  1. Interesting. I eat a vegan cheese that is maltodextrin derived, and was getting a little ill from it when I was rice sensitive, and noticed that the maltodextin in French was listed as 'riz' (rice in French), but in English, it wasn't labelled. I called the company (and it says on the website, too), that it is a combo of corn and rice.
  2. at the store they have a sign that says they do not guarantee anything, as they are a bakery and there is stuff flying around (in better words, of course). i got sick there a few times from the coffee and stopped going... having open coffee pots with all those baked goods is a gluten trap, to me.
  3. re: beans... just buy them dry.
  4. It can also be rice based. Not just corn.
  5. Another way I can describe it is that if I were to shake my head back and forth, my eyes go slower than the rest and can never focus.
  6. for those of you who have tried all (or any) of the beers, can you say what other brands they might taste like? i want to order some, but would like a general idea, if possible!
  7. Here is a store locator: Open Original Shared Link I use the Dairy Free liquid. The other ones say they are casein free, but it made me nervous, so I am taking the soy based one.
  8. Where are you from? It is available in Canada, and the states (my friend in California also uses it).
  9. any diet is equally healthy. it's just how you make it healthy and take the steps to get there. i know many healthy and unhealthy vegetarians/vegans, and many heahtlhy and unhealthy non-veg, too.
  10. skinnyminny, i take Bio-K (Dairy Free) and it helped me gain some weight and keeps my appetitite going. Otherwise, I would probably dissolve.
  11. hi mario. every day, i eat fruit (grapefruit, oranges, berries), vegetables (zucchini, mushrooms, celery, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers, cabbage), tofu, tvp, coffee, herbal tea, almond milk, quinoa, tomatoes, nut butters, and cereal.
  12. I am not sure what you mean by that, however, thank you for sharing your knowledge anyway! It's nice to see the other side.
  13. I respect your opinions, but please remember that is what they are.
  14. I used to get one email per topic (when it was updated), but now I get it per MESSAGE! This morning, I had 61 emails fromt he same topic. How do I change this so I only get one? Thanks.
  15. I disgree. You can get adequate protein on a vegetarian based diet. If you eat too much protein, it 1) isn't absorbed anyway and 2) if you REALLY overdo it, you're setting yourself up for further health risks.
  16. everyone, please please relax. we're all buds here to help each other.
  17. jknnej - i hear every word you said, and couldn't agree more. i felt like a minority because everyone is now so gung-ho anti- house. ps. i'm a musician / teacher, too... that comment made me smile.
  18. elowny, I'm with you. I looked at mom and smiled and said, 'take THAT b%$@#es!' (excuse the language) when they mentioned what it was.

  20. soy is my main protein source.
  21. I was sad when I saw that so many people were angry with the episode. I was SUPER pumped to see it - I mean, HELLO? We are finally getting recognized. Let people think that is how horrible it is to understand the severity!
  22. When I get glutened, like clockwork, 'd' the first day or two, then C the next. That's my first symptom to go away, then I get hit with everything else for a week.
