saw you at the conference assuming that your avatar is YOU!)
  12. Simply Organic makes a good whole ground mustard... And even French's bothers me.
  13. i personally just stuck with the foods that didn't bother me.
  14. Lister, I have been gluten-free/cf for almost a year and there are days I still don't feel great. Actually, at some point every day I feel like I'm eighty. Either way, you've been eating a lot of processes, pre-made things. I suggest eating a little more minimally - perhaps you have a plethora of food intolerances you don't know about. For the first eight...
  15. Fisherman's Friends are glutenfree, however, if you are in America, I don't know if you have them there. But they are really nice on the throat.
  16. Hey Lister - happy birthday. Just wanted to tell you to be careful, as you have had so many stomach issues, perhaps alcohol wouldn't be the best idea. Not trying to tell you what to do - just don't want to see you hurt.
  17. I also use Thai Kitchen - but I wanted to add that you can probably find it at your mainstream grocer (in case the health food store costs more).
  18. have something with a balance of carbohydrates, protein and fat. i suggest a large bowl of quinoa flakes with (soy)milk, fruit, and nuts.
  19. hey glutenfreePAL. i took it daily for awhile, and found that it would work for about two days, then the third day i had insominia... And so on. But this was back in October or so.
  20. When I was at my sickest, my liver levels were 800+. (they should be below 40). Now they are around 150 (I am getting a biopsy in a few weeks to check that out because they aren't going down).
  21. Actually, I agree with smunkeemom... When I started getting sick, my liver levels went out of control, and I never drank since. In addition, if she has problems with casein, she should watch it. I was recommended to avoid all alcohol (regardless of my liver) for a year minimum at the beginning. PS. Drinking age is 18/19 here (depending on province).
  22. hey Huey Vincent - I am from Canada, too. Some of our beverages are prepared differently. In addition, some of the mixes (for what she drank) might contain gluten. Some people don;t like to drink questionable things out because of the spigots and such at the bar. Do you know the brands she drinks?
  23. when i was young, until recently, i have had a very large sensitivity to rice. i do not get anaphylitical anything, but i do get hives and feel very ill afterwards. what i do not understand from this whole thread is, if you are eating healthfully, getting all your nutritients, and balancing your proteins, carbohydrates and fat, then what is the big deal...
  24. From the company lists.
  25. how 'bout everyone just eats what agrees with their bods?
